Fishing You Well

PRODUCT LINKS BELOW CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU

Hello Sweet Friends! Sheri here today with a FUN Fishing You Well card featuring the adorable Fin-Tastic Friends and Mer-Mazing stamp sets but before we get to today's card...

I wanted to share a birthday card I created for last months Instagram Hop featuring the Mer-Mazing stamp set. Isn't she adorable?!

Well I thought that it would be fun to create a landscape version with both the Fin-Tastic Friends and Mer-Mazing stamp sets. Here's what I came up with.

I first stamped out a bunch of images from the two sets with alcohol friendly ink and colored with my copics before cutting them out with their coordinating die sets. I then grabbed a couple dies from my stash and created a frame to build my little aquatic scene. For a final touch I stamped a sentiment and added a few dew drop embellishments. What do you think?

Card Measurements:
Blue A2 Card Base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Light Blue Frame: 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Light Blue Embossed Panel: 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
Blue Sentiment Strip: 1 7/8" x 1/2"

Stamp sets are available individually

you're awesome

Hello! Today I am sharing a card using one of my favorite sets from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. This one is always fun to pull out and create with! I also used the July Product of the Month... a set of dies which are free with your $65 order!

Product links: Fin-Tastic Friends Stamp & Die Bundle, Hearts & Stars Scallop Border Dies

I used the cute little puffer fish and seahorse images, along with one of the sentiments on my card. For the left side, I used 1/2" x 1" strips of cardstock and my die cut border. I added an embossed panel to the right and popped the sea creatures up with foam tape. The hearts that were cut from the border didn't all go to waste...I used a few as embellishments! They would also be fun in a shaker card. :)

Have a great day!

Keep Swimming

Hi friends! It's Julee popping in today with a colorful little encouragement card.

As soon as I saw the Paint Splatters Stencil I knew I wanted to do a rainbow background with it.  So I pulled out a rainbow of ink pads and got to work.  The background seemed like it would go with the fun critters from Fin-tastic Friends, and Mer-mazing, so I stamped them out, colored with Copics, then cut them out.

The keep swimming sentiment is from Mer-mazing and I embossed it in white on black cardstock and doodled a frame around it,  I thought it would be fun if the lobster was holding the sign.  The friend is cut with the new Friend Word Die, and I added it behind the lobster, so the two sentiments are connected.  A little glossy glaze on the eyes, and this fun card was done.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day.

From Fish to Flowers

 Hello Friends!

We are having some fun this month celebrating the artists here at Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  This week our focus is on Jenn Nilsson fabulous stamp collection!  Jenn's sweet, whimsical style are right up my alley.  Her set, Country Garden, is one of my favorites.

This gorgeous image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.  I then fussy cut the image out.  I got some new embossing folders- they seem to be making a comeback and I was in need of new!  I watercolored a piece of cs and let it dry.  Next, I spritzed the inside of my embossing folder with water and then ran the watercolored paper throught the Big Shot.  What a lovely surprise I got with the fun texture and color variation on the panel.  I die cut a circle from the purple paper and used it to back the image.

The sentiment, from the Precious Poppies Stamp set -was stamped in the corner of the card front.  A white scalloped frame was added to the card front, then the purple circle and image were added, along with a bit of grass made with the Tall Grass Die were adhered to the card.

Next up, a super cas card in which the darling fish does just fine standing on its own!

Mr. Puffer is from the Fin-tastic Friends Stamp Set.  He was colored with Copics and fussy cut out.
The background was done with an embossing folder and distress ink.  I used several techniques to get the background the color I wanted.  I started with some base color by sponging on various blue shades of distress inks.  Next I inked up the inside of the embossing folder, spritzed the folder and then placed the sponged cs in and ran it through the Big Shot.  I got wonderful, wavy dimension, but I still wanted more color so I watercolored with distress inks, following the curvy, embossed lines.  I love how this turned out.  The sentiment worked out so well in how it followed the curves of the 'waves'.  A few sequins were added and done!
And because we are celebrating Jenn's art this week, all of Jenn's stamps are on special this week,

This is an awesome sale to take advantage of!

Hello

Hello friends, have you jumped on the mermaid bandwagon yet?  If not, this is the perfect set for you, so fun to play with!  Fin-tastic Friends by Jennifer Nilsson.  For my card I first made the sand with oxide ink and added a little texture with one of the stamps from Texture Tiles1. Next I masked off the sand and made the water again with oxide ink and spritz it with water to get the bubble look.  I colored all my characters with Copic Markers and fussy cut them to create my scene.
I decided to make a couple note cards using this month's STAMP OF THE MONTH, SENTIMENTAL WORDFETTI.  I love this set, you can use it alone or with other sentiment stamps for endless possibilities.  I paired it with Itty Bitty Blossoms, I colored with Copic markers and the design papers are both from The Paper Studios. SENTIMENTAL WORDFETTI IS FREE WITH YOUR $60 PURCHASE THIS MONTH!!!  As Always you get FREE SHIPPING WITH A $75 PURCHASE!
Happy Stamping,
~Stephanie

That's Just Fin-tastic!

Hello sweet friends!  I have a few cards to share with you today using the new Fin-tastic Friends stamp set released this month by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

My underwater scene was created with stamps from the Fin-tastic Friends stamp set along with some images from the Mer-mazing set which is a perfect complement.  The underwater background was sponged using a torn paper mask and Oxide inks.  The sandy bottom is torn Kraft card stock stamped with texture from Texture Tiles 1.  The adorable images were colored with Copic Markers, cut with a Scan 'n Cut and popped onto the background.  The sentiment was white embossed on teal card stock to finish the card.

On my second card Stitched Edges Dies were used to cut two panels from a piece of Yupo paper that was swiped with Alcohol Inks.  These were popped onto a white panel leaving without the center piece.  The Copic colored images from the Fin-tastic Friends set were cut and pieced onto the card.  The sentiment was pieced together using the Sentimental Wordfetti and Typewriter Blocks Alpha stamp sets.

The stamp sets used in the cards above are available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.

Fin-tastic Friends

Hello everyone and Happy Monday!
Whats so happy about this Monday? It is another Monday behind me before we leave for the outer banks beach trip.
Since I have the beach on my mind I decided to use the Fin-tastic Friends for my cards.

To create these cards I started with white top folding card bases and a panel of layering white card stock. To create both of the backgrounds I used stencils by Gina K Designs and the Life Changing Blending Brushes by Picket Fence Studios. I also used the Fin-tastic Friends set on both cards as well, and colored them using Copic markers. The greeting on the second card come from the Mer-mazing set.

I have used affiliate links in my post, what does this mean? If you follow the links or click on the description picture below and shop from them, I will receive a small commission from the sale which is no additional cost to you but compensates me for using the product and my time.
Thank you for your support!

Fintastic Friends

Hi Friends!
Today I have some fintastic projects to share using the new Fintastic Friends set. It is so adorable and such a perfect companion set for the Mer-mazing set.

My first project uses the some smooshed backgrounds combined to create a fairly clean and simple look - It was a Splitcoast Stampers Sketch a couple of weeks ago. I colored my little turtle up with Copics, cut him out and popped him up. I use the sentiment Smile because he makes me smile and he looks like he is smiling.

My Second project uses uses Distress Oxides for a smooshed background then I embossed it with a wave folder. I gently rubbed white ink over the waves so they would stand out. I colored several Fintastic Friends with Copics, cut them out and adhered them to the card. I finished it off with sequins and a cut out sentiment (from the set).

Recipe :
  • Paper –  Strathmore Bristol Smooth, Xpress It (For Copics)
  • Images and sentiments – Fintastic Friends set
  • Ink – Distress Inks, Distress Oxides, And Copics
  • Ink for Sentiment - Versafine Onyx Black
I hope you are inspired today!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sea to Shining Sea

Hi Sweet 'n Sassy friends! Have you seen the fantastic July release? I'm so in love with all the new stamps and cannot pick a favorite! Mermaids, beaches, astronauts, sheep, faith, doodles, oh my! There's definitely something for everyone in this month's release.

I'm an American girl through and through, so had a fun idea to take this darling mermaid from the new Fin-tastic Friends set on a red, white and blue adventure in honor of the approaching Independence Day holiday. Sometimes it's fun to think outside the box with stamps. The beautiful Fin-tastic Friends set has some fabulous sentiments, but it does NOT have a sea to shining sea sentiment. I saw all the pieces and parts I needed in the set.

I used a water based marker (don't try this with Copics 😄) to ink and stamp just the portions I wanted. First the sea from seas the day, and then the to from to say. Next I used the shin and then the ing from the fishing you well sentiment to make the word shining, and I finished with sea again. I often forget how easy it is to modify sentiments this way, but it's super fun and easy.

Next I stamped my little mermaid and colored her in with Copic markers, adding a little scale detailing on her tail portion.  I wanted her to shine, so added some streaks in her hair with a crystal clear lacquer pen and then dusted it with glitter.

The papers are from last year's Land that I Love collection by Pebbles Inc. I cut a few coordinating panels and arranged them to highlight the red white blue and America portions on the background panel.  A few die cut star accents with rhinestones and more lacquer and glitter add even more shine. I loved how it turned out so much, I decided to make it the Mojo Monday 519 Sketch Challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! With such a large release this month, we have TWO earlybird bundles for you! They're at a 10% discount through July 9th. Such a fabulous deal.

And don't forget the fabulous July Stamp of the Month, available exclusively as a FREE gift with a $60 order in the month of July.

Until next time... happy stamping!
