With Heartfelt Sympathy...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a sympathy card. Now that Christmas is over, I found myself reaching for my trusty butterflies. Since I tend to do a lot of Thank You cards, I decided to make something that I am not that comfortable with (and short on), sympathy cards. I found the perfect image from Bridge of Hope clear stamp set.

I didn't feel like coloring, so I opted to heat emboss my image to give it a special touch. I used Copper embossing powder. Then I just sponged yellow ink around the main image. The greeting was also heat embossed.

I used up some scraps I had laying around on my desk: a strip that was stamped with the wood grain image from Grunge Borders clear stamp set with VersaMark, and heat embossed with White embossing powder... a strip of dry embossed paper... and vellum butterflies (was die-cut with New Beginnings Butterfly die set). I just had to stamp the butterflies with the coordinating images from New Beginnings clear stamp set.

I used the brand new sketch from The Sweet Stop, SSS191. Hope you stop by and play along with us.

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

Birthday Poppies

Good morning!

Jessica here with a card I made recently using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' beautiful poppy stamp set called Poppies and Greetings.  I stamped the poppies on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  Then, I tore around the image and impressed it with an aida cloth impression plate to make it look like it was cross stitched.  To finish it off, I shaded the edges of the focal image with a light brown chalk ink.

To finish the card off, I added some patterned paper, stitched to the card front (which was impressed with a woodgrain impression plate) and added a sentiment to the front of the focal image.  For a bit of elegance, I added some beautiful gold shimmer twine.

Before I go, don't forget about the end of the year SNSS sale event going on now until the end of the year!  Every stamp is 15% off in the store - no coupon code needed!  Thanks, Korin!

I hope you had a blessed Christmas with your loved ones!
Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas ~

Merry Christmas to Everyone and May God bless us All! Mary here with a very simple card for you. I have to confess that I made this a few months ago when this set was to be released. I was on a CAS kick and trying my best to create a card that I thought fit the bill.

The card is created on a white base that has been scored at 1" all around the card and then another scored line at 1/8" from the first line. It gave me a clean frame to work from. I stamped the sentiment from the Seek Him Still set and die cut it using the Decorative Plaque dies. This was sponged in yellow and finally stamped the star over the top right corner. I added glitter for some dimension.

Enjoy your holidays with Family, Friends and take time to give thanks for the divine Love born for us in human form and seek Him with your heart, mind and soul.

Materials used:
stamps: Seek Him still
Inks: SU colours, Versafine
Paper: SU whisper white
accessories: Gold glitter, scor pal, decorative plaque dies

CAS Poinsettia

Hi everyone, Janette here with you today sharing a CAS Christmas card that I made.  I chose the beautiful poinsettia stamp set which is currently out of stock for my card but this image is also available as a digi so if you still need to finish some cards up, perhaps that will do the trick.

I stamped the poinsettia image twice onto Neenah white cardstock and colored them with copics.  I then fussy cut them out, omitting some of the petals and the leaves from the second image.  I popped it up with foam tape over the embossed panel and gold netting and added some gold stickles and gold pearls for a bit of glitz.  The sentiment which I stamped in black is from the Christmas Joy set.  A fairly simple card to make.

I hope that you enjoyed the card I shared today.  I would like to wish each of you a very blessed Christmas and all the best in the New Year!

Sweet Vintage Baby

Hello, it's Bridget here today!  Only a few more days until Christmas, and I'm guessing your Christmas cards are all made and sent, so I've got a vintage baby card for you today.  I love the Vintage Baby set - the images are so easy to use and this one in particular is very easy to color even you don't feel that confident about coloring.  It was also very easy to mask with a stamped image on a post-it-note so that I could sponge around the image with Distress ink while still in the Nestie.  All panels have been stitched and I added some lace and pearls to help with the vintage look.  The rose has been sponged with SU's Blushing Bride ink to match and the bow is jute twine made by American Crafts.
And on the subject of baby cards, don't forget to check out The Gift of You, a set Korin's designed in her series of Stamp Sets for a Cause - the sentiments celebrate the joy of adoption and help support orphans in Henan, China!
I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful and special time with your loved ones this Christmas, and a time of remembering WHO this holiday is all about - the Lord Jesus.  But I also know that many have had bereavements, sickness and seriously difficult times this year, which make the holiday's very hard - thinking of you who are in those situations too.
Love and hugs all the way from Northern Ireland, Bridget

A Little Glitz and Glitter

Hello friends!  I just LOVE Christmas...love the decorations, the carols, the family get-togethers, the special church services!  I LOVE driving around at night looking at all sparkly lights!  I LOVE the glitz and the glitter!  Glitter and glitz also looks great on cards, so that is my challenge today for the "Ways To Use It" challenge over at Splitcoaststampers...add glitter or glitz to your card creation.  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has many wonderful Christmas sets that are perfect for adding a little sparkle, but I chose to use a set that is not really considered a Christmas set for my sample.

The tag on my card was created using the Forest Silhouettes Clear Stamp Set.  When paired with papers from the Turtle Dove Paper Pad by KaiserCraft and some snowflake embossing, a wonderful wintery Christmas scene was created.  The layout for the card is this week's sketch at The Sweet Stop.  Stickles was added to the trees and snowdrifts and Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint was splattered over the entire card with a toothbrush.  Although it is hard to see in the photo, this card really sparkles.

With only five days left until Christmas, I'm sure everyone is frantically finishing up the shopping, the gift wrapping, and the last minute card making.  Let's not forget the thing I LOVE most about Christmas...celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior!  After all He is the reason for the season!

May the love of Jesus fill your hearts and home this Christmas!

Hugs,
Cathy

Thank You!

I know, I should be sharing holiday-themed cards...but we all need a little flowers in the middle of winter, right?  Today I'm sharing a quick and easy card that showcases this amazing image from the Flower Field background stamp set.  I love this image because you can use it as a background, stamped in only one color with a sentiment over the top , or use it like I have as the focal point on the card.

For this card I cut a square from the white cardstock and stamped the image on the square.  Then I colored with Copics and attached to the card base with foam tape.  I added the sentiment and two bright colored banners for a little pop to the all white card.

Enjoy and wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

Country Christmas

Hi there It's Ceal sharing with you today.
I made this card for a couple challenges. One was yesterday's CAS challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers which is a photo inspiration and then we are sponsoring Loves Rubberstamps this week which starts today and the challenge is Christmas
The stamp I used is one of my favorite Christmas stamps, Christmas Light. this image is fun to color and it also has a matching die. The sentiment is from another set Old Fashioned Christmas, love the font on this set.

Gift of Grace

Hello everyone~
It's Makiko and I have one card for you today.

I used the school color (green and white) of Sandy Hook Elementary School where the 26 innocent lives were violently taken away last Friday. One thing I know is we are promised nothing. All that we have is truly a gift and I am so thankful for the time I have had and for what is left.
I pray for all parents, family and friends who lost those precious lives. I hope they will find peace and comfort one day.

I used Graceful Calla Lily set for the image and the sentiment. The image was colored with Copic markers.

Hope you like it.
Thank you for stopping by.
Have a great day.

Makiko

The Gift of You: Stamp Set for a Cause

We are so excited to introduce our newest Stamp Set for a Cause...

But first, I'd like to share some background behind this stamp set...

Earlier this year my friend Courtney Fowler was blessed to adopt two little boys from China.  It was a long road for her and her family but they knew God called them to it so they pressed on and God blessed.  You can read more about their journey HERE.

When they were raising funds for the adoption I contacted her with a desire to help.  My idea was to design a stamp set with an adoption theme to help raise funds for her family.

Unfortunately, things arose that prohibited the set from being released when I had hoped so her family was no longer in need of the funds.  Instead she suggested we donate to a wonderful non-profit organization called Henan Kids International.  After reading more about this organization and all they do for the precious little ones in Henan China, I agreed it was a great idea.  So here we are!

With the help of Courtney and some of her adopting friends I give you...

This special set measures 8"x6" and features 15 heartfelt sentiments.  You can preorder it now for $24.00.

Preorders are expected to ship in early January.

Here are some lovely samples a few of our designers made to show off this wonderful set.
Please visit their individual blogs for more information about their sample(s).

Collage Christmas

Hi everyone!  Today I would like to share a couple of collage Christmas cards with you.  I tend to lean toward clean lines most of the time so it was fun to try something a bit new and out of my comfort zone.

For my first card I distressed all the edges with scissors and created a tag. On the tag, I first stamped Light of Christmas bg with red ink but stamping off once before stamping on the tag. Next I used the Snowflake flourish set and stamped the flourish over the bg with red ink as well. Finally, I stamped my image from Old Fashioned Christmas with black ink.

For my second card I followed the same first two steps as for my first card only using brown ink with the Light of Christmas bg and Snowflake flourish set. The final stamp I used for my collage is one of my favorites- Vintage Ornaments which was stamped with twilight ink. I also distressed all the edges with scissors just like on my first card.

I hope that I have inspired you today to create your own collage cards. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CAS Merry Christmas

Hello, Jennie here with a very CAS Christmas card. I am obviously running way behind this year on getting my Christmas cards made and mailed and finding the clean and simple is the way to go!

I made this one using Christmas Sentiments and simply alternated the color ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Peas and Carrots

Good morning!

I just love the You & Me stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  Those images and sentiments that Korin put in it are so fun and quirky... love!  When I saw this image I was reminded of this old Cosmo Cricket 6x6 paper pack with garden images on it... I don't even remember what it's called right now and I'm not sure it's still available.  But, image my delight when I saw papers with both carrots AND peas on it!  YAY - a match made in heaven! lol!

Playing on the green and orange colors, I used The Twinery's Peapod and Mandarin twines for a double bow on the tag and then 'shabby-ed' it up a bit with a doily, ribbon and rose.  Fun card and fun supplies to play with!

 Have a great day!
