Happy Easter!

Rejoice in the Lord! May all the beauty and glory of this blessed season fill your hearts with praise!  Today I have two cards...the first one I made with the Calvary die.

I found a sample I made years ago with the Tissue & Acetate (or Caught in Crystal) technique and I thought it would be perfect for the sunrise background.

I also have a sweet bunny card and a tiny treat box to share. I love the bunnies in the Springtime Babies set...
and the little chick is a perfect fit for a tiny triangle treat box (directions are here)...
May today bring you joy, many blessings, and all of the beauty of spring! Happy Easter!

Precious Poppies 'Mixed Media' style

Good Morning! It's Monika here today bringing you a 'Mixed Media' style card.
I love different styles when it comes to crafting and I love using different elements and techniques on my cards.
Mixed Media Art is one of the styles that I've been admiring for a while now. I love the creative mess and how artists can put so many different elements and textures together and make something beautiful.
I thought I'd try to make a card that has a Mixed Media feel to it. By definition, it is not a real Mixed Media card. I didn't use different artistic medias, and it's not really a collage... I just combined tools and things I had in my craft room that, I thought, would give my card a slightly different look: cheese cloth, old dictionary page, white acrylic paint, color spritzer, and label maker.

Monika/buzsy

The main image and the greeting came from one of the soon-to-be released clear stamp sets, Precious Poppies.

The poppies were stamped on a dictionary page, then colored with Copic Markers. After adhering the dictionary page to the red background, I used white acrylic paint on the dots stamp from Grunge Borders clear stamp set, and stamped the image randomly.  It's very subtle, but it gave a little bit of texture to my card. I also distressed the edges with my finger nails, spritzed some ink on the card, added cheese cloth in the corner...

The 'flags' were die cute out of Vellum with one of the dies from Pennants & More Die set. The grass was die cut with Fence & Grass Die set. Then I decided to add some words that I made with my label maker. They were stapled to the card with Tim Holtz Mini Staples.

The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS204. Please stop by and see what the Sugar Babies came up with using the same sketch!

Thanks for visiting,
Monika

Dear Friend ~

Good morning Everyone! Mary here with some spring sunshine using the newly released Flower Blocks 1. I love the bold statement of this daffodil and added one of the sentiments from this set. I sorely needed a spring in my inspiration so my card is based on a sketch from SCS,  be sure to check out more sketches for your inspiration.

My card is stamped using memento ink black and coloured using copics. I pulled papers from MME and coordinated the look beautifully. I love when a card comes together.

Thank You

Hello everyone!!! It's Joan again with my last post as Sweet 'n Sassy's March Guest Designer. This has been such a wonderful month ....I have stamped with some wonderfully talented ladies and I got to play with such fabulous stamps...ya can't get any better than that!!! I wanted to say thank you to Korin and the awesome Sweet 'n Sassy DT and what better way to do that than with some Thank You cards!!

My first card features die cut birds from the Birds and Feather Die Set. They were cut out of Chocolate Chip card stock and popped up on the Bo Bunny C'est La Vie dp that was stamped with flowers from Sweet 'n Sassy's Wildflowers set. Piercing was done with a sewing machine around the edges and the Thank You sentiment from the Butterfly Flourish set was stamped right on the paper. Twine and a button finished it off.

My second thank you card was created with stamps from the new Nature Silhouettes 2 set. The rock 'n roll technique was used for the feathers using Pool Party and Not Quite Navy inks. The sentiment was from the Butterfly Flourish set and the twine finished it off. This was very CAS but would make a great guy card!!

Thanks again to Korin and Janette for a asking me to join them for the month of March....this has been fantastic!!! I hope you have a great day!!!

Christ Arose

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!
It's Ceal here, today I am sharing a card made with the Calvary Die and the Jesus Paid It All  stamp set. To make my card, I cut out the crosses using the Calvary die and then used the negative from it. I used an embossing folder to emboss around the edges and placed patterned paper underneath and then popped it up and added it to my cardbase.

Blessings to You

Today I have a floral card to share that I made using Flower Blocks 1. This set is gorgeous and has the sweetest sentiments (and must add...LOVE the font of them!) I stamped the image twice using Versafine Oynx Black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I have become a HUGE fan of Dylusions sprays and since I am not the best color-er...I chose to spray my ink ;)  I used Dylusions Lemon Zest and Bubblegum Pink spray ink, fussy cut the flower, and paper pieced it.  Then simply added some scoring to the card base and layered on a die cut. Easy peasy...
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Paper Pieced Flower Blocks

Good morning!

Jessica here with a couple of cards that I made recently with the new Flower Blocks 1 stamp set.  Like many of you, I am in LOVE with this new floral stamp set!  It's so easy to use and makes such a statement - making the rest of the card come together like a breeze!

When I first saw the flowers, I immediately thought of how fun they would be to paper piece... so, that's what I did!  I used a variety of patterned papers to layer and pop up for dimension, adding some subtle Copic shading to help add some depth.

On the lily, I added some white liquid pearls to the stamens.

The daffodils just needed a bit of shading and then I added lots of glitter with some diamond stickles, spread just a bit with my finger after I applied it.

I shared the next two cards on my blog during our release blog hops, but thought I'd share them with you here too, so you can see all four of the images from the stamp set.

The tulip wasn't paper pieced; I stamped the entire block on the patterned paper and then added some shading to the background with a BG10 Copic marker and then added some subtle grays to the lines of the tulip for definition.  Then, some stickles were added directly onto the lines of the flower.

This last one is my favorite from the stamp set.  This flower is such a dream to layer!  I stamped it four times: once on the green striped paper and three times on the pink polka dot paper.  I added some shading with R24, R27, R29 Copic markers and then trimmed and popped up all the layers for lots of dimension, which you may be able to see a bit better on this closeup.

Pearls were added to the stamens.

Fun set of cards to make with a gorgeous stamp set!

I hope I've inspired you to pull out the set if you purchased it, and if not... maybe enticed you to purchase it? lol!

Have a great day!
Jessica

An Evening Sky

Hi everyone!  Well, Spring has officially arrived.  Maybe someone ought to tell that to the weather here in Buffalo lol.  I long for the nights I can sit outside and have a cold drink and just relax... So, I have a CAS card to share with you that reminds me of the time soon to come.

DSC00422 copy

This card uses the new Nature Silhouettes 2 set. It is very simple to create. I first punched out a small circle from a post it note to create a mask for the moon. I sponged 3 different shades of blue going from the lightest first to the darkest at the top. The image was stamped 4 different times to create some depth and then black ink was sponged on the bottom edge. I added a couple birds from the Serene Silhouettes set which is now back in stock. I triple matted the focal panel to brighten it up a bit and because I was not using any embellishments. Finally, I sprayed some glimmer mist on it for a bit of shimmer.

I just love creating sunsets, sunrises, and evening scenes with the silhouette set, they are fun to create...and easy too. I hope that you will give it a try!

Have a blessed day!

Thoughts of You

Hi, it's Bridget here today to share a "Thinking of You" card - it seems I can never have enough of these because there are always friends, loved ones, or church family members who are going through tough and difficult times.
I used the the layout for the Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers which Korin's given us today.  The  top panel has been sponged before stamping with the lovely set Long Stem Silhouettes - I love these flowers, they're incredibly easy to use either with stamp pads or with markers.
I then spritzed the whole thing with some acrylic paint, trying for sort of a rain washed effect.
The sentiment is from the SNSS set God's Purpose
The sketch has two banners along the bottom of the top panel which I've tweaked by using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Grass die and Fence die - love that sweet little picket fence!
It's Hump Day, the week is half way over - hope it's been a good one so far for you!  Thanks for stopping by today!
Supplies include:
SNSS Grass Die
SNSs Fence Die
Stampin Up Lucky Limeade, Cool Caribbean ink
Stampin Up Lucky Limeade, Taken with Teal card stock
Sewing machine
Twine
Button
Sizzix Plaid embossing folder

Birds of a Feather

Hello everyone...Joan here with another card made with the Nature Silhouettes 2 set....don't you just love all the silhouette stamps in this set!!!!

The foliage stamp was stamped on the black card stock with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. This layer was adhered to a piece of Hawaiian Shores card stock and then popped up on the white card base with foam tape. The bird images were stamped with Pumpkin Pie and Bermuda Bay inks and then cut out with the coordinating dies......they were then popped up with foam dots. The sentiment is from the Flowers in Bloom set and the twine and button finish it off.

I have another card I wanted to share with you. This is a card I made for the Free 4 All challenge last Friday on Splitcoast. The challenge was to make a music themed project with blue. Of course, my first thought was to make a card with the bird and wildflower silhouettes from my favorite Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps set and one of my favorite color combos is navy, light blue, and white!! Stamps and dies from the  Nature Silhouettes 2 set and the Bird and Feather Die Set were used along with a sentiment from the Wildflowers set. A music note punch, music score embossing folder, and an oval diecut finish it off.

Thanks so much for visiting the Sweet 'n Sassy  blog today.....I hope you have a great day and happy stamping!!!

CAS Silhouettes

Hello friends!  It's Cathy here with several clean and simple cards to share with you today. Many talented stampers, like our fearless leader, Korin, have mastered this technique and seem to effortlessly create such gorgeous CAS cards.  I, on the other hand, seem to struggle with this technique.  I always want to fill that white space with more layers or embellishments.  LOL!  BUT...Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' line of silhouette stamps have helped me tremendously with this style...love how quick and easy these can be used to create beautiful CAS cards.  For my samples today, I used the newly released clear stamp set, Nature Silhouettes 2...LOVE this set!

For this card, the frame was masked and the grass and clouds were sponged on.  The other images were then stamped using London Fog and Onyx Black inks.   Couldn't resist adding the piercing and the twine!

Strokes of Distress inks were brushed on watercolor paper before stamping the images and the sentiment.  Easy Peasy!

A CAS Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers provided the inspiration for this card.  Some gradient sponging was done on a panel before cutting it into three sections.  Clouds were sponged on the background and the music score was stamped.  The sentiment was stamped on the middle section.  The Birds and Feather dies were used to add the contrasting elements.

The ultimate inspiration for this technique comes from God's glorious creation and this stamp set perfectly reflects that.  Hope you've been inspired to try your own CAS creations!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Hugs,
Cathy

Give Thanks

Hi everyone, Kim here wishing you a blessed Sunday!  Today I'm sharing a "blast from the past" card.  This is a card that I created maybe over a year ago but have never shared on the Sweet 'n Sassy blog.  Today's weather was so beautiful and full of sunshine that I just had to find a card that reminded me of spring to showcase on today and this one was perfect!

This stunning bird and cherry blossom image is from the Praise the Lord stamp set and for those of us living in New England, the arrival of warmer weather is certainly a cause for praise and thanksgiving!  It truly is so good to hear the chirping of birds again outside our windows.

I colored my image with Copic markers and combined the main panel with designer paper from October Afternoon.  The tiny sentiment on this card isn't actually included in the set but is one that I keep on hand for I only have space for a small saying.  The set actually includes five sentiments, one of which is a wonderful portion of Psalm 28.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and that the birds are joyfully singing in your neck of the woods today!
