a cheerful giver

Hello!  Today I am sharing a card using one of my newly released Digi images.  I have to say that this is one of my favorite snowmen...mostly because he is in the company of a sweet bunny who decided to share his carrot!  A snowman must have a carrot nose, right?

One great thing about digi images is that you can make them any size you want.  I wanted to make this image big and keep it simple, with the focus staying on the gift.  As I printed it out, this verse came to mind...

2 Corinthians 9:6-7     The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

This was intended as a thank you card but I think it also conveys what we feel in our heart as we share God's love.

If you are a fan of Digital images, go check them out in the SNSS store.  And if you'd rather work with stamps & ink... this is also available in the Snowy Hello stamp set!

Thanks for popping in…happy stamping!

Forest Silhouettes Scene

Hello! It's Monika here today with a fantastic scene I built with dies. I love stamping, but these days I am crazy about dies. I love the sharp lines the dies can cut, the sweet images... oh, I get so excited looking at my box full of these metal pieces.

I decided to create a masculine scene for a frame I got at Ikea ages ago.

I wanted dimensions so I used different colored cardstocks and lots of foam adhesive.

The background was sponged with Peacock Feather Ranger distressed ink, then was blended with a wet paintbrush.

Can you spy all the different die sets I used? Ok, you don't have to guess... here they are: Forest Silhouettes, Bare Tree, Fence & Grass, Hillside Edges die sets. The verse is from Our Refuge clear stamp set.

I hope I inspired you to create something.
Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

Sending Lots of Love

Happy Tuesday!

I am loving my time as guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  Thank you or making me feel so welcome!

I used two different digi sets for my card.  My main image - the cutie pie flowers are called Doodle Flowers and it is a digi stamp..  This was a very easy image to color.  I'm sure it took less than 30 minutes!  I totally enjoyed adding just a bit of shading to each flower.

My sentiment is the Sending Love digi stamp..  I love the font and I think you will too.  I am a sucker for cute fonts!!

So that's it for me today.  I think you could use this as a Valentine or just a friendship card.  What do you think?

Be sure to check out all the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps digis.  And while you're there, take a peek at the wonderful clear stamps too!

Happy stamping!

A Sneak Peek

Happy Saturday Sweet 'N Sassy friends!  Angie here with a little sneak peek of a new Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps bundle to be released Friday the 29th!  The stamp sets are from Krista Hamrick and are part of the new SNSS Creative Worship Bible Journaling brand!!

Even though the new stamp sets are amazing for Bible art journaling they can be used to create whatever your imagination dreams up so for  my little sneaky peek I created a corner bookmark.

I stamped my image, masked it and swished my paper in leftover Brusho's watercolor that was on my craft mat from a previous project.  After it was dry I removed the mask and colored this beautiful image.

That's it for me today, I hope you have a fabulous weekend and don't forget to check back next Friday so that you can preorder your bundle!

Brrrrrr! Baby It's Cold Outside

Hello sweet friends!  If you live on the east coast, you know we are expected to get hit with a very BIG snow storm today!  Now…while freshly fallen snow is beautiful to look at, I for one do NOT enjoy shoveling two feet of the stuff!  So, my card creation for today is a reflection of how I feel about the looming forecast.

The snowy looking background was created by sprinkling Color Burst pigments through a stencil and spritzing them with water.  A few more splatters were added to fill in some of the empty spaces.  The sentiments and the darling image are from the Winter with Winnie stamp set available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp Store.  The large sentiment panel was cut with one of the very versatile Decorative Plaques Dies.  The design was inspired by last week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge.  The curves creating the open space for the sentiments were made with the Hillside Edges Dies.

Now for a sweet change of pace, you may not have seen these cards made with two of the new digital images just released:

This new Cocoa Sends Love and Sending Love Sentiment images are perfect for sending lots of love!  The tag was cut with one of the Mini Tags Dies.

How sweet is this?  The Sweet as Candy and Candy Sentiments digital images are economical and fun to work with because you can move them around and resize them as needed.

I hope you've enjoyed today's samples!
Stay safe and stay warm!

Hugs,
Cathy

Snowman Soup Kit

{jane bosi}  Happy Wednesday, Sweet Friends!  I have to admit, I'm still a gifting kind of mood!  I love to think up fun little gifts to give the people in my life! And sometimes, I just love the process of creating a dimensional item like a box or this test tube tote!

The Test Tube holder has long been a favorite project of mine.  I loosely followed THIS TUTORIAL from Splitcoaststampers.  I say loosely because my test tubes are considerably smaller than the ones used in the tutorial.  I had to adjust some of the measurements, but it worked out just fine.  These tubes were perfect, however, for me to create this very special Snowman Soup Kit!

The blustery days of winter here in Central Wisconsin make hot cocoa the perfect any time drink!  Each tube can be filled with 1) Cocoa 2) Mini Marshmellows 3) Tiny chocolate chips or crushed peppermint candies!

To complete the project, SNSS's Snowman Soup with matching dies are just perfect!!  And, to make it even easier, you can also get these super fantastic images in digital format....RIGHT AWAY!  Images used are:  Snowman in Mug and Snowman Soup.  Go on......get inky!

Be awesome!  TTFN  Jane

I Love You More Than...

Happy Tuesday!

I am so honored to be a guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for the next few weeks. My passion is card making, so I have plenty of stamps and digi stamps.  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is one of my favorites and I especially love the digis.

I used two different digi sets for my card.  My jelly beans are from the Sweet as Candy set.  Can you believe how adorable these images are??  They are perfect for coloring.  For mine, I used Copic markers, but there are so many more mediums from which to choose.

My sentiment is from the Candy Sentiments 2 set.  Can you even imagine how many valentines you could make with these sets?  And the advantage to digi stamps is the ability to resize images and sentiments.  I even broke my sentiments apart before printing.

I hope you like my valentine today.  I had a blast making it and adding just a bit of bling to get it ready for sending to a sweet friend.

Be sure to check out ALL the Valentine's Day digis.  And while you're there, take a peek at the wonderful clear stamps too!

Happy stamping!

Cocoa's Heart - I {Heart} You :-)

Happy Monday Sweet ‘n Sassy Friends!

Julie here and since we just celebrated a new Digital Stamp Release this past week, I thought I would share a fun Valentine’s Day card that I created with some of the digital stamps that were already in stock- Cocoa’s Heart and Valentine’s Day Greeting.

Did you know that Sweet ‘n SassyStamps has over 200 exclusive digital stamp images (also known as “digi’ or “digi's”) in the online store?

Are you intimidated by digi stamps?

You do not need to be...they are so easy to use and you can print them out and color them just like a normal stamp image.

One thing I personally love about digi stamps is that you can re-size them to fit your design- for this card, I printed out the Cocoa’s Heart image along with cropping the sentiment from the Valentine’s Day Greeting set.

FYI- I did re-size both images for this card and before printing them on my white cardstock, I also inserted other images onto the document (I can use the other images for several cards in the future :-)).

Also, were you aware that you can color digi images with watercolor pencils, sponging, ink with a water brush (Distress Inks, etc.), alcohol markers, regular colored pencils (plain or with Gamsol)- basically any medium that you use for regular stamps.

I print my images out with an inkjet printer, so the only tip I can recommend regarding coloring digital images would be not to saturate the image with too much water or get too close to the printed lines with water (the printer ink can bleed a bit into the coloring medium if it is too wet).

I decided to color the Cocoa’s Heart image using Spectrum Noir™ Alcohol Markers and used a Faber-Castell® Pitt Penn marker to add the border.

After coloring, I “fussy-cut” out the heart and mounted the image onto white cardstock and cut around the heart by hand to create a white border.

I wanted to add some shimmer, so I used a waterbrush to paint Frost White Shimmer Paint over the entire heart (but tried to avoid Cocoa)...it is a bit difficult to see the shimmer in the photo (fyi- I also added Crystal Effects® to Cocoa’s nose, but again, this is difficult to see in the photo :-)).

The sentiment from Valentine's Day Greetings was printed and banners were created with a hexagon punch (although you can also create really fun banners with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Banner Dies- these are on my "wish list").

I mounted the banner onto a piece of black cardstock and layered everything onto the card using the Splitcoaststampers’ SC568 Sketch Challenge for inspiration.

I hope we have inspired you to try some of the digital images for yourself- if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Hugs and have a blessed week, sweet friends!!

Bible Journaling Sunday - How Sweet It Is

Happy Sunday friends! My name is Rebecca and in my very first blog post here on the SNSS blog! I'm so excited to share with you a page I created in my Bible using our newly released digi stamps.

I chose the beginning of the book of Ephesians because of the way the words poured over me: "he chose us", "he predestined us", "riches of his grace", "spiritual blessing", all of which He lavishes on us...me! I simply used my iPhone as a light box to lightly trace my purchased images into my Bible's margins. This method makes it easy for resizing! A piece of plastic tied with baker's twine adds fun dimension to my lollipop and Glossy Accents adds just the right amount of interest to my wrapped candy at the bottom. Splatters of coordinating watercolor are my finishing touch. Aren't these sweet candies so friendly??! Feel free to comment below with any questions on this page!

I paws-itively love you

Hello!  January is flying by and my thoughts are turning to Valentine's Day.  It will be upon us quick!

Today I am sharing a card using my Valentine Critters stamp set which also has coordinating dies.

This is a 4 1/4" square card with some Box Pleats on the strip of floral patterned paper.  I started with a strip that is 1 1/2" x 12".

Using a Scor-Pal scoring board, I scored the strip at the following marks- 1, 1 1/2, 2 1/2, 3, 4, 4 1/2, 5 1/2, 6, 7, 7 1/2, 8 1/2, 9, 10, 10 1/2, and 11 1/2 inches.  You will fold with a mountain/valley/valley/mountain pattern to look like this:

I made this card before the matching dies were available but now I love being able to cut the images so quickly and cleanly!

Thanks for popping in…happy stamping!
♥  Diane
