A Dreamy Birthday

Hi!  It's Kim - with my last post as June's guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy.  I have totally enjoyed my month, but I have to admit...I am very excited about the "Sweet Peeks" for the July release and am ready to start playing with new stamps!

My last card represents my dream birthday.  I am landlocked in Colorado (and I do truly love Colorado), but the idea of a lone chair on a quiet beach is a wonderful dream! OK...I would probably allow my husband to be sitting next to me and my children to be playing along the shore.  But if it were my birthday, they would have to comply with the "peaceful" aspects of my imagined scene!

This card uses two Sweet 'n Sassy sets.  The shells are from Beauty by the Sea which also includes two Bible verses perfect for this type of card.  The beach scene is from Ocean Paradise.

  • Stamps: Sweet 'n Sassy Beauty by the Sea and Ocean Paradise
  • Ink: Versamark and a very light Copic marker to highlight the waves and the sand
  • Paper: Stampin' Up Naturals White, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake
  • Accessories: EK Success border punch, snowdust embossing powder

July Guest Designer

Hi everyone! Can you believe it's already the end of June?? This summer is flying by!

I am very excited to announce today the guest designer who will be joining us for the month of July. First, I need to say a fond farewell to our June guest designer, Kim Singdahlsen.

Thank you for sharing your fabulous creations with us throughout the month of June! We enjoyed being inspired by you!

The creative lady joining us for July is Cathy McCauley. She is VERY talented in the area of Copics and you are just going to love what she has to share with us this month :). Below, is a little more information about her.

"I am first and foremost a Christian, a wife of twenty four years to my husband and best friend, mother to three beautiful golden retrievers, two of which have crossed the "Rainbow Bridge," retired elementary teacher, and stamper. I love God's word, spending time with family and friends, taking Casey for long walks, and creating in my stamp room."

Throughout the month of July, Cathy will be sharing her creations with us on Tuesday. I look forward to seeing all the awesome designs that she will be inspiring us with! Please join me in welcoming .

You will want to stop by tomorrow as it the first day of our Sweet Peeks gearing up for our July 1st release here at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

A Happy Hello

Hi everyone!! Please don't adjust your computer screen...I have a really big card to show you today:)  I just had to make it longer to get these cute sea creatures all together.  Today I used one of my favorite new stamp sets from Sweet 'n Sassy called Happy Ocean Friends not only does it have all of these cute little creatures but it has so may adorable summer sentiments, you will love them!!
I tried to follow a sketch that I found on Splitcoast TESC140 but I was set on using these papers from my stash that just weren't long enough so I had to come up with a little different layout.
I used a 1/2" circle punch to mount the images on which is the perfect size for these little guys.  I colored them with Copics and added a coat of Crystal Stickles for a little shimmer.   I hope you have a wonderful day and find some time to get crafty.
Signature Final

Life's a Circus

Things at our house have been super duper busy since school got out - we've been going non-stop! I totally feel like "life can be a circus" lately, and I'm making every effort to slow down and enjoy the fun. This sentiment fit my day perfectlyt. I love it when that happens.

This card is for the tip I shared over at the Sweet 'n Sassy Connection earlier this week - make your own patterned paper. I love this stamp set, The Big Top, but I just don't have any patterned paper that compliments the circus theme. So I inked up a couple of the smaller images in the set and made my own :)

I stamped the tent on blue card stock and colored every other stripe with Copics; I added a tiny bit of shading to the uncolored stripes.

Supplies:
Stamps: The Big Top (SNSS)
Card Stock: SU Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, PTI White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Coloring Medium: Copics (B32, B34, YR61, YR65, Y11, Y15, Y17)
Accessories: Twinery twine
Tools: Martha Stewart Edge Punch, SU Circle Punches

The Beauty of Baptism

Hi, it's Kim again for my third week as June's Sweet 'n Sassy Guest Designer.

When I received my assignment for June, I knew that I wanted to use a shell from Beauty by the Sea on a baptism card.

I love the shell as a symbol of baptism - my church actually has a beautiful light over our baptismal font with crystal seashells and water drops.  Since we have infant baptisms, I wanted my card to be elegant enough to commemorate the event, but also frilly with ribbons and polka dots for a baby girl!
  • Stamps: Sweet 'n Sassy Beauty by the Sea
  • Ink: Versacolor black (to emboss with)
  • Paper: Stampin' Up Shimmer White, Blushing Bride, Basic Gray
  • Accessories: Silver Pearl Embossing Powder, copics in very light pink and gray on the shell, Nestabilities Lacey Circle (and a regular circle die to cut out the center of the lacey circle), Narrow off-white ribbon, Cuttlebug Embossing Folders: Polka Dots (emboss dots first) and Tiffany (emboss over the dots), misc cross charm
I do love Sweet 'n Sassy stamps and digi stamps and use them regularly!  I have many more examples on my blog.  Just look in the Labels section in the left hand column and click on "By: Sweet 'n Sassy".

Happy 4th of July!!

Happy Monday everyone!  Harriet here with a fun Cocoa card!  I decided to create a card combining two Sweet 'N Sassy challenges:  The sketch challenge - SSS113 on the Sweet Stop Sketch Blog and the challenge hosted by Jessica - Just For Fun Challenge on the Sweet 'N Sassy Connection.  The J4F1 challenge from last week was to use two buttons.  There is a new J4F challenge posted each Sunday - this week's challenge is to use polka dots - check it out!
I stamped Patriotic Cocoa with Memento ink on white card stock, cut the image out and colored Cocoa in with Copics (hard to see in this photo).  I colored the flag with watercolor pencils and an aquabrush and then sponged it with Tea Dye ink to give it that "Americana" feel like the patterned paper has.  I wound twine around the circle, stamped the sentiment and attached Cocoa with dimensionals.  I finished the card off with the two buttons for the J4F challenge.
Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day!
Supplies: Stamps - Sweet 'N Sassy Patriotic Cocoa; Paper - DCWV, Black Market Papers; Ink - Memento, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye; Misc - Copic Markers, Watercolor pencils, Aquabrush, Twine, Buttons, Nestabilities, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Customer spotlight Sunday

Happy Lord's day Sunday! Today we are featuring Tameko Mays in the spotlight. She made an adorable Cocoa card that I am excited to share with you all.

Tameko
used the Sew Happy Cocoa stamp set for her card. This image is also available as a digi. I love how the paper she picked coordinate so well with the image and the ric rac is a perfect accent. She even decorated the inside of her card too. Isn't it adorable?

Thank you so much Tameko for sharing your card with us today!

Frame It!!

Happy Saturday and thanks for taking the time to visit us here at the Sweet 'n Sassy blog.

This is Mary Marsh and it's my turn to post on the blog. Today I am showing a card that I have titled "frame it".

I am using a sentiment from the rose blossom set that was released just this month.  This set has a beautiful rose image as well as 5 sentiments.

I wanted to show you how you can take a sentiment and frame it with dies, embossing folders and patterned paper to make a quick as well as beautiful card.

I added some ribbon and a button center with bakers twine. The twine is now available in the Sweet 'n Sassy Shop. This one is pink sorbet.

I cut one of the roses from the patterned paper and used it on my sentiment frame.

Well that's it for me today. Hope you have a great week-end and a wonderful father's day celebration.
