I stamped and embossed the images using Versafine Oynx Black and clear embossing powder. Then I colored the flowers using Faber Castell Big Brush markers. This stamp set lends itself to so many fun techniques!!

Feeling Better

Good morning!

Jessica here, popping in today to share a card that I made recently with the adorable Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Special Blend stamp set. The get well sentiment is from Poppies and Greetings.

I colored the image in with Copics, using the patterned papers from October Afternoon as my inspiration.  The Twinery's Buttercream twine was a great match to the soft yellows on the flower and paper.

I hope you are feeling well today!

Red and Turquoise

Hello, it's Bridget here with a couple of cards using one of my favorite color combinations!
I always smile when my Dad says something along the lines of - "this is the best pie (steak, pizza, cake, cookie, or whatever is being consumed!) I've ever eaten!"
Whatever he's eating at the moment is the best he's ever had!
Well, I'm a little bit like that with color combo's - whatever I'm working with at the moment
feels like it's my very favorite!
But I do like red and turquoise because of the strong contrast.
For the first card I used Stampin Up markers to color the image from Nature Silhouettes 2.
I added a sentiment from The Gift of You set, which has many beautiful sentiments highlighting the beauty and love of adoption.
The is one of Korin's Cards for a Cause sets and you can find all about it HERE.
But I thought this particular sentiment would work very well for situations where either a couple or a group were praying for someone.
I know that our ladies discipleship study likes to let the person
who's asked us to pray for them know that we've been doing exactly that!
Other supplies include:
Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Labels 8
American Crafts jute twine
Woodware butterfly punch
Memento Tuxedo Black ink

My second card is made using the Birds and Feather Die set and a wonderful Bible verse sentiment from the beautiful set Under His Wings.
I think all of the verses in this set work together beautifully with the feather and bird die-cuts!
I sponged the feathers with Stampin Up's Real Red and Taken with Teal ink and then added some multi-colored twine.
The little heart button seemed appropriate for a verse highlighting God's love!
Whatever your weekend holds I hope it's a good one for you!
Thanks for stopping by today.

May All Your Weeds Be Wildflowers

Greetings everyone and welcome to another fabulously **sweet** post!  Today I'm sharing a card I created after learning about a new technique at a recent Ranger training day (yes, it was fun!!)  This is called the gesso resist technique, shown on the background, and it's created by using gesso and Distress Stains.

I also created a  video on this technique, which you can see here, but the basic concept is that once the gesso has been applied to a surface, it will act as a resist when you put a water-based color over the top, such as Distress Stains.  Fun stuff, right!

Once my gesso and stain was dry, I distressed the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and used Archival Ink to stamp the beautiful floral image from the Wildflowers stamp set on top of the background design.  Oh, I did also very lightly stamp the Friendship Script stamp on the background first.  You can just barely see if behind the flowers...love the soft look of the text in the background!

I attached the entire stamped piece with foam tape and then just added the sentiment, which is included with the Wildflowers set, also using foam tape for a bit of dimension.

Thanks so much for visiting today and I hope you enjoyed the card and technique!

Parade of Poppies

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy Friends!  Have you noticed how poppies are popping up everywhere? Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has several fabulous new poppy stamp sets as well as some old favorites that can be used in many different ways and for many different occasions  I thought I would share several cards made with these stamp sets with you today!

The first card uses the new Precious Poppies stamp set,  Mini Tags & Sentiments,  Mini Tags Die Set, and Friendship Script Background.  Although I love using my Copics, this card was white embossed on Kraft card sock and watercolored with reinkers.  The colors seem to get a little more vibrant on the Kraft card stock with this technique.

And speaking of vibrant, this poppy colored with Copics seems to be popping right off the card!  The Poppy Background stamp was used behind the lattice, and the large poppy from Precious Poppies was used in the middle.

The final card uses an old time favorite, Poppies & Greetings.  The image was stamped several times across the middle panel and colored with Copic Markers.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit with us today!  I hope you've been inspired by this Parade of Poppies!

Blessings to you....and have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Cathy

Play. Laugh. Repeat.

Hello!  Today I have 2 different cards.  I love this image in the first one!  Play. Laugh. Repeat... what a great sentiment to accompany the awesome silhouettes in the set called His Child.  I adore the playful nature of this set!

The second card was for my neice who turned 16.  The cupcake dies are so fun to play with!  I also used a Mini Tag die and "sweet" is from Mini Tags and Sentiments.

Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone!  Sorry for the late post today, and I am afraid it is going to be a quick post as well.  My husband and I share an office and the other day we decided to move it around and switch sides as to better suit both of our needs.  Anyway, I am living in a bit of disarray and have not found everything yet, including some of my computer stuff.

So, today I would like to share a card with you using the new Birthday Bash set and coordinating dies as well as the Script Birthdays for the sentiment.

I die cut the top of the cupcake and embossed the frosting with iridescent ice embossing powder- so sparkly and pretty!

Well, I am off to my daughter's soccer game.  Thanks for dropping by and have a blessed Sunday!

Wildflowers Encouragement ~

Good Morning everyone! Mary here with a quick and easy project. I was at the Heirloom show last weekend and got to meet many of you! At our make and take table, we made two styles of very pretty silhouette cards and I must say, I am addicted! I love how each one turns out unique and so pretty!

So, I created 3x3 notecards with a matching tote. You can find directions for these adorable totes right here. I created mine from the youtube video, simply because I learn better that way. You know, I multi task. lol.

The 3x3 cards are perfect for those quick notes to tuck into meals you might make for friends or slip into lunch boxes or a co-worker's desk. You might want one for yourself or make one for a quick gift. Super easy to create!

If you get any crafting done and you use any of Sweet'nSassy stamps please be sure to let us know on FB or SCS. We love to see what you create!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!
Mary ~

I gold embossed this and used my spellbinders squares to cut this out and fancy square to mount it on. The design on the side is from K & Company. and used some ribbon on the bottom I got from the dollar bin at Michael's.

Lord Blesses

Hello, Jennie here and today I have a couple of cards to share that I made using the stamps that were just released!

I used the stamp set Anniversary Innies and some Teresa Collins patterned paper. The sentiment was highlighted by die cutting an ivory panel with a Spellbinders die, sponging and adding some bling!

This second card features the stamp set Precious Poppies. I stamped/embossed the flower image using Versamark and clear embossing powder and then colored them with Gelatos from Faber Castell Design Memory Craft (those cool chapstick tubes of coloring medium). Super fun technique!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

His Child

Good morning!

Jessica here popping in to share a couple of cards that I made using the new His Child stamp set.  Dina hit it out of the ball park with this adorable stamp set... the silhouette images and the sentiments she included in the set makes it a must have in my collection!

I choose to go with some spring colors for my cards today, pulling the colors from the patterned paper tag die cuts.  After stamping the images in my favorite black ink (Versafine), the cards kind of fell together with the minimal embellishments I added to finish them off.

I hope the sentiments on my cards today stick with you throughout your day and remind you how much God loves you!

Have a wonderful rest of your day!
Jessica

Birthday Cupcake

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a birthday card.
What a fabulous release we had this month. Did you have a chance to check out all the awesome stamps and dies?
One of my favorites are the Birthday Bash clear stamp set and coordinating Birthday Bash Die set.

I love the cupcake images and dies. They are so easy to use and you can mix 'n match them as you please.

On today's card, I stamped the bottom of the cupcake and die-cut the frosting and the 'muffin' part.
First I stamped the cupcake 'liner' on the tag... then I stamped the tag with Music Background clear stamp using VersaMark ink... and heat embossed it with clear powder. Next I sponged some light blue ink around the edges and spritzed dark blue ink on top.

I really like the sweet tag dies (Mini Tags Die set) from the April release so I just had to through some tags on the card... as embellishments...

With so many images to choose from, you can easily find something to stamp inside of the card. I used a sentiment from the brand new Birthday Innies clear stamp set along the balloons from the Birthday Bash set and another die-cut tag.

The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS205. Please stop by and see what the Sugar Babies came up with using the fun sketch this week.

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Our Father in Heaven!

Hello, it's Bridget here with the first post after our fun April Release Mini Blog Hops!
I hope you enjoyed all the inspiration from the Design Team with the new sets.
Today I'd like to show you a couple of cards I created with the sentiments from the
new set His Child combined with some other SNSS sets.
I love these wonderful truths about our relationship with our heavenly Father
through Jesus, and though the silhouttes of the children are fabulous, I wanted to show
how flexible the sentiments are with many different images and die-cuts.
For the first card I added an embossed heart to highlight the
love of God mentioned in the sentiment, using SNSS's Heart Die Set -
love all the sizes and shapes in this set of dies!
The sentiment panel is popped up over two dp panels, and to finish I added a trio of buttons.
It was a quick, easy card, and there's plenty of creamy white space for a clean look.

Supplies include:
Sizzix Plaid embossing folder
Buttons
October Afternoon dp
MFT Color Box Licorice Black ink
Smooth Cream card stock

For the second card I sponged a panel with green ink along the bottom, then stamped with several images from Nature Silhouettes.
Using clouds from SNSS's Cloud and Raindrops Die Set I masked and sponged a sky scene, then popped up a couple of clouds.
To finish I added a fence die-cut using SNSS's Fence and Grass Die Set and a few sponged punched butterflies.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope your day is a good one!

Supplies include:
Stampin Up Lucky Limeade ink
Ranger Distress Broken China ink
Stampin Up Melon Mambo ink
Martha Stewart Butterfly punch
