A Little Inspiration

Good morning Sweet 'n Sassy Friends!  I have two cards to share with you today that were made with the help of "A Little Inspiration."  Sometimes my creativity needs a jump start...how about you?   When that happens, there are several places I go for a little inspiration!  This past Saturday, Korin suggested RedEnvelope for the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. There I found a giraffe platter that inspired my Embossed Silhouettes card.

The beautiful silhouette image from the new Nature Silhouettes clear stamp set was stamped with VersaMark ink and clear embossed.  The stripes were masked, then sponged with distress inks.  The frame was made by cutting ovals out of the Select White and Blueberry Sky panels.  The white panel was then dry embossed with a Sizzix folder and a canvass impression plate after the sentiment from the Season of Change set was stamped at the bottom.  Piercing, pearls, and a bow were added.

My second card was inspired by the "Hump Day" #41 Challenge on the SNSS Forum over at Splitcoaststampers. I happen to be hosting the challenge today which is a photo from a favorite inspiration spot, A Creative Mint.

The rosettes were made to represent the cupcake papers in the photo.  The stars, the rhinestones, and the pop of red were also inspired by the photo!  The Seeing Spots clear stamp set, the Star Die Set, Vintage Postcard, and the Pennants and More Die Sets were used to make the elements on top of the rosettes.  I hope you'll have a chance to check out the "Hump Day" Challenge and play along, especially if your creativity needs a little jump start!

Thanks for stopping by and have an inspiring week!

Hugs to You!

Thinking of You

Welcome to the weekend! Anyone have any exciting plans for today? Today is my oldest's birthday and we'll be celebrating eight wonderful years!! Can't believe he is already eight! Goodness, the time goes by quickly!!

Well before I head off to eat cake, let's take a peek at today's card that features the Seeing Spots stamp set. This is such a versatile set, with images that are perfect for all kinds of events and even ones that can be used for backgrounds! There are even a boatload of sentiments too!

One of my favorite images, no surprise, is the butterfly! For this card I stamped three butterflies in three opposite colors and used a 1" punch to cut them out. I also used tiny pearls as bodies and attached them to the card with foam tape. The paper at the bottom of the card is from We R Memory Keepers and the newsprint is from Stampin' Up! Ribbon is from Papertrey and the button is a fun wooden one that I found at Michael's for a bit 'ol dollar!

Enjoy your weekend and eat some cake in honor of our birthday party!

Christmas Present

I have pretty limited craft budget so I really enjoy getting the most out of my supplies and using them in new ways. For the card I am sharing with you today, I used an all occasion everyday stamp set to create a Christmas card. I was inspired by a Christmas ad that I recently saw and that is where the idea for my card came from.

I stamped several different images from the Seeing Spots set in both red and gold inks to make a square. I then matted it and used some organdy ribbon to make it look like a present. The card was further embellished with gold stickles and gold pearls in the corners. I "framed" the sentiment by placing it between 2 score lines. I was fairly happy with how this card came out and I am planning on making more in some different color combos.

Supplies
stamps- Seeing Spots
Cardstock- Gold Sparkle, Blanc Sparkle and red from Paper Temptress
embellishments- gold pearls, gold stickles, gold organdy ribbon, and scor-pal

Tis the season for holiday shopping! This week's birthday special at Sweet N Sassy stamps is Buy a $25 gift certificate and get a $5 gift certificate for yourself. Now that is my kinda shopping- one for you and one for me too so everyone is happy lol.

Well, have a great day and thanks for stopping in!

Love you

Hi there!

I have a CAS card to share with you today using the adorable Seeing Spots stamp set and papers that are available in the card kit that Korin designed.  I paired it together with the flower from Your Friendship stamp set, which has a card kit available with the same papers as the Seeing Spots kit.   I added the 'i love you' sentiment on the leaves - love that quick little addition!

Have a great rest of your day - I hope it includes some stamping time!

Quick and Easy Polka Dots

Today is my grandma's 87th birthday and I don't even have a card made for her yet- ugh! Anyway, I was checking through some of my cards looking for some ideas to make a pretty but fast card and this was the one that stood out to me. The theme of this card is love but you can easily adapt it for many occasions.

First, I started out by picking some cool polka dot paper from Echo Park's Dots N Stripes collection. Then I used 2 of the stamps from the Seeing Spots set and stamped right in the middle of the dots alternating the image with the sentiment. So, for grandma's card I am going to use the "happy birthday" sentiment and pair it with the flower circle.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Thanks A Dot!

Happy Saturday everyone!   And for those living in Canada -  Happy Canada Day yesterday.  Here in the US we're at the beginning of a wonderful long weekend to celebrate the 4th of July!   I'm off to a cookout early this afternoon and I'm looking forward to those hamburgers and hot dogs cooked on the grill!  Whoo hoo!!

Today I wanted to share a bright little card I made using the newly release set called Seeing Spots!  This sweet little set has dots with circles, butterflies, stars, stripes and flowers PLUS eight sentiments for all occasions that can be stamped right in the circles or separately.  And the cost of this versatile set won't break the bank either!

I used the spots and stripes circles on my scallop round card.  First I stamped the circles all on a white panel -  then I stamped 3 of them again on a scrap, punched them out and layered them over the panel with foam tape for a little dimension.  I added rhinestones for a little touch of sparkle and framed it in black and pink.

I used the Floral Doily Motif Shapeability to die cut the lacey framing and cut my card base with a Big Scallop Circle Nestability.

Well -  that's it from me today!  Hope you have some fun plans for your weekend and that the sun is shining for you!!

Hugs,
Julia
