Butterflies and Roses

 Happy Monday! Esther here today sharing two cards that feature my new favorite way to add texture and interest to my card fronts --- by dry embossing over stamped images! 

This first card is done up in a fun collage style. Since it's a stamping-only card it's great for those days you just don't feel like coloring or maybe don't have enough time to do something up right. 

I created the collage background by stamping images from Going Postal and Nature Silhouettes in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.

I embossed the background with the organic linen 3D embossing golder from Altenew, and added some sweet little butterflies (Made New stamp set) stamped in three colors of distress oxide (Tumbled Glass, Kitsch Flamingo, and Evergreen Bough).

Rose in Bloom

 I printed it on all four corners of my card and used Arteza Real Brush Pens to give it a messy watercolor look.  After some text stamping (Psalm 23 Background) and paint splatters, I used the same organic linen embossing folder  to add a bit of texture to my card panel.

I finished it off by printing one of the sentiments from Rose in Bloom and die cutting it with the Elegant Ovals Nestabilities from Spellbinders.

I used two sets she illustrated on my cards today. The first is called Flower Garden and I created some Mother's Day cards with it. I also used a sentiment from the new Rose In Bloom Digital set. This is a 3x6 Mini Slimline card.

My second card was made with her Mer-mazing stamp set. This set has a sweet little mermaid and several other cute sea themed images to accompany her. I used the "keep swimming" sentiment...I think we all can relate to that one! lol. The background was created with Distress inks which were applied to acetate, spritzed with water, and "smooshed" onto the paper.

For today's card, I am using Rose in Bloom by Jennifer Nilsson.

 

 

I started by sizing and printing the rose image and sentiment. I colored the image with watercolors and fussy cut out. I stamped the notebook paper from Your Story with Antique Linen Distress ink on ivory cardstock. I hand trimmed out, hole punched the side and stamped images from Going Postal with Vintage Photo Distress ink. I die cut a piece of patterned paper from my stash and assembled as seen wrapping twine around the front. I popped the image and sentiment up with foam tape and added three small pearl embellishments.
