First Steps

Hello there Sweet 'n Sassy fans! It's Andrea Ewen here and I first want to thank Korin for inviting me to Guest Design this month and Janette for that lovely introduction yesterday welcoming me to Sweet 'n Sassy stamps! Korin recently sent me some wonderfully uplifting, heartfelt stamps that are going to be released here soon and I couldn't wait to get them inky! As you may have read from my bio, I simply love anything vintage and shabby chic...so I decided to follow my love of that theme and pair it with a beautiful faith-based quote from Martin Luther King Jr.:

Here's a close-up of the sentiment I used:

I started off with some old favorite papers of mine, A Ladies' Diary by Graphic 45. I cut 7 varying lengths and widths of banners and distressed the edges. I then layered them onto my card base and added a strip of lace going vertically to cover up the ends. A strip of pearls adorns the lace as well. The sentiment is from a set called Faith and is stamped on a Spellbinder's Twisted Metal Tag die. I also outlined the perimeter with some Black Onyx Liquid Pearls to give it more attention. The floral detail was made with a mixture of color coordinated Kaisercraft paper flowers, tulle accents and a polka-dotted bow. Lastly, I added some pearl flourishes.

Thanks so much for sharing a part of your day with me, I'll be back next Tuesday with some more Sweet 'n Sassy wonderfulness! :)
