Me & You Love Themed Cards

Greetings, crafty friends! Today I'm sharing the Valentine's Day cards that I created for my kiddos and hubby using the fabulous You & Me stamp set. I know it's a bit passed Valentine's Day, but any day is a good day to share a love-themed card, right?

One of the other highlights of these cards, and is something I talk about in today's video, is how to effectively showcase smaller stamped images. It seems like a small image in a stamp set can sometimes create a design challenge. How do you use a small image on a large card space? Today's three cards demonstrates a similar techniques - create visual interest in the background and give your small image a "home" - but here are a few other ideas to consider:

1) Create a smaller card, a 3" x 3" or 4" x 4"
2) Use a neutral ink to repeatably stamp your small image over a piece of cardstock, creating your own designer paper
3) Create "windows" in your card and have your small images peek out from behind the windows.
4) Pop up small images on tiny tags, positioned on a card base
5) Create a spotlight by stamping the image multiple times in a neutral color, but only color one of the images.

These are just a few ideas for you to try! Below is the technique video, which will walk you through the steps I took to create each card. Enjoy and happy crafting!

Tutorial Monday--Tag Treat Box by Jane Bosi

{jane bosi}
Happy Monday, Sweet Friends!  I have a fun tutorial today that makes an out of the box use of the Bookmarks & More Dies:
I used the bottom bookmark die for my project, but you could easily adapt the top die and use it too!

For this project, you will need, in addition to the Bookmarks & More Dies:  card stock for two dies, a complimentary card stock or designer paper that measures 1 1/2" x 7 3/4", adhesive, a hole punch, ribbon, stamps, ink and a scoring/paper cutting tool.  And, most importantly.....a treat!

Begin by cutting and scoring two bookmark dies:
Using the die cut shown, with the rounded end on the right hand side, score at 1 3/4" and 5 1/4". Do this for both bookmark die cuts.

Next, join the two bookmarks by adhering the two bottom sections together.

And hole punch the top of the bookmarks:
Set the bookmark piece aside and prepare the wrap.  For this, you can use either a piece of designer paper or a complimentary piece of card stock.  I've chosen to use the card stock and stylize it with the new Floral Pattern Background stamp.

As a reminder, the wrap piece measures 1 1/2" x 7 3/4".  Along the length, you will need to score at 1 3/4', 3 3/4", 5 1/2" and 7 1/2".  Place adhesive on the two 2" sections only:
After removing the adhesive backing, secure the wrap piece to the front and back panels of the tag box:
Add your treat, secure the top with ribbon and decorate!
This would make a super easy shower, party or classroom treat!  It will easily accomodate a prepackaged candy, like a fun size candy bar or bag of m&ms.  The possibilities are endless!

I couldn't resist decorating mine with an adorable image from You & Me!  I mounted the peas and carrots die cut image on a label die cut (also from Bookmarks & More) and added a few sentiments.
Thanks for stopping by!  TTFN--don't forget to be awesome!  Jane

You and Me Go Together Like...

Peanut butter and jelly!  WooHoo!  How darn cute is this set?  The You and Me stamp set is one of my all time favorite Sweet 'n Sassy sets, and I've used it frequently since it was released.  And this month...you can get coordinating dies to cut out all of the sweet images in the set.  Fabulous!
My card features a fun pop up design, which when folded lays flat.  The box part of the card slides up over the main area of the card, hiding the card inside.  This is a super easy project and you can find instructions on the Splitcoaststampers web site, here.  Interested in some other cards that I created using the You and Me set...check out some more goodies below!  Enjoy your weekend!

Peas and Carrots

Good morning!

I just love the You & Me stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  Those images and sentiments that Korin put in it are so fun and quirky... love!  When I saw this image I was reminded of this old Cosmo Cricket 6x6 paper pack with garden images on it... I don't even remember what it's called right now and I'm not sure it's still available.  But, image my delight when I saw papers with both carrots AND peas on it!  YAY - a match made in heaven! lol!

Playing on the green and orange colors, I used The Twinery's Peapod and Mandarin twines for a double bow on the tag and then 'shabby-ed' it up a bit with a doily, ribbon and rose.  Fun card and fun supplies to play with!

 Have a great day!

Milk and Cookies with Guest Designer Jennifer Ingle

Hello, Sweet n' Sassy friends! This is Jingle here with you again today with a super fun card with one of my favorite Sweet n' Sassy stamp sets! For today's card, I used the You & Me Clear Stamp set and I LOVE IT!!!
You Complete Me
Ummm...yup. Pure and utter cuteness! {HEART!} To create this card I simply layered the dark teal cardstock on a white card base and paneled the white background over that. I stamped the milk and cookies in the corner to give it a little extra interest and added just a bit of color.

I hope you have a super wonderful Tuesday!

{You & Me}

 Good morning!

Jessica here with some cards I recently made with the adorable You & Me stamp set!  This is such a fun stamp set with lots of fun 'punny' images and sentiments to use to make quick cards for friends and family.  I'm sharing these three cards that I whipped up for my husband and 2 kids.

As you cam see, minimal layers and embellishments are needed because of how adorable this stamp set is!  Gotta love that!

Before you go, I wanted to share this card that I made that can be found in the new Exquisite Embellishments book...

I used the beautiful Peace of God stamp set for this one.  I have one more SNSS card in this book using our sweet Cocoa Mouse too!

Have a wonderful day!  And, if you haven't picked up this You & Me stamp set yet - what are you waiting for?  *wink!*

I made a couple of cards to go along with this week's Ways to Use It challenge over on Splitcoaststampers this week.  The first one uses the lovely Together Silhouettes clear stamp set - I love that sweet image!

We Go Together Like Peas and Carrots

Have I told you lately that I adore this new set, You & Me? I love it just about as much as I love coffee and donuts (another one of the fun images included in the set!) And ok, I like peas and carrots too, especially when they come complete with sweet little faces and coordinating sentiments!

I opted to use some lovely vintage paper from October Afternoon for today's card. I don't know why but the You & Me set reminde me of a 50's diner and the Farmhouse line from October Afternoon is the perfect combo! My pea and carrot are colored with Copic markers and popped up with some foam tape. I also added some lovely seam binding ribbon, along with a big 'ol pearl.

Head on over to the Sweet 'n Sassy shop and check out this great set!!

You & Me

One of my fondest childhood memories is of opening my sassy metal lunchboxes in Mrs. French's kindergarten to discover that my mother had blessed me with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and milk. Peanut butter is the ultimate comfort food, and still one of my favorites.

It's only fitting that I pay tribute to it today with a little PB & J from You & Me!

It's SUCH an adorable set and I just colored it with ShinHan Touch Twin markers and punched it out.

Honestly, it made me hungry!

I hope your day is sweet!

You Complete Me

I am SUPER excited about today's card!!  Not only was this week my first official time as one of the new Sketch Challenge Hostesses over at Splitcoaststampers (along with Korin and Holly - what a great trio we make!), I used one of the fantastic new stamp sets being released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps this week.  How stinkin' cute is the glass of milk and bunch of cookies?!?!?! The stamp set is called You & Me, and it is definitely one of my favorites from the release.

I also combined this card with this week's Inspiration Challenge I host over in the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps member company forums.  I love this photo I found on Pinterest;  my card echoes the circles from the background, the cookie theme, and the colors (sort of - I used them, but in different hues).

I hope you can find some time to come play along with one or both of these great challenges!!  And if you need even more to challenge you, play along with our release party challenges for chances to WIN a FREE set from the new release:

And.....I love the new release SO much, I'm giving away a free set, just to spread the love.  Head over to this thread on SCS and just tell me which one is your favorite. That's it!! It's that simple!
