serene scene

Good morning!  We are using some of the SNSS masculine sets this week for some inspiration for Father's Day next month.  Today I used the Forest Silhouettes and Serene Silhouettes sets, along with the Bare Tree die on my card.

First I masked the hill and sponged the sun with a punched circle.  Then I sponged the sky and grass, followed by the water.  Everything was stamped with navy ink except the grass, which was stamped in green using the tips of the tree branches.  The large tree was diecut with navy cardstock.

Thanks for popping in and… happy stamping!

Mid Winter Shape Up

Hello Everyone!
We have made it half way through February and I have to believe that spring is right around the corner!  That said, these cold winter days do make good crafting days!
I have 3 cards to share with you today~

I used the very versatile Shape Up Stamp Set for this masculine and very mailable birthday card.  The shape was stamped in a repeating pattern to create my background.  The sentiment panel uses a technique I do not use enough- stamping a sentiment over an image. I used a stamp from the Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set and using kraft ink, stamped off once and then stamped onto my card stock.  I added the sentiment and drew a line around the panel with a fine tip marker.  I have been hoarding this ribbon for quite some time, but this seemed the perfect card to use it on.

This next card uses another image from Shape Up and also uses its coordinating die.

I also used the  Bloom and Grow set as well as the Delightfully Delicate Background.  I stamped my three hexagons and die cut them out.  The flower was stamped and fussy cut out and I used the Small Leaves Die for the leaves (well, I guess that was obvious!).  My background panel was stamped in red on kraft card stock using the Delightfully Delicate Background image.  I added a decorative edge using the Scalloped Border Dies.

Lastly, I have a cheery card made with the Keep in Touch Stamp Set~

Washi tape is the main ingredient on this card.  I added diagonal strips of 4 different tapes to a panel of white cs and popped it up on dimensionals.  The rest of the background is dry embossed.  I curved the sentiment stamp to be able to stamp it around the inside edge of my circle.  The phone was die cut out with its matching die and popped up on dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a blessed week!

Hello, Sunshine!

Hello, Sweet 'n Sassy friends!  Cathy here to share a couple of cards with you today...one sneak peek and one from a past release.  I was recently on vacation at the beach where I love to watch the sun rise over the ocean.  Often sunrises and sunsets are just breathtaking, so both of my cards feature the sun!

The sun on this first card was masked and the sky sponged before adding silhouettes from several popular silhouette sets...Nature Silhouettes 2Landscape Silhouettes, Long Stem Silhouettes, and Serene Silhouettes.  The panel was split to make room for the sentiment.  Don't you just love the swinging boy Silhouette?  It's from one of the new stamp sets being released tomorrow, God Is...  The card front was matted in black and stitching added across the sponged panel and around the one corner.  The sketch design is from this week's Sweet Stop Challenge.

The sun on the second card was made from strips of DP stitched together.  The clouds and sentiment are from the Head in the Clouds stamp set.  The Clouds & Raindrop dies, the Fence die, and the Birds & Feather dies were used to create the scene and a few rhinestones added for a little sparkle.

Even though the sentiment on the second card makes reference to the sun, it reminds me of the son...God's son shining grace and mercy into our lives.  What an awesome thought to think that one day we will have no need for the sun because we will have the presence of THE SON!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit with us today!
Have a bright sun-filled day!

Hugs,
Cathy

Fun with Embossing

Hey there!! I'm so excited to share today's card! First because I get to show off two of my all time favorite Sweet 'n Sassy stamp sets and second because I get to share an embossing technique that I picked up at an online class last week!

I've been embossing for years (the first time I learned how to emboss, I embossed anything I could get my hands on! LOL!) but I confess that sometimes I tend to only emboss the same 'ol way. When I attended an online class last week, I learned a few quick and easy tricks, like embossing with clear powder on top of a printed paper. I puffy hear this look!!

Once the image, grass from the Serene Silhouettes set, was embossed I covered the entire piece of designer paper with Distress Inks and then buffed the excess ink off of the embossed area. Cool, huh? And then...I embossed this little butterfly, from the Flowers in Bloom set, with black embossing powder. To color the butterfly? Another fun trick...Add Distress Ink to a craft sheet and include a small dab of Perfect Pearls. Mist with water, grab your paint brush and paint away! The finished butterfly has a lovely pearl appearance...very, very cool!

Since the front of my card didn't include a lot of space for a sentiment I decided to add a small piece of the designer paper to the inside, along with a few stamped image and the sentiment. Oh, and the sketch is this week's Splitcoast sketch challenge!

Hope you enjoyed today's card and why not give some of these embossed techniques a try!!

Peaceful Swans

Hello! For my card today I used the newly released Peaceful Swans stamp set. It is also available as a digi set. I combined it with the Serene Silhouettes set. I cut out my swan and popped him up and then softly sponged around it to help create my little scene. I went with a sympathy sentiment but I think this would also make a great masculine card also.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!
