Read a Book!

Hello again friends!

Wow!  Haven't the sample cards from the Sweet n Sassy Designers for the August release been fabulous?!  It's been a pleasure to create with them this month.

I'm back from a restful visit with my mother-in-law in southeastern Ohio.   Mom is 82 years old now and lives on a farm with her brother-in-law and her twin sister.   Uncle Ken does a wonderful job keeping up a 40 acre farm, and the twins love being near one another in their golden years.   Both are avid readers.   My card is dedicated to them today.

Sweet n Sassy Bookmark Bits and Pieces August Release Set
I've used the stamp, Travel the World Read a Book! from the Bookmark Bits and Pieces Sweet n Sassy August release set again.    But this time I created a traveling suitcase with library envelope and tags inside and placed right in the middle of my little suitcase.   Stamps cut from Graphic 45 Transatlantic collection present a nice visual aid for all the places books can take us to.   Between the pages of a book we find ourselves lost in travel, romance, and even mystery.   Destinations come alive! We're aboard the Queen Mary, riding the Orient Express, climbing the Swiss Alps.   The possibilities are endless ~ and maybe someday, someday... we'll find ourselves in those far away places. Can you imagine?

My husband and I are planning a trip to Bordeaux, France next August.   What an adventure as we trace the steps of our traveling companions great-grandfather during WWI in France.   And what fun we'll have reading and planning in the coming year to prepare.   I hope you've enjoyed my card today, and will give it a try the next time you need to send a card to someone who loves to read, or maybe to a friend who's going on a trip.  Include a little guide book with your card.   Think of all the different ways you might embellish your reading suitcase.   I'll see you back again next Tuesday with another card using a Sweet n Sassy August release stamp set.   Until then, I'm on my way again ~

Bon Voyage!
Susie ~

Great idea, Susie! I have a suitcase template that I used many years ago but I love your updated version with wheels!

This is so clever, Susie! Love the suitcase with the giraffe-like texture and the world stamps! Perfect for an avid reader! Hugs!
