Made New and Girl Power2

Hello! It's Monika here today with some miscellaneous craft projects using the February Stamp of the Month: Made New and Power Girls 2.

I've been having a blast in my craft room creating this and that... it's so nice to widen your horizon and use your craft supplies for something other than cards...

First up is a journaling display card:

The display holder was made out of card box (recycling is fun and very helpful!) then covered with fabric paper and designer paper (video tutorial). It's cool looking and pretty easy to make... it's perfect for displaying bible verses (photos or calendar pages).
The foam heart is a pocket that holds the bible verse from Made New clear stamp set.

Next up is a cute foam bracelet (I was trying to come up with an after school project):

The kids will be using stickers, but on my bracelet, the heat embossed vellum butterfly and vellum flower were the perfect embellishments. I used Velcro as the closer.

My last project is a book mark... I love making them and while this one is bulkier than what's common, I love how it turned out! I used some printable images from the Creative Worship: Words of Wisdom packet along with another sweet Power Girl and pretty Made New vellum butterfly.

I hope I have inspired you to craft today!

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

Scripture Cards

{jane bosi} I'm always looking for new projects and ways to art and tie together the other pieces of my life that I love.  Scripture is, of course, a favorite interest.  I've been collecting my favorite verses in a note book or three for some time.  I decided to get a little more artsy using a file folder die I found while cleaning recently--somewhat like the notion of an artists trading card, but a little bit larger surface to work on.

A while ago, I made several colorful sheets using my Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate.  I knew I had saved them for a reason--this project became the perfect one!

I printed each scripture on card stock and then used Sweet N Sassy stamps, sewing, modge podge and bible pages to create these fun file folder pages.  Excitedly, I share them with my husband whose response was...."Cool!.....what do you do with them?"  Silly man.

I'm going to keep going.  I don't know what I will "do with them" just yet.  It's a wonderful work of worship and a great way to memorize the Word.  I'm sure I'll figure out some kind of box or binding eventually.  For right now, in this season of my life, the more Word the better and arting the Word is just a little slice of heaven for me.

Be blessed--Jane

Women of Praise

Y'all I just returned from the most amazing weekend. I attended the Women of Paris retreat in Savannah with many of the Sweet 'n Sassy design team and finally after 11 years got to met Korin in real life. She is a super sweet woman of god. We did Bible journaling, fellowshipped and worshipped the Lord the entire weekend it was so amazing!
The set I used on my card, Women of Praise is a set that we received at the retreat but is also available in the store.
To make my card I started with a white top folding card base and a panel cut down a quarter of an inch smaller. I used distress oxide inks to create my background and the stamped the images on top using the Misti of course.
This stamp can be used so many ways and it a must have in your stamp room.

Majestic Monarchs

Hello! It's Monika here today with a scrappy card. I love designer papers... I don't use them, but I sure do love collecting them! In the quest of using up some designer paper, I made a small project that needed a card... here is what I came up with:

It was very simple... the designer paper panel was die-cut with a border die, the butterfly (Majestic Monarchs clear stamp set) was stamped on a coordinating piece of designer paper then it was fussy cut. I stamped out extra butterflies, one of each, so I can use those as decoration on my project...

The greeting is from Be Encouraged clear stamp set.
Here is the full project... a Midori style notebook with inserts I made out of copy paper and writing paper:

Do you remember when we had to hand write letters? LOL! Back in the old days, I collected writing pads and the other day I happened to dig them out... and since I was looking for thin paper sheets, I decided to use some of that. I used Creative Worship: Name Above All clear stamps set to decorate the cover of each of the signatures that made up the journal. I also made a bookmark using Faith Quote Blocks clear stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Fill Me Up

Hello SWEET Friends! It's Monika here today with a fun card.
Will you join me for a cup of coffee?
I love coffee, but right now I am taking a break... trying to cut back on caffeine and sugar. So this is how I am enjoying a cup of coffee today!
I used Creative Worship: Fill Me Up and Floral Greetings clear stamp sets on my card.

The background (water color cardstock) was sponged with green ink, splashed with water, dried, then stamped with the floral image repeatedly.
As I was looking through my scrap pile, I found a piece of a2 card already stamped with the circle borders. The lines were crooked, so I set it aside ages ago... stamping the coffee cozy on it worked just fine and it added a nice pattern to my coffee cup.

The heart was stamped on a scrap piece of water color paper, cut out, and colored with ZIG water color marker. I used the same color marker to ink up the check mark.

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Paid In Full

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a quick Clean and Simple Mixed Media card that I created with the Creative Worship Clear Stamp Set, The Good News designed by Korin Sutherland.

The Good News stamp set is perfect for Bible Art Journaling as well as card making.  I love all of fonts in the sentiments as well as the cross images and the focus on what Christ has done for us.

To create the side panel for this card, I used the acetate smooshing technique on white paper with yellow and orange distress inks and followed with a stencil brush using persimmon distress ink to soften the white paper.

The word images from The Good News were randomly stamped with the same shade of orange distress ink and a bit of shimmer was added with a clear glitter pen.

I stamped the cross image, crown of thorns and “Paid in Full” sentiment from The Good News with archival black ink onto white cardstock,  fussy-cut the cross and crown images and mounted all onto dark brown cardstock.

I finished off the card with a few sequins.

I hope I have inspired you today – hugs and have a blessed week, sweet friends!

The Good News

Hello SWEET Friends! It's Monika here today with an Easter card. What a wonderful time of the year it is as we are getting ready to celebrate our Lord's resurrection. He is alive!

For my card, I used three different clear stamp sets: Creative Worship: The Good News, Floral Greetings and He Lives.
I used a piece of acetate for the partial window. It adds a wonderful dimensional look when the card is open. It feels like you are looking up onto the hill and seeing the crosses in the great distance.
The floral image was heat embossed with gold embossing powder and colored with water colors.

The hill was sponged using a torn piece of paper as the stencil.
I stamped the big cross first, then inked up the image with the 3 small crosses and masked off the middle cross with washi tape before stamping it.

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

A flower for you

Hi all!  Angel here today with a card that could be used for almost any occasion.  I absolutely adore the newly released Pretty Potted Florals stamp set.  I colored one with Copics then cut it out.  I then layered it with foam adhesive over a card stock layer that I had stamped 4 of the words from the Creative Worship: Words of Life - Actions stamp set.  I plan to make a set of these cards using all of the images from the Pretty Potted Florals set and then changing up the words on the background layer.  So simple and perfect for many occasions like I mentioned before :)   This is a square card, by the way.

Thank you for stopping by!

Hugs,
Angel

My Comforter wall hanging

Hello Sweet Friends! It's Monika here today, bringing you a mixed media project. It is a small wall hanging, that can be also showcased in a shadow box or picture frame.

So the base is a recycled card board piece, torn and distressed, then stamped and heat embossed with the music sheet image (Music to My Ears clear stamp set):

Then covered with rocks, flowers, star sequins, a button, dew drops... and primed with white gesso:

Then spayed it with red (which had an orange hue and looks totally like orange on the picture) and black ink:

The main image (Creative Worship: My Comforter clear stamp set) was stamped on water color paper with Jet Black Archival ink and water colored with distress inks... to add some more texture, I added cheese cloth, twine, micro beads, sequin strips and a wood veneer dove. The greeting (Be Encouraged clear stamp set) was stamped with Jet black Archival ink.

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

Come and Adore Him

Hello friends and welcome to today's card! Today I'm sharing a quick and easy card featuring a wonderful Bible journaling set, called All Your Heart. And, yes, you can use Bible journaling stamp sets to create cards too!

I started my card by creating a background using Strathmore water color paper. The water coloring was done with Distress Inks. To use Distress Inks, simply smoosh some ink onto a non-stick craft sheet and then pick up the ink with a water color brush. If you lay down a layer of water on to the paper before adding the ink, you'll get lots of great blending of the colors.

Once my water coloring paper was completely dry, I used white embossing power to add the sentiment. To make the letters stand out a bit more, I used more ink to color in each word. Next, I added a sweet Glossy Accents covered heart along with some small paint splatters in black. I mounted the water color piece on a piece of black cardstock and attached to a white card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card! You can use this easy technique to create any card...give it a try!

Happy Crafting!

Celebrate the Savior

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a card designed with the brand new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Creative Worship stamp set, Celebrate the Savior designed by Krista Hamrick.

This card was fairly quick and easy to create- I added the background paper to a piece of gray cardstock using my sewing machine with a zigzag stitch (hard to see in the photo), distressed the edges of both a bit, then mounted the layer onto a piece of vanilla cardstock and added the crochet lace along with the gray ribbon before adhering the entire panel onto the gray card base.

I stamped the sentiment along with the angel using embossing ink onto a piece of vanilla cardstock, heat embossed with gold embossing powder and die cut with a large circle die.

I mounted the die cut onto another circle cut from gray cardstock, distressed the edges a bit and used dimensional foam to add the layered focal image to the card front.

I finished off the card with a triple satin ribbon bow along with pearls.

I had fun playing with this new Celebrate the Savior stamp set- it is perfect for Christmas cards as well as Bible Art Journaling!  Krista did a great job illustrating this set, I can almost "hear" the angels declaring the good news of our Savior’s birth!

Thanks again for stopping by- hugs and have a fabulous week, sweet friends!
