Building Blocks of Faith

Hello dear friends,

I know, I know!  I'm as surprised as you are!  Today is my first day as a guest designer for Sweet n Sassy Stamps.   I'm thrilled, delighted, and so thankful for the opportunity.

Today I'm sharing a sweet offering.   Hmm, what is that you ask?   I call it a gift from hand and heart to another.   And what could be better than the sweet silhouette of a child.   Today's sneak peek is a stamp and sentiment from the August release set called, God Is.    Illustrated by the talented, Dina Kowal, this is a beautiful companion to, His Child.   I know you'll want to have both of these wonderful sets in your collection.

I created this card, Building Blocks of Faith, with our sweet grandson in mind.   We had his silhouette done in May and I thought this card would be a wonderful pairing.    I chose to give this card a vintage look with a background panel from Crate Paper (Little Boy Blue) over a baby blue mat.     The silhouette image is stamped with a combination of Ranger Archival (Jet Black), and Memento (Tuxedo Black) inks on vanilla card stock.    Repeating a pattern in design is always a nice way to pull things together.   I used Spellbinders A2 Fancy Postage Stamp as my die choice; a nice compliment to the diamond pattern in the background panel.  A poppy red panel for contrast, small scalloped border, pale yellow ribbon, and a tiny red button are all this card really needs to keep it's vintage feel.

The sentiment is a beautiful reminder that even while we were in our mother's womb, God knew us.   From the hilltops to the valleys how comforting it is to know that our Lord is behind us, and goes before us.   That's a promise we can count on.    A building block of faith.

Thank you Korin for the opportunity to guest design this month.   It's the realization of a God-sized dream from a woman who found her love of art rekindled again on a garden path.

Blessings,
Susie ~
