For the Birds

Hello sweet friends!  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has many stamp sets with wonderful bird images.  The two cards I have to share today use two of these stamp sets.  The first card includes birds from the newly released Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands set.

To create the background for this card, distress inks were applied to a piece of acetate, spritzed with water, and the ink on the acetate used to "paint" the scene.  The trees from Landscape Silhouettes were stamped on the horizon, then stamped again on a piece of acetate, flipped ink side down under the trees and rubbed onto the card to make the reflection.  Silhouettes from Scene Silhouettes: Wetland Grass and Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands were added.  A sentiment from the Thoughtful Words set embossed on a pennant flag completes the card.

My second card was made just in time for Valentine's Day and features the cute birds from the Love Birds stamp set.

Clouds were sponged on the background.  All of the images were colored with Copic Markers and cut with coordinating dies that are no longer available.  The hearts were covered with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents and hung from the branches with metallic thread.  A sentiment from the Stand Tall stamp set was embossed to finish the card.

All of the stamp sets used to create the cards above are available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store!

There's still time to take advantage of the new February Release Bundle available for pre-order until February 9th!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to check back often to see more beautiful samples created by the Creative Team for your inspiration!

Faith Sees the Invisible - Distress Ink Backgrounds with Silhouette Images

Hello, crafty friends! Kim here with you today! Welcome to today's project featuring two of my all time favorite sets, Wetlands and Wetland Grass, which were introduced in January. (I love me some silhouette stamps!)

I created two cards with the new sets, showcasing a Distress Ink background technique. The video below will take you through each step of the process, showing you the technique so that you can reproduce the same look. Links to products below the video. Enjoy and happy crafting!

With Thoughts and Prayers

Hello! Today I want to share this clean and simple card with you. I love to use the silhouette stamps on CAS-cards. Sometimes you just want to let someone know that you're thinking about them and it's not the right time to send bright and colorful cards. This is a great solution.

I masked the area on the cards where I didn't want the ink and started blending two colors of blue ink into each other. When I removed the masking tape there's a nice strip of blue color in the background. I stamped the silhouettes on top of the blended area with black ink and a couple of birds above it. I really love this sentiment from Mason Jar Bouquet so I had to add it to this card. I added a couple of sequins to give the card a little bit more sparkle.

January release cards

Hello! I am sharing a couple of cards with you today using stamps from the NEW January release.

For my first card I used Stop Drop Pray and Whimsy Bouquet. I just stamped, colored with Copics, and popped my panel up on a sheet of white craft foam. A few drops of Stickles were added to the little dots.

Here I used Through The Trees and Thoughtful Words. The trees were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and outlined with a light blue Copic marker. I tore the left edge and layered it over a punched scallop border. Then I added some ribbon with a few folds in it, securing it with Scor-Tape and a gold brad.

Next I used Scene Silhouettes: Wetland Grass, Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands, and Thoughtful Words. (Wetlands is the January 2018 Stamp of the Month!). The background on the circle was masked/sponged.

And my last card was created with Whimsy Bouquet (such a pretty floral set) and Thoughtful Words. A perfect card for getting a jump start on Valentine's Day! The floral images were colored with Copics.

Have a great day!

Faith Makes the Impossible Possible

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here and today I am sharing a quick card using the January Stamp of the Month- Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands (free with any $60 order) along with the Scene Silhouettes: Wetland Grass and Faith.

I love the silhouettes in all of the new stamp sets- perfect for all types of occasions as well as masculine cards!

I created the background scene using distress inks before stamping the images with an archival black ink and heat setting with clear embossing powder. Once cooled, I cut the panel into 3” x 3” square and hand trimmed to nine 1” squares.

The sentiment from Faith was stamped onto white cardstock using archival black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, trimmed and mounted onto black cardstock.

I also heat embossed the duck image from Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands  before fussy-cutting.  After mounting the 1” squares with dimensional foam, adding the fussy-cut duck image, I finished off the card with a few crystal drops.

Quick and easy- a fun card using just stamping techniques! No special dies needed.

I hope I have inspired you today and thanks for taking the time to visit us- hugs and God Bless, sweet friends!
