Our Captain

Happy Wednesday to all and thanks for taking the time to visit the Sweet 'n Sassy blog.

Mary Marsh here posting for the first time as a design diva for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I am so excited to be a part of this talented team.

The card I want to share with you today uses a sentiment from the new clear stamp set "Let Go, Let God. The set contains 5 sentiments. The one I chose made me think of a ship or boat.  So I went with a nautical theme.

Since I didn't have a boat image I decided to make one with various punches. I used a 1 3/4" round punch for the boat body.  For the sails I used a  1 1/4" square punch and then cut the square in half. I made a similar boat on this card

For my waves I used a slit punch and then I sponged the tops with white ink to make it look like white caps. I used foam squares to give the waves some dimension and allow my  boat to sail in between the waves. The wave idea came from this card.

I found this rainbow patterned paper in my stash and I thought it was perfect for my little scene. God's promise is in the rainbow. He will guide us through any storm.

On that note I will close this post. I hope you like my card. Stop by for a visit tomorrow to see another creation from the SNSS design divas.

Enjoy the Life God has Waiting for Us.

Today is my first posting as part of the Sweet N Sassy Design Team!

I created my card using the twisted easel design I learned over on the Split Coast Try a New Technique challenge last week.  Isn't it a wonderful way to present this lovely sentiment?  This would look great sitting on your desk or on a shelf in your home.

The card is 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" -  you fold the top piece over from corner to corner and add the rectangle panel - easy peasy!  This is how it looks when it's closed flat.  It will fit in a regular A2 envelope for mailing.

The sentiments are from the May Release set called Let Go and Let God.   A wonderful set for creating Faith cards such as this.
