Hello Sweet Friends! Julie sharing a Clean and Simple Mixed Media Christmas card using Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps  Peace of God along with Season of Love.

To create this card, I stamped the tufted titmouse image from the  Peace of God Clear Stamp Set and the sentiment from Season of Love Clear Stamp Set using black archival ink, used distress inks with a water brush to watercolor the bird (adding highlights with a Sharpie White Extra Fine Point Pen) and mounted both onto gray cardstock.

I had the snowflake embossed panel in my stash and applied shimmer paint over the panel before mounting onto a piece of gray cardstock and adhering the entire panel onto the bright pink card base.

I mounted the titmouse along with the sentiment with dimensional foam and dded the silver cord to finish off the card.

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you my last Christmas card of the year. I decided to make a votive holder card.

 

 

The manger image (from Season of Love clear stamp set) was stamped on vellum with VersaMark then was heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The three kings image (from We Three Kings clear stamp set) was stamped on colored cardstock, was heat embossed with gold embossing powder, then was cut out.

 

 

 The greeting was stamped from We Three Kings clear stamp.

Season of Love

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a couple of cards using one of my favorite Christmas sets from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Season of Love.

"Jesus is the Reason for the Season" and the manger scene along with the sentiments in this set are perfect for Christmas!  

The manger scene is a solid image that can stand alone without a sentiment plus you can create Clean and Simple (CAS) cards as well as “Stepped Up” or layered cards.

I decided to create two different cards using the same color combination- Vanilla (Ivory), Gold and Black to show you the versatility of this amazing stamp set!

This first card is a quick CAS card- just stamp and heat emboss the manger image along with the “Jesus is the Reason for the Season” sentiment from the Season of Love set using Gold Embossing Powder onto two separate pieces of Black cardstock.

Create a banner from the sentiment, layer onto Vanilla cardstock, add the banner to the card front as well as the Gold Cord with the bow, adhere the entire stamped card panel onto the Vanilla card base (I added a few scraps of Gold cardstock behind the main image as well from my stash) and you are finished!

The second card is very similar with just a bit more layers- 

Using the Season of Love stamp set, emboss the manger scene using Gold Embossing Powder onto Vanilla cardstock, trim around the image and set aside.

Create the main rectangle pattern using Black and Vanilla cardstock adding bits of punched Gold Vellum paper (I used rectangle and square dies along with a square punch), adhere the Brushed Gold cardstock along the bottom with the scrap strip of Black cardstock. 

Create a card base from Black cardstock with an embossed Vanilla cardstock panel- add the layered rectangle onto the card front using dimensional foam.

Season of Love 

Stamp and emboss the “Merry Christmas!” sentiment from the Season of Love set onto Black cardstock,  punch out with a circle punch (I layered this onto a wooden circle embellishment to give it a bit more stability), add the sentiment along with the manger scene to the card front with dimensional foam and add the Pearl to the center of the star to finish off the card.

So which one do you prefer?  Both cards were pretty simple...the second card took more time with all of the layering, fussy-cutting and dry embossing but that is the style of card that I enjoy making :-)

But, this time of year, CAS cards are some of my favorites as well since there is only thirteen more days until we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior!

Season Of Love

Today I am showcasing the set Season of Love. 

Here are a couple of samples I made with it

For my first sample I stamped the silhouette image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used some Squeezed Lemonade and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks to sponge around the image. The greeting is from one of our Bible journaling sets, Name Above All Names. 

My Second sample is a watercolored version, I stamped the image this time in Versafine Black Onyx ink and used some Brusho powdered watercolors for both backgrounds. Again the greeting is from the Name Above All Names set.

A Little About Me:

My husband and I  are empty nesters except for Willis our spoiled Shih Tzu. and we are in the middle of a huge transfer move from Denver, Colorado to Maggie Valley, North Carolina, so from the Rockies to the Smokies. We both are originally from the east coast so it's closer to family.

I have been crafting in some for or fashion since I was a little girl. I have always loved to color, still do and Art class was my fave. I have been a stamper about 15 years and have been blessed to be on several design teams and have a very supportive husband.

How long have you been a fan of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps? 

I have been a Sweet 'n Sassy  fan since the beginning and have been involved in some capacity almost from the beginning as well. 

What do you enjoy outside of stamping? 

I enjoy being outdoors, hiking or just admiring God's beauty especially in the fall. I also enjoy reading and of course spending time with my family.

What is your "day" job? 

At the present time my "day" job is unpacking the 500 plus boxes the movers dropped off last wednesday. I don't know where all this stuff came from, haha. I am fortunate enough to be a stay at home wife where my "day" job is crafting mostly.

Who inspires you? 

That is a hard question, I have so many crafters that inspire me and don't want to leave anyone out so, I am going to say what inspires me and that would be Pinterest, there is so much inspiration there, I usually spend hours looking around.

Share a fun or interesting fact about yourself that most people might not know. I don't do coffee or milk or orange juice in the morning, give me a glass of sweet tea and I am happy.

What advice would you give to a new stamper? Join stamping groups like Splitcoaststampers or Stamp Nation. Check out pinterest for inspiration and watch plenty of You Tube videos, but most of all have fun and never under estimate yourself.

Favorite set? what about favorite sets! I have many that are my go to sets for different seasons. I looked back on my blog and Parisian Postcard is one I have used quite a bit, here are some samples I pulled from my blog.
