Surrounded in Prayer

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy Stampers!
It's Ceal here to share with you today featuring the Surrounded in Prayer set. I created two different cards with it for two of my friends who are battling two different types of cancer.
The cool thing about this set is that first it was created to Honor one of our team members who battled breast cancer and second $10 from the sale of each stamp goes to help (read below)

To create the first card I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel. I stamped the image from the Surrounded in Prayer set on the panel, masked it off and then using a Life Changing Blender Brush I blended some Sea Glass ink around the image.  I removed the mask, colored the image using Copic markers and then added the greeting to finish the card.

To create the second card, I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel. I stamped the greeting from the Surrounded in Prayer set in the center of the panel and then again using the Life Changing Blender Brush I blended some Passionate Pink ink around it. Next I stamped the ribbon also from the Surrounded in Prayer set using Gina K embossing in and embossing it with white embossing powder. I stamped the daisies from the Delightful Daisies set using Bubblegum pink around the outer portion of the panel to finish the card.

Thinking of You Card

Hi Sweet 'n Sassy friends! It's Julee here, popping in with a little share of a card using an old favorite, but new to me set.

***THIS POST CONTAINS COMPENSATED AFFILIATE LINKS AT NO COST TO YOU***
This Poppies & Greetings set is so delightful. Beautiful images, and sweet sentiments sized just right for cardmaking. A winning set in my book.

This card is the current Mojo Monday card sketch challenge on my blog, Poetic Artistry. I started by making my focal circle stamping the poppies image, then die cutting the circle so there would be enough room to add the sentiment to the cop of the circle. I then colored the flowers with Copic markers and matted this piece with a doily die cut in black.

The other layers on the card are patterned paper, matted with white and then I used a few strips of washi as the horizontal element on the card. Super fun, and those poppies are just so elegant.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. If you haven't heard, Sweet 'n Sassy is having a FREE first class shipping promo through April 30 on US orders $20 and over. There's a shipping discount for international peeps, too! Something for everyone. 😊 Use code SP19SHIP in the SNSS shop for savings!

Peaceful Peonies

Hello everyone! Today I want to share two cards I made with the Peaceful Peonies stamp set.

I stamped the images on marker paper and I used a die to cut the rectangles out of the paper. For the first card I only colored the part that's inside the die cut. I really like the contrast between the black and white background and the colored part. I only added a red ribbon and a couple of sequins to finish this card and to add a bit more color.
For the second card I used the message from John 14:27 that's in the stamp set and stamped it beneath the flower. I colored the flower and added a couple of patterned papers to give the card a bit more color in the background. I kept the rest of the card clean and simple so the focus goes to the message and the flower.
I used the stamp set Peaceful Peonies

Surrounded in Prayer

Hi Friends!

Hi Friends! Today I have more projects (CAS to more complex) for you using the same stamp set. Today I am using Surrounded in Prayer which is a great stamp set AND it is for a cause..

My first project is a clean and simple card. I used the sentiment and ribbon from the Surrounded in Prayer set then, to frame it, I used a short border stamp from the Hymn Block set. It is so fun when you are able to use those little stamps from one set on project after project and in different ways! Do you have some sets you can stretch?

Recipe :
  • Paper – Neenah Solar White card stock
  • Image – Surrounded in Prayer and Hymn Block
  • Ink – Stamped image with Gina K Amalgam Ink And Copics (RV02, RV04, RV06, RV17)
  • My background paper is cut with an AJVD rectangle die and Spellbinders Square Die

My Second project is a mixed media art journal page in my 6x6 disc bound journal. This one has a fun layer that make me smile out loud! I found a free copy of Amazing Grace online, printed it and used gel medium to adhere it to my journal page (I put gel medium under it and on top of it) Then I started building from there. A layer of Distress Oxide spray, splattered and edged with ink, some fun washi tape and my favorite elements - the people (colored with Copics) and the sentiment (cut apart and put down in pieces) from the Surrounded in Prayer set. I wanted the characters to look like they were singing soooo I looked through my stamp sets until I found a solid circle (the period in the Chunky Alpha set - woo hoo, how about that!)  I love the colors in this one and I LOVE the song peaking through

Here it is a little close - see the music! So happy right now!!

Recipe :
  • Background - Gel Medium (Golden) and sheet music of Amazing Grace (printed on copy paper)
  • Background ink - Distrss Oxide Spray Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo
  • Splatters - White Pebeo acrylic and Black Dylusion Paint
  • Image and Sentiment - Surrounded in Prayer and Chunky Alpha "Surround" is embossed with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and clear Embossing Powder
  • Main image colored with Copics
  • Washi Tape - By Grace from Illustrated Faith
  • Outline image with Stabilo All Pencil and water brush
I hope you are inspired today. Think about the all the little elements from your various stamp sets and use them in a new way!! Just have fun doing it!!

Thanks for stopping by!

I don't know about you but sometimes I loose my mojo when I go to create a card and often turn to sketches for inspiration.  My lovely teammate, Julee Tilman, creates the MOJOSKETCH and I thought that I would play along and share how I was inspired.  This sketch was perfect to use up those paper scraps you have and to spotlight a sentiment like "Happy Mother's Day".  If you would like to play along you can find her post HERE.

Delightful Daisies

Hello! It's Monika here today showcasing Delightful Daisies clear stamp set.

I wanted something bright and cheerful. I started out with heat embossing the flower image with white embossing powder on water color card stock. Next, using Jane Davenport Mermaid water color brush, I loosely (and very messily) colored the flower in then spritzed it with water and let it dry overnight... you get such an organic and cool look this way... it's different every time as you can't really (easily) control the flow of the color... after the image dried, I fussy cut it...

The background was stamped with Texture Tiles 2 clear stamp set... I just repeatedly stamped the image to cover the area... it is a very forgiving image so you don't have to be super careful with it...

I stamped the greeting on a die cut tag (retired SNSS die) and adhered the tag to the stem... then adhered a baker's twine bow to the tag. To further embellish my card, I added black Nuvo drops.

I hope I have inspired you to craft today!

Thank you for stopping by!

Have a blessed Easter celebration! HE LIVES!

Monika

Trapped Resist...Two Ways

Hello sweet friends!  Cathy here with two cards to share using some of the stamp sets from the SNSS April Release.  I was reminded of the Joseph's Coat Technique after watching a video on Jennifer McGuire's Blog and decided to try out some of her tips on my cards.

***THIS POST INCLUDES AFFILIATE LINKS***

A rainbow blend of Oxide Inks were applied to a mixed media panel.  The flowers from the Happy Day stamp set were clear embossed randomly over the panel.  A Versafine Onyx Black stamp pad was swiped over the entire card.  A paper towel was used to wipe off the black ink from the embossing and heat applied to bring back the shine on the embossing.  The Surrounded in Prayer image was colored with Copic Markers and the extra flower and butterfly were watercolored using the same Oxide Ink colors.

The background for this card was made exactly the same way except instead of applying black ink over the embossing, white ink was used.  The sentiment from the Happy Day stamp set was black embossed on vellum and extra flowers added to finish the card.

The stamp sets used for this card are available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.  Happy Day is the Stamp of the Month and will automatically be added to your $75 order before tax and shipping.

If you haven't had a chance to check out the April Release Blog Hop, there's still time to enter your comments to be eligible for the PRIZE.  Just click on the link for more details!

I hope you will be inspired to give this fun technique a try!
Happy stamping!

Hugs,
Cathy

walk humbly

Good morning! Today I am sharing two cards using some new Sweet ‘n Sassy stamps from this month’s release. Here I used Cheerful Hexies and Walk Humbly.

I've been using purple a little more lately. It can be hard to find nice patterned papers with purple in them but these hexagons make it fun and easy to create your own background! The dress on the girl was paper pieced with a scrap I found in my stash. I paired the purple with some turquoise on my first card... love that combo.

My next card is monochromatic and I used the same scrap of paper to make the banner. Then I punched a hexagon window for the girl to peek through.

Here's the inside...

Have a great day!
Diane

April Release Blog Hop

Welcome to our April Release Hop! We're so excited about the new stamps available in the shop this month and can't wait to share the projects we've been working on with you! Read on for a few samples and a little walk through of our new release, then hop along to the blogs linked below for all sorts of papercrafting inspiration! Leave a little comment love on each stop along the way for a chance to win a $10 gift voucher to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps shop. Winner will be announced here on the SNSS blog, Tuesday, April 23.

Here's the official hop list. If something goes wrong along the way,
hop on back here to pick  up where you left off.

The links to the Sweet 'n Sassy shop in this post are compensated affiliate links. At no cost to you, I'll  receive a small commision on orders placed through these links. Affiliates do not see who ordered or what was ordered, but we do get to see that an order was placed through our link.  It's such a blessing as designers to know that our creative efforts are helping this company we so dearly love!

The card I'm sharing uses the new Delightful Daisies set, and just like the name implies, this set is DELIGHTFUL! Here I did a little two step stamping with the solid and outline images of the daisies. The outline images are stamped in black, then I filled in with aquas and purples in two colors of ink for the solid images to give a bit of depth. I loved the sentiment on this patterned paper, so decided to add the flowers in a pretty arrangement to show it off. To tie in with the shabbiness of the paper, I added a bit of lace, then cut some leaf shapes from book paper and lightly added some gesso and inks to "age" them a bit.

Next up is this beautiful card from our fearless leader, Korin, pairing Delightful Daisies with the Marquee Caps Alpha set. Don't you love those two toned rainbow letters? Squee! What a fabulous way to use this fun alpha. And her watercolored daisies make me do just what the sentiment suggests... SMILE! Those splatters finish things off with pizazz, don't ya think?

The next stop on the hop is my blog, Poetic Artistry, where I'm sharing a couple more cards with the new release. Before you go, here's a little look-see at the sets included in the APRIL release...

First up... the March stamp of the month, Doodle Florals, is now available to purchase! This is a beautiful collection of flowers and leaves perfect for all your spring projects.

Next up is the APRIL stamp of the month, Happy Day. Whimsical and cheerful, this set is so versatile. It includes lots of builder sentiments, lovely little posies, a few little accents and a darling butterfly. This must-have set is only available during the month of April as a FREE gift with a $75 or more purchase.

We also have a very special Stamp for a Cause set releasing this month. Surrounded in Prayer  is a heartfelt stamp set created in honor of our Creative Team member Jane Bosi and her recent battle with breast cancer for the purpose of raising funds for a cause that is dear to her heart. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Aspirus to raise funds for their Family House project which will support families while their loved ones undergo treatment. $10 from each Surrounded in Prayer stamp sold will be donated to the Aspirus Family House project. To find out more about this project visit their website: https://www.aspirus.org/family-house-at-aspirus

Delightful Daisies is the next set in our April lineup, and as I said before, this set is completely DELIGHTFUL. Whether you love to color or you prefer to let your stamps do the coloring, this set has it all. These beautiful daisy images illustrated by Nina Brackett make the perfect focal point for any card.

If you loved the patterns in the previously released Forever & Always set, you're going to flip for these darling hexies! With the Cheerful Hexies set you can mix, match, layer, and stamp to your heart's content with these trendy, modern shapes and patterns. Then add a little flair with some cheerful builder sentiments to send a little handmade kindness someone's way.

The next set in the spotlight is Walk Humbly. This is the first stamp set illustrated by Creative Team Member Colleen Gaddie. Themed around the Micah 6:8 scripture passage, this set includes two lovely women images, words from the scripture and some darling accents. This set lends itself beautifully to both cardmaking and bible journaling.

Last, but certainly not least, is the fabulous Marquee Caps Alpha Korin showed so beautifully in her card above. This set of bold alpha marquee letters is just superb. Such a bright way to spruce up a card or journal page. Each letter is approximately 7/8" tall, so perfect for focal points and titles.

Alrighty, that's the release in a nutshell! Thanks so much for hanging out with me as I reviewed this fantastic release. Now I'm wondering, what kind of colorer are you? Do you find sitting and coloring outline images relaxing, or would you rather have coordinating solid images for easy 2-step stamping techniques? Let me know in the comments!
