Jar of Blessings

Hi friends! It's Julee popping in today with a card made with a mash-up of old and new stamps and dies. As soon as I saw the Botanical Branches set, I knew I wanted to add these to a mason jar. Cue the mason jar from the Get Well Critters set.  I stamped the jar, then masked off the lid to stamp the branches. I then colored with Copics, accented with stickles and hand trimmed.

The background of the card is done with the June Stamp of the Month, Grunge Stripe Background. I really love this background! I stamped on kraft with brown ink, then sponged around the edges with brown ink for a glow in the center.

The horizontal strip is soft sky cardstock stamped with the swiss dot pattern from the Texture Tiles 8 set. I cut the Blessings Word Die several times from white and then kraft paper, then layered them together for depth and sponged just the bottom portion with black ink. The many is from the So Grateful set and I popped it up on dimensionals above the die cut sentiment to finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your day is filled with blessings.

Encouraging Peonies

 Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!

It's Ceal, here. The month of May we are not having a new release but we are releasing some gorgeous digital stamps all month so be sure to check them out.
Also every week of May we will feature sets from a different illustrator and there will be a sale.

This week is Jennifer Nilsson
sale below

For my cards I used one of my favorites of her sets, Encouraging Peonies
I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel. I stamped the peony image and colored it using Graph-it markers. I cut a quarter inch off of the side of the panel and then added some gold glitter washi tape to the base.
The sentiment is from the Everyday Sentiments- 2 set and I embossed it with gold powder.

My second card also uses the Encouraging Peonies set, I just stamped a different as it is a huge set.  I also used the Graph-it markers to color it and then added the Blessings Word Die

From now through May 6th we are featuring stamp sets by Jennifer Nilsson and if you purchase 2 of her sets you get a third free.

March 2021 Release Hop Winner + Inspiration

Hi Sweet 'n Sassy friends! It's Julee popping in with a little inky inspiration and some happy news for one of you blog hoppers!

As always, we had so much fun sharing the current release with you on our March Blog Hop. We so hope you enjoyed it, too, and gleaned a little inspiration for using this month's stamps! While we think you're ALL winners, we did randomly select ONE lucky reader from among all the comments on the hop to receive a $25 gift certificate to the Sweet 'n Sassy shop.

And the winner is...

Congratulations Laurie!
Please send an email to snssassistant@gmail.com to claim your prize.

Now onto a little inspiration from me using one of my favorite past releases... Birds & Blooms. I started out by stamping out the images in the set, then watercoloring with distress inks and fussy cutting.  My first card is a shaker, using the miss you sentiment and my horizontal panel was done with the Background Builders: Stripes set. The background is a blended and sprinkled with water distress ink background.

My next card used the branch image, and I added the Blessings Word Die, cut a few times and stacked, then ink blended for some color and dimension.  The background is done with the Delightfully Delicate Stencil.  I used up a frame left over from cutting the back of my shaker above, then layered everything together.

There's still a week to save during our Moving Sale!

Sale ends March 31, 2021.

Hopping by with Blessings

Esther here today sharing a fun little spring bunny card. To create my background I sprinkled some Merlot Color Burst powders on a piece of watercolor paper, spritzed with water, and heat set. Then I stamped one of the roses from HAPPY DAY in VERSAFINE CLAIR NOCTURNE INK all over the background.  I stamped one of the bunnies from HOPPY SPRINGand colored it with Arteza Real Brush Pens before fussy cutting. I die cut the BLESSINGS DIE from black card stock and added some white polka dots with a gel pen.  I glued the die cut sentiment to a white tag and added "hopping by with" in seedless preserves distress oxide.

Spring Has Sprung!

 Hello Friends!

I know the calendar says it is winter, but my mind tells me that it is spring, or at least heading towards spring!  Warmer temps, sunshine and longer days have me wanting to use spring images on cards in all the pretty pastel and bright colors.

The new Hoppy Spring is the perfect set for this.  Goodness, I love everything about this set, from the adorable bunnies, to the eggs and the adorable bitty chicks.

Doesn't this card just scream spring?!  I started with coloring the eggs- I had another idea, but it did not work out like it was in my head so on to plan B.  I colored the adorable bunny with Copics and fussy cut him out.  I used 3 of the pastel colored eggs around him.  For the background, I stamped the clover- like image from the Long Stem Silhouettes Stamp Set- I stamped with two different colors of green and did first, second and third generation stamping to get the illusion of depth.  I grounded everything with a sentiment strip that I colored in ombre fashion with Copics, then stamped the sentiment using two different sentiments from the Hoppy Spring Stamp Set.

The sentiment strip and bunny are popped up on foam tape.  A few sequins finish the card.

For this card, I wanted to use the new Fern Background Stamp for a technique that I watched Jennifer McGuire do.  I started out by selecting bunches of sentiments (I have listed all of the sets at the end of this post).  I placed them on my cardstock in my MISTI and then closed the door, keeping all of the sentiments perfectly placed.  I actually made 3 backgrounds doing this- so easy- once they are in the MISTI, you can stamp them as many times as you want.  But I am getting ahead of myself.  I stamped the sentiments with white pigment ink.  Once dry, I stamped the Fern Background Stamp in ink that was a close color to the cardstock for a tone on tone look.

Once my background panel was done, I die cut a circle in the panel.  I then die cut a white frame for the opening. Behind this circular opening, I adhered a pretty,  springy, pastel, floral paper.  My sentiment was made with the new Blessings Die.  I love this die and for the price, you can't beat it.  The word, 'sending' is from the Hoppy Spring Stamp Set.  I heat embossed it in white on black cs.  I love how the black ties in with the black in the patterned paper.  3 little yellow sequins finish off the card.

If you have not checked out the Sweet n Sassy Stamps March Release, head over to the store; there are so many great new products.  The Fern Background Stamp is also the stamp of the month and is free with a $60 purchase.  The Hoppy Spring Stamp Set also comes with dies in a bundle, saving you some $$. And if you need the whole release (trust me, it is worth it) you can save over $30 when you purchase the New Release Bundle.

And here are the stamps that I used various sentiments from for the Blessings card~
