Shabby Mixed Media Coffee

Esther here today with this mixed media coffee card. The Spring Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop is in full swing. It's a traditional hop this time with prizes and giveaways at each stop. Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is proud to be one of the sponsors for this hop and is giving away a $25 gift code to one lucky commenter. Click here to go to the original post.

To create my card today I started with a piece of kraft card stock and swiped some white pigment ink across it. Next I stamped the coffee words from texture tiles 9 across the top and bottom and layered up my lace, dictionary page pieces, and burlap ribbon. Using distress inks I did some ink smooshing on watercolor paper, die cut it with a circle die, and stamped a bit of text from texture tiles 1 over top. After fussy cutting one of the coffee cups from I Like Big Cups I added a bit of lace to the front. A sentiment and two little hearts complete this shabby mixed media card.

Endless Love

Happy Monday! Esther here today sharing two cards using the BRAND NEW Endless Love stamp set designed by Julee Tilman! For my first card I created a fun Christmas shaker in bright and cheery colors.

I used watercolors to paint the striped background before adding some text and splatters. To create the mottled effect on the hearts, I laid them on my distress oxide pads and lightly pressed in places.

My  second card uses the same stamp set for a fresh and clean encouragement card. I colored my images with Arteza real brush pens and fussy cut them before adding them to my white on white background. I love how the polka dots on the sentiment add a little extra "pop of interest" to the card.

Borders & Backgrounds...

Hello Sweet Friends!

It's been a fun month here at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps as we celebrate our 8th birthday! The DT Divas are sharing Daily Throwbacks with you all month long here on the blog, and over on our Facebook page, to help celebrate!

Today I am re-visiting Borders & Backgrounds clear stamp set (among some other fantastic sets):

I love making shaped cards, so I decided to make a birdhouse card. The scallop border was perfect for the roof of my birdhouse. I used the coordinating die to cut the strips out (which is no longer available). I stamped the scallop image with VersaMark and heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder.

The holly came from Christmas Silhouettes clear stamp set and was die-cut with the coordinating Christmas Silhouettes die set.

The darling birds are from Season's Greetings clear stamp set. I also used the Fence & Grass and Heart die sets.

Monika A. Davis

Hello! I was born and raised in Hungary. I've been in the States for 19 years now, living in beautiful New Hampshire. I live with my sweet husband and our 2 boys. I work part time at my sons' school, in the after school program.
I was introduced to rubber stamping 17 years ago and I've been making cards on and off ever since. It's been a great passion of mine. I love making cards and giving them away for birthdays, Christmas, teacher's appreciation day etc. I've been on a number of design teams and have been published a number of times. I taught card making classes in local stamp stores and now I offer classes at my house. These days I am crafting on a smaller scale and concentrating more on my family and on my spiritual journey.
I love reading, traveling, playing board games... and this summer I took up gardening and canning (which I never thought I'd do).
If you are a new stamper, I'd recommend getting a nice set of ink pads with coordinating card stocks. I made a mistake of buying miss matched items when I started out as a crafter and I never liked the end result. These days, there are many companies offering matching ink pads, papers, even embellishments.
There are so many fantastic designers who inspire me... I don't think I could name them all here. I visit Pinterest daily for ideas and get inspirations from challenges.
I was introduced to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps in 2010 (I think) by the talented Kim Schofield. I started out as a Guest Designer, then first joined The Sweet Stop sketch challenge, then the Sweet 'n Sassy Design Divas. It's been such a blessed journey with the other design team members and Korin. I love the different image designs, the Christian sets with beautiful verses and spiritual greetings.
While I have a number of favorite stamp sets, especially the ones with butterflies, I especially love:
Be Encouraged clear stamp set with it's powerful words:

These are just the perfect additions to any cards, no matter what the occasion is... and here are some of the cards I've created with this stamp set:

Somebuggy to Love

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy Friends,

Jenny here with a fun Spring like card with
the cutest little bug.  The temp has been in the 40's which
feels like a heat wave around here!  My puppies
were so excited to get out for a long walk in the sunshine.
I was excited to break out some warm weather designer paper
to go with this darling stamp set called Somebuggy Loves You.

I inked this little guy up and colored him with my Copics,
before cutting him out and adhering him to some DP.
Next, I stamped on my sentiment.
Using several Sweet 'n Sassy dies I created
some scalloped borders adding some red card stock
for pops of color.  For some extra love I tied
some cord around his antenna to a  heart balloon.
Lastly, I added a bright sequin and adhered a couple
of hearts from the scalloped hearts border negative.

You can find all the Sweet 'n Sassy products
I used below.  For a more detailed list,
hop on over to my blog.

I'm off to drag the grill out to cook dinner
tonight now that the days are longer.
Do you think it's too early?  (lol!)

Hugs,

Jenny

Good Luck...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a card for St. Patrick's Day.
I am not Irish, nor do I celebrate that day, but I wanted to make something GREEN.

It was very simple to make. First I rubbed green and yellow distress ink on my craft mat, spritzed it with water, then I placed my water color card stock over it. It is my favorite 'technique' right now. You get a beautiful water color background without using a brush.

Now, I don't have any shamrock images or dies... so I had to make my own. I die-cut some tiny hearts using the smallest die from Heart Die set... and stamped it with an image that had small patterns on it. Next I adhered the hearts onto a sticky dot, added a candy dot in the middle, cut a thin strip for the stem and voila... I had a sweet little shamrock.

The greeting is from Keep in Touch, Too clear stamp set

The inspiration came from Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. That simple picture with the shamrock is just so pretty.

I hope I inspired you to make something crafty today.

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

You warm my heart....

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a card using one of the brand new stamp sets from the February release,  Winnie's Warm Wishes.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers, then cut it out and placed it withing the frame... the greeting is stamped using 4 of the words from the set.

To highlight the last word, I die-cut a small heart from the Heart Die set.

If you haven't already, check out our February Release Hop and see all the wonderful projects using the new products. We also have a new challenge!

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

I have been getting more into creating my own backgrounds
lately and the discontinued Grundgy Border stamp set
totally fits the bill for this.  Notice the polka dots,
diamonds and wood designs... all part of this fun set.
The sentiment and the polka dot heart are included
in the beautiful Bottom of my Heart Set.
Did I mention both stamp sets are now on sale :)

I added other sweet elements to my card including
the butterfly and postage paid symbols.
These are from one of our newest sets, Parisian Postcard.

I love how bright and cheerful this card turned out.
Perfect for valentine giving.

A Very Veggie Valentine

Hello Friends!

New DT member Jenny here with my first post.
I am so honored to be a part of this talented
team of ladies and to share with you my love
for paper crafting!  I've been on a CAS style kick
lately, but I do love to dabble in all the different styles.

Can you believe the holidays are over and it's
already time  to start thinking about
creating  for Valentines Day?  I went with a playful
CAS Valentine card today.  The colors I choose
make it totally suitable for a masculine card.

To create my card I used the stamp set You and Me
which has just a delightful array of sentiment and
image options.  Really, just stinkin' cute!
For the banner I had in mind,
I reached for the Mini Tags die
set and Hearts die set.

I stamped the peas and carrot several times
on a variety of DP and card stock and then cut them out.
If you noticed, I fussy cut very close to the edge
of my images.  That's sometimes hard to do
depending on how intricate the stamped image is.
What I do if I have any bits of white
showing is carefully go over the edges of my image
with a black Copic Multi Liner.
 Works beautifully!

Speaking of fussy cutting...I have some great news!
Right now, through January 8th, the
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Perks Club
is offering up a few bundles of
stamps and matching dies at a discount.
And guess what? One of the options is
the You and Me stamp set WITH matching dies!
  No more fussy cutting!
Woot!  Woot!
You can find all the details here.

Thanks for stopping by today...
I look forward to sharing my paper crafting
journey with all of you!

Blessings,

Jenny
