Wired Balloon Bouquet

Hi, it's Bridget here to share a card with you today!
I had so much fun making this, I know I'll be making MANY more and it's so easy!
I used Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Birthday Bash dies to cut the balloons and then sponged them with ink, leaving a bit of white to give the illusion of depth and reflected light.
I've found it helps to build up the color while sponging, applying a lighter layer, then a going back over it, but not sponging just as far inside the edges.  Then go back and do it again, just hitting the edges slightly.  Or if you have an ink pad that's just a slightly darker shade, that can be applied at the edges.  The more contrast of light to dark, the more there's an illusion of depth.
Another tip for sponging - always come down with your sponge or sponging tool outside the actual piece you're working on and move inwards onto it, this helps avoid smudged ink areas.
The balloons are popped up in different layers so there's a lot of dimension.
I atttached wire to make a balloon bouquet - this works beautifully if you
curl the wire too for a different look!
If I'm curling wire I usually use a paintbrush handle for sweet little loops.
I made a wee tag with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Tiny Tags and Sentiments stamps and dies. - love these little dies and sentiments!  For this very tiny tag, I clipped the end of it so that it was extra small!
The background embossing is my favourite at the moment - Spellbinders M-bossibilities So Trendy!
It's a beautiful sunny day here in Northern Ireland and in a country where we have so many overcast and rainy days, we're all enjoying the sunshine immensely!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, whatever the weather in your area, I hope it's a good one for you!
Other Supplies include:

Happy Father's Day

Is it too early to start planning for Father's Day?  I think not!  Today I'm sharing a card featuring the great images from the Timeless Classic stamp set.  Isn't that truck image amazing?

I created the background by stamping the gears on white cardstock, using VersaMark, and then used clear embossing powder to emboss the images.  I then grabbed a few inks from my Distress Ink stash and blended a few colors over the cardstock.  The embossed images resist the ink and voila...instant custom background paper!

The card was stamped on cardstock and colored with Copics.  Then came the assembly process!  I also punched a few stars out of black cardstock, using the Stars Die Set.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and you were inspired to create your own Father's Day cards!

Criss Crossing the Miles

Hello Everyone!
Where did the time go??  Today is my last day posting as Sweet 'n Sassy's Guest Designer.  I am so grateful for the opportunity and I had so much fun!
The first card I am sharing today uses the Across the Miles set by Dina Kowal.  I have to admit, this is my favorite set of the release.  I am partial to maps!

I am also drawn to the arrow stamp, as you can see in this card!  I found my color scheme from a wonderful site called Design Seeds.  I stamped my arrows in a pattern, then added the plane.  The sentiment is stamped in black and then in Blushing Bride, offsetting the stamp just a bit to give it a shadow effect.
The next card uses the Head in the Clouds set as well as the matching dies.

I stamped the cloud images in craft white ink, embossed with white ep and then die cut them out.  I did not have a sun die, so I die cut out two stars with my Sizzix dies and overlapped the points of the stars to create the sun rays. I punched a circle for the sun.  A little stitching and a felt bow to mimic the kite tails in the dp and the card is done!
You can get more details on my blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

kid cards

It's my turn to share some cards and today I have some cards that I made for kids.  First I used the Gifts From Turtle stamp set to make a card for a "turtle-ly" cute kid who turned 3...

I also made a kite shaped card (I love shaped cards!) using directions that a friend of mine found by Kelly Gettelfinger.  I used the grasshopper and a sentiment from the Buggin' Ya stamp set.

The fold is on the top left side of the kite.  I used a Copic marker to highlight the word "hoppy" and make some dots on the scallops.  Some stickles were added to the blue strips.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have fun making some cards for kids of your own!
♥ Diane

Worthwhile Adventures ~

Hi Everyone! Mary here with a quick and easy card using the newly released Landscape Silhouettes and dkDesign Across the Miles. The multiple images between the two sets give endless options to the cards you can create. It would be appropriate to say I haven't even begun to delve into the possibilities!

I chose my card stock base to create the nautical look I wanted to achieve. The designer paper from SU is cut down to fit the base leaving some base colour showing. Next, I stamped the lighthouse silhouette directly onto the coordinating designer paper using versafine black. I trimmed it to fit the base and distressed the edges and layered it onto matching card stock. Lay this aside. I stamped the arrows and the mariners wheel to continue the theme on the card base.  Lastly, I stamped the quote above the lighthouse silhouette. I wrapped bakers twine on one end of the focal piece and adhered it onto the prepared base.

Enjoy your day!
~ Mary

Materials Used:
stamps: Landscape Silhouettes, Across the Miles
Inks: Versafine black
Paper: SU cardstock, SU DSP
Accessories: Bakers Twine, Paper distresser

Feel better!

Hello! Giovana here with a feel better card. I used a brand new "Buggin' Ya" set. For my card I used this week's sketch from "The  Sweet Stop".

I colored the image with Copic markers, then die-cut and embossed it Square Dies. I masked the image with Drywall tape and sponged the edges, added Crystal Lacquers, then added green sequins :) Also added a twine bow.

The papers are from My Mind's Eye

Hope you like it!
Have a fantastic day!

School's Almost Out!

Hello Everyone!
With the end of the school year upon us, I thought I would share a card using the Buggin' Ya set, that I have done with two different sentiments.  The first would make a great Thank You for a teacher and has the added bonus of being quick and easy!  The sentiment is from the Precious Poppies set.

The second card uses a sentiment from the  Buggin' Ya set.

The apple seeds are made using the raindrops from the cloud and raindrop dies and the worms are paper pieced.
I also have a card to share with you featuring the ever versatile Landscape Silhouettes set.

The nearer the end of the school year becomes, the more I have the travel bug. This card reminds me of starting out on a travel adventure.  As I live in the midwest, anywhere I travel means having to drive through America's heartland, passing many miles of farmland. I stamped the farm scene on a yellow cardstock circle and then sponged yellows and oranges to create the sunset.  The sentiment is from the Across the Miles set.
You can get more details on these card on my blog

I am so glad you could stop by today!  I hope I have inspired you!

New Beginning and Long Stem Silhouttes

Hi there and thanks for stopping by! It's Ceal here to share a CAS card with you. For my card I used the New Beginnings set along with the matching dies. The sentiment is from another beautiful set Long Stem Silhouettes.  I added some bling to the butterfly bodies because the recipiient of this card loves bling.

Praying for You

Good morning!

It's Jessica popping in with a bright 'thinking of you' card to share with you today that I made with these gorgeous flowers from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Flowers in Bloom stamp set.  The sentiment is from Poppies and Greetings stamp set, which I stamped in black Stazon on vellum.

I stamped the images and colored with Copic markers.  Then, I stamped the flowers and butterfly again on Vellum with black Stazon ink.  Before cutting out the images, I colored the back of the vellum with some Copic markers matching the ones I used on the original images and then glued the paper pieced images on top.

I've never paper pieced with vellum before and was pretty tickled to see how well it worked.  It's hard to see the dimension in the photos, but the delicate flower petals and butterfly wings add a nice touch.  When I was finished I added some copper stickles (glitter glue) and spread it just a bit with my finger.

Have a great day!
Jessica

Buggin' Ya and Landscape Silhouettes...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you couple of cards using some of the new stamp sets.

My first card is a super cute one, using Buggin' Ya and Landscape Silhouettes clear stamp sets. The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS211

 BugginYouLadybug2

I also used Clouds & Raindrops Die set along with one of the Postage Stamp dies from Spellbinders. To add dimension to my card, I stamped the head twice, cut it out, then attached it to the main image with dimensional tape. The carapace (wings) is covered with Crystal Effects. The greeting is heat embossed with white embossing powder.

My second card has a totally different look! Simple and clean. I used the EXACT same colors as on my first one, but what a dramatic difference!

LandscapeSilhouettesbarn

This time I used Landscape Silhouettes with Be Encouraged clear stamp set. The main image and greeting were heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The colors came from ColourQ Challenges #189.

Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend,

 Monika

Tropical Paradise

Hello, it's Bridget here with a card for you today!
When it came time for my turn to post on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog there was really no question of which stamp set I'd highlight - it just HAD to be Landscape Silhouettes,
my very favorite set at the moment!
I can't begin to tell you the fun I've already had with this set, and though it may be out there, I don't see anything comparable in the stampy world at the moment - it has so much variety and the possibilites for creative fun are endless!
It's available for pre-order now and I don't think you have too long to wait before you can get hold of it!
I stamped the palm tree beach scene once to the left.
I then stamped it slightly lower down on the right.  Because this second image left a straight line at the left edge of the silhouette, I colored in a bit of beach going down to the water
with a black marker.
Using post-it-notes I masked the sky at the upper horizon to be able to sponge the water, leaving white space between the pink and the green ocean - this gives the illusion of light reflecting.
I then made a circle using a post-it-note for the sun and sponged the sky colours.
Afterwards I took the negative die-cut of the circle which was cut from the post-it-note and placed it over the uninked circle of the sun.  This allowed me to sponge pink in the circle for the sun.
The sentiment is from another absolutely fantastic set, Be Encouraged.
This is another set I've only had for a few weeks but have already used time and time again - each sentiment highlights God's faithfulness and love, and a card couldn't carry a more precious message, other than Scripture itself!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
