Happy Birthday

Hello Sunday Friends!

I just wanted to quickly share the card I made for our Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps leader, Korin.  Her birthday was Tuesday and we "showered" her with cards to wish her the happiest birthday.

My image and top sentiment are from the One of a Kind digital stamp set.  I love how easy it is to search through the digital stamps on the site.  They are completely organized and just a few clicks away from being in your stash.

I added a layered Birthday die cut to finish my card and I hope it made her birthday just a bit brighter.

Have a great day and we'll be back very soon with another post.

God Made You Special

Good Morning, Sweet 'n Sassy friends! It's Gloria with you today, with my first post as part of the SNSS design team! I am so excited to be here!

I have created a 5 x 5 inch friendship card to share with you. I used the NEW Birthday Word Art stamp set for my focal sentiment (and not to toot my own horn, but I designed the set and I am like a proud mama). I used the sweet One of a Kind set for the main image.

I colored my birdies with alcohol markers. I also colored in the word "special" on the sentiment. Everything is coordinated with pinks and blues, with that glorious pop of green!

I used a sentiment from the One of a Kind set for the inside of the card. I always decorate the inside!

Thanks for joining me today. Please drop by my blog, Scraps of Life and visit!

Spring is in the Air!

Hello friends!  Don't you just love Spring?  We've had such a glorious week here...wonderful weather, birds chirping, flowers blooming, time to create!  Spring...what a perfect picture of how God works in our lives.  He takes the dormant, barren, winter times of our lives and brings forth new growth and a fresh outlook...Sorrow may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning!  (Psalm 30:5)  Praise the Lord!

With Spring in mind, I have two cards to share with you today.  The first was inspired by The Sweet Stop sketch. Korin posts a fabulous new sketch over at The Sweet Stop every Saturday.  If you are not familiar with The Sweet Stop, hop on over and join the fun!

Hearing the birds chirping outside my crafting place caused me to reach for this adorable clear stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, "One of a Kind."  I followed the sketch for this week at The Sweet Stop.  The image is colored with copic markers, cut out, and adhered to an oval nestie sponged with some clouds.  The colors were inspired by Bridget's "Hump Day" challenge on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Forum at SCS which was to use aqua and red.  My aqua was more turquoise, but I really liked this combination...it's so cheerful!  The patterned paper was by My Mind's Eye and was perfect for this color challenge!

The blooming flowers of Spring caused me to reach for this beautiful Spring Tulips Digi image for my second card.  This image is also available in a clear stamp set.

Sometimes cropping an image can provide a creative element for a card.  Here...the tulip image was cropped for the first layer and left uncolored.  The second layer was cropped smaller and colored with copic markers. Everything was layered on some green gingham DP. The sketch for this card was from Arizona Maine for the CAS challenge this past Monday on SCS.

I hope you have a chance to enjoy Spring wherever you are this weekend, and can find some stamping time to capture a bit of Spring!

Blessings to you,
Cathymac

Many Thanks!

Good Morning!

It's Monika, back with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I am so excited to be working with Korin and the fabulous team again!

I saw a technique the other day that I really wanted to try and I thought the very pretty birds on a branch image from One of a Kind clear stamp set (also available in digital format) would work great.

I stamped the image, colored it with Copic Markers, and cut it out. Then I cut a circle opening on my card. Before attaching the layers, I sandwiched a clear sheet between the white base card and Kraft panel, so my cut out image would look like it was 'floating'.
I actually used the colors from yesterday's Inspiration Challenge over in our Member Company Forums on SplitCoastStampers.
The greeting came from Gifts from Turtle clear stamp set. I stamped it on a thin strip and sandwiched it between the layers just like I did with the clear sheet. I stamped up some extra leaves to use around the edge... to add some sparkle to my card, I used silver rhinestones. I also used some Baker's Twine. The background is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and the edges are sponged and distressed. Great way of giving your card some texture.
I hope you will try this great technique. It is fairly easy and looks great.

Thanks for stopping by today,
Monika

Just Because You're You

Good Morning!  This post is a hard one for me to do - I can't believe that 6 months has just flown by and this is my last entry for Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  I have really enjoyed my time being a Diva and I thank Korin (over and over) for having given me the opportunity to be here.

So for my last entry, my card features the sweet new image, Abby's Birdhouse and a sentiment from One of a Kind.  I hope you like it.

I did use a lovely sketch from Card Patterns for the layout and some great paper from the Latte Matstack from DCWV.  It's a sweet and simple card that, I think, delivers a message with impact.

Thank you for all the sweet comments you've left me for the cards I've shared during this time!

Many hugs & blessings,
Melissa

Customer spotlight Sunday

Have you all been enjoying our Spring blog hop? I have seen some really terrific cards that everyone has made. Speaking of terrific, our customer spotlight for this week is Stephanie Wright.

I chose this beautiful card from Stephanie's blog because it really reminds me of spring. The papers she chose are so cheerful and I can just hear the birds singing :). Stephanie used the One of a Kind set for her card and this adorable image is also available as a digi.

Thank you Stephanie for sharing your lovely card with us today!

God made you.....

Good Morning!

Today I have a card I made using One of a Kind clear stamp set. I fell in love with these birds the first time I saw them.... and the greetings are just perfect!

I decided to cut out my main image. I love cutting and I think it makes such a big difference when you can pop up your main image.

I stamped the image and cut it out with a circle Nestie die... then I stamped another image on a piece of scrap paper, and cut it out... As you can see, I did not cut out the little vines, those are on the circle background. The image is colored with Copic Markes. To add a bit of sparkle to my image, I used Stickles. I love the aged look, so I sponged then distressed the edges... I also added faux stitching... it is very easy and a great technique if you don't have a sewing machine (or it's out of commission like mine). The little white flower is hand crocheted.
Thanks for visiting!

God made you special.....

...and He loves you very much. Are those words familiar to you? My kids were huge Veggie Tales fans and even now that they've out grown the sweet singing/acting vegetables, they will still watch them once in awhile or sing a silly song. Well, with the great line up of new releases this month, the sentiment (used on my card) from One of a Kind reminded me of Bob's wise words.

God did make you for a special purpose and I truly believe that in the way we treat each other, love our families and worship Him is a glimpse of the person He is molding you to be. Our real potential will never fully be developed until we are in Heaven with Him, but I think that here on earth we certainly should be practicing.

You can practice by just saying a little prayer for a friend, or helping a child see the awe of Creation or just being kind enough to create a card for someone special. So go ahead... practice!

Many hugs & blessings,
Melissa

One of a Kind

Are you buried under snow?
We are here in NH!
Yikes, I would like it to be a bit more like this card. Today I have the newly released stamp set "One of a Kind," from
I colored the image with copics and cut out the focal image with my deckle rectangle nestie, added a bow and some pearls to dress it up!

Thanks for stopping by and check out the new releases from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.
