Never Lose Hope

Hi friends! It's Julee popping in with a couple cards using one of today's Friday Features sets, Choose Faith. This set is just $13.50 today only, after combining the Friday Features and Black Friday discounts!

I started with the background, smooshing broken china and shaded lilac onto some packaging and then spritzing with water and pouncing onto watercolor cardstock. Next I embossed the hope and the never lose stamps with chipped sapphire ink and clear embossing powder.  I then masked off the never lose portion with a post it note and then stamped the flowers from Nature Silhouettes in a combination of shaded lilac and chipped sapphire inks, then embossed in clear. A super quick, fun card.

Next I did a watercolor wash on watercolor cardstock with broken china and cracked pistachio distress oxides. Then I splattered on some of the same colored inks.  When this was dry, I embossed the JOY stamp from Choose Faith in white, then added the trees and snowflakes from the Thrill of Hope set to complete a winter scene. I cut this with a die and matted with navy cardstock.  The back panel is embossed with a snowflake embossing folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you've enjoyed these quick cards.  Be sure to check out all the Friday Features today!

And while you're there, don't forget that everything in the shop is 25% off during our Black Friday/Small Business Saturday sale!

Poinsettia Greetings

Hello Sweet 'N Sassy Friends!  Sheri here today with a couple cards featuring this months Stamp of the Month, Poinsettia Greetings.  This is such a beautiful set and is FREE with any $75 order this month!

I created two CAS (Clean & Simple) cards featuring the beautiful poinsettia in the set.  The first card is colored with copic markers.

Instructions:
  • A2 Top Fold Whisper Card Base (4 1/4" x 5 1/2")
  • Black Card Layer (4" x 5 1/4")
  • White Card Stock (3 7/8" x 5 1/8") - stamp poinsettia and color with your favorite coloring medium.
  • Stamp sentiment in black ink.

Here's another look at my card from this month blog hop.  It features embossing and some ink blending.  This is a super easy technique!

Instructions:
  • A2 Top Fold Card Base (4 1/4" x 5 1/2")
  • Teal Card Layer (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"), attach directly to card base.
  • Gold Card Layer (3 7/8" x 5 1/8") - to create a perfectly matched layer I ran my embossing stamp pad around the edges of a piece of white card stock and used the same gold embossing powder I used on the poinsettia.
  • Teal Layer 3 3/4" x 5", stamp poinsettia with embossing ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder.  Make sure to use an embossing buddy to help prevent embossing powder from sticking to areas that you don't want it.  I also use a small dry paint brush to help brush of any extra powder.
  • I then took a life changing ink blending brush and matching teal ink and ink blended around the edges of the poinsettia to add some texture.
  • Emboss sentiment on a piece of black and cut down to a small strip.
  • the gold layer and black sentiment strip are popped up with foam squares for added dimension. (Optional)

Fur-Ever Friends

Today I am playing with the Fur-Ever Friends Set. I have a clean and simple card and I finally got the opportunity to try my hand at a faith-dex card. It was really fun and I will definitely be making more of them!

The card is a one layer card.

I doodled a border and popped the squirrel in the middle as well as the sentiment from the set. I used some warn gray Copics and used a dot technique for the body.

Here is the faith-dex card:

This one uses Neenah Dessert Storm (kraft). I used a direct to paper technique with my Distress Ink Pads (I explain it in THIS POST). Then I used the entire sheet of Faith Wordfetti Sentiment stamps like a background/texture stamp using the darker ink color. While it was drying, I colored the deer and one of the mushrooms with Copics, fussy cut them and glued them on. I added two of the sentiments and to the back I added the verse from l Peter 4:11:
  • Whoever serves, [let him do it] as one who serves by the strength which God supplies – in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
When I looked this verse up I found the following note and it really made me think about how I used my gifts… Therefore, I decided it needed to be my first faith-dex card.
  • This passage is part of Peter’s teaching on how Christians should love each other “strenuously” (1 Peter 4:8). He has urged us to offer hospitality without grumbling. Believers are to see all that we have as gifts from God, available to be used for serving each other.
These were fun! I hope you are inspired to try out these faith-dex cards or just try a new technique!.

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone! I love making Christmas cards so I'm really excited it's that time of the year again 😀. My favorite colors for Christmas are still the traditional red, green and gold so I decided to use a lot of red and gold for this card.

I created a red background with crayons on watercolor paper and stamped the poinsettia with embossing ink. I embossed the image with gold embossing powder. It still needed a little bit more gold so I decided to color the edges of the panel with a gold watercolor.
I stamped the message on black cardstock and used the gold embossing powder on the words too. Of course I had to add a couple of golden sequins to finish the card.

I used the stamp set Poinsettia Greetings for this card.

snow much fun

Good morning! Today I have two cards with some more cute snowmen stamps from this month's release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps! This set is called Snow Much Fun.  And if you haven't checked out SNSS’s birthday sale yet, it's not too late! This sale runs all month long. No code needed!

I die cut an oval shape from plain copy paper for my first card and used it as a stencil to sponge on a bit of blue. The I stamped the flakes and sentiment and popped the snowman up. There's a little Stickles that doesn't show in the photo.

I also popped up the second snowman...this time in front of a die cut window with patterned paper behind it. If you look closely, there's some subtle red snowflakes stamped on the red cardstock base.

Have a great day!
Diane

Poinsettia x3

Hello Everyone!

Lee Ann here, with more Christmas cards using the gorgeous Poinsettia Greetings Stamp Set.

First up is a pink Poinsettia, colored with Copics.  I CASed this design from an amazing talent in blogland, Yana Smakula.  The poinsettia was initially stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink using my MISTI, then colored with Copics. Once I was done coloring, I put the panel back in my MISTI, stamped the image with Versamark ink and heat embossed it in gold.  I then fussy cut the flower out.
I did some tone on tone stamping with the flower in the lower right hand corner of the card.  To allow the large, Copic colored flower to blend into the card front better, I colored the outer edges of the fussy cut flower with a pink Copic that matched the pink cardstock.
I selected several sentiments from the Christmas Wordfetti Stamp set and heat embossed them in white across a black sentiment strip.

Next up, I decided I needed a softer poinsettia, as everything that I had done so far was very bold in color.

I used a bunch of Shimmerz Paints products on the card and love how different it turned out from all of my other poinsettia cards.  Details for this are on my blog.
For the third poinsettia card using the Poinsettia Greetings Stamp Set, I CASed myself, making a green poinsettia similiar to the blue one I shared earlier this month.

You can probably guess that I love this stamp!  It is a real beauty.  I got out my trusty Ken Oliver Color Bursts for this card and stamped the image in Versafine Black ink on watercolor paper.  I used mostly green Color Bursts (Pthalo Green, Lime Green), but I did add in a bit of Turquoise to the flower and a lot of it to the background.  I spattered the card front with black watercolor splatters and watered down white acrylic paint.
The image panel is matted on shiny gold paper and mounted on the white card base.  Sequins finish it off.
Thats it for me!
I hope I have inspired you to try different methods of coloring with this stamp!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Lee Ann

Snow Much Fun!

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy Stampers!
It's Ceal, here to share a couple cards with you today featuring one of our super cute November release sets.  We released several snowmen/snow sets this month and they are all fabulous!
I hope you enjoyed our release hop and got lots of inspiration from the team. If not you can go HERE and hop through all the participating blogs.

For my cards I used the Snow Much Fun set. The first card I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel. I paired it up with the Thrill of Hope set by using the trees.
The second card I started with a top folding card base and a white panel as well and then used the LCBB to create the hills and a stencil to create the snow. The greeting is from the Deck The Halls set.

All is Bright

Hi friends! It's Julee Tilman popping in today to share a bright and fun poinsettia card. I really can't get enough of this big flower from Poinsettia Greetings! For my card today, I'm using alcohol inks and the emboss resist technique.

I haven't really played much with alcohol inks, but I always love the results. To start the card, I grabbed some Spectrum Noir alcohol reinkers and yupo paper and just started to play.  I embossed the Poinsettia Greetings image in white, then started adding the alcohol inks.  When this was dry I added some drops of metallic ink for a bit of interest. The metallic inks are water reactive, so don't try to do this when the alcohol inks are still wet, or you'll get a muddy mess! Ask me how I know! 😉 Once I had the flower how I wanted it, I fussy cut it and then added some pearl clusters from my stash for the flower center.

I was quite messy with my alcohol inks, so the background is a panel made by smooshing into the leftover inks on my glass mat. I added a bit of blending solution and puffed on it with a straw for some fun effects.

I finished with the All is Calm and All is bright sentiments from the Christmas Wordfetti set. I just love all the sentiments in this set! I then added a few snowflake sequins (from Target a few years back) and embellished with a teeny pearl in the center of each one.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you haven't shopped yet, be sure to take advantage of the Sweet 'n Sassy Birthday Sale! Everything in the shop is 12% off this month! And remember that Poinsettia Greetings is the November stamp of the month, so you can receive it for FREE with a $75 order (before tax and after discounts and shipping)

Warm Wishes

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!  Have you taken time to enjoy our November Release Hop yet!  If not there's still time to see the awesome card projects made with new products available at the SNSS Store and to qualify for the prize drawing.  You can see the hop details HERE.

I have two cards to share with you today.  It's starting to feel a little more like winter so my first card was made to send warm wishes and features the new  Folk Art Snowflakes stamp set.

A Tim Holtz embossing folder was used to add snowy texture to a stitched panel and a sentiment from the Christmas Pine set was embossed at the bottom of the panel.  One of the snowflakes was white embossed on a smaller panel and then sponged with Oxide Inks.  White gems were added to the centers of the snowflakes to finish the card.

My second card was made with the Succulents stamp set.

Nuvo Shimmer Powder was sprinkled through a stencil and spritzed with water.  The stencil was dabbed with a paper towel and lifted off the panel to reveal a pretty muted background.  Two woven die cuts were cut with a die by Paper Roses and layered onto the card.  The largest succulent from the Succulents stamp set was colored with Copic Marker, cut out and added to the card.  The sentiment was silver embossed and dew drops added to finish the card.

These stamp sets from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store were used to create the cards above:

We are also offering a special deal as part of our ongoing 12th Birthday Celebration!

So glad you stopped by today...have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Cathy
