You're A True Friend

So my personal challenge for August is to actually SEND the cards that I make! This one is going to a friend of mine that just started teaching again this month after being an administrator of sorts for the last five years, helping other teachers teach better!

My images are from two of my SNSS sets: Parisian Postcard (Eiffel Tower) and Poppies & Greetings (sentiment).

I used reinkers to watercolor a two-color background for my Eiffel Tower, which was stamped with Encore Gold, and then embossed with Gold Detail EP. A few embellishments and some matching designer paper, and my shabby chic card is done!

Thanks for looking and stopping by today! I would love to hear what you think.

Praying for You

Good morning!

It's Jessica popping in with a bright 'thinking of you' card to share with you today that I made with these gorgeous flowers from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Flowers in Bloom stamp set.  The sentiment is from Poppies and Greetings stamp set, which I stamped in black Stazon on vellum.

I stamped the images and colored with Copic markers.  Then, I stamped the flowers and butterfly again on Vellum with black Stazon ink.  Before cutting out the images, I colored the back of the vellum with some Copic markers matching the ones I used on the original images and then glued the paper pieced images on top.

I've never paper pieced with vellum before and was pretty tickled to see how well it worked.  It's hard to see the dimension in the photos, but the delicate flower petals and butterfly wings add a nice touch.  When I was finished I added some copper stickles (glitter glue) and spread it just a bit with my finger.

Have a great day!
Jessica

Feeling Better

Good morning!

Jessica here, popping in today to share a card that I made recently with the adorable Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Special Blend stamp set. The get well sentiment is from Poppies and Greetings.

I colored the image in with Copics, using the patterned papers from October Afternoon as my inspiration.  The Twinery's Buttercream twine was a great match to the soft yellows on the flower and paper.

I hope you are feeling well today!

Parade of Poppies

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy Friends!  Have you noticed how poppies are popping up everywhere? Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has several fabulous new poppy stamp sets as well as some old favorites that can be used in many different ways and for many different occasions  I thought I would share several cards made with these stamp sets with you today!

The first card uses the new Precious Poppies stamp set,  Mini Tags & Sentiments,  Mini Tags Die Set, and Friendship Script Background.  Although I love using my Copics, this card was white embossed on Kraft card sock and watercolored with reinkers.  The colors seem to get a little more vibrant on the Kraft card stock with this technique.

And speaking of vibrant, this poppy colored with Copics seems to be popping right off the card!  The Poppy Background stamp was used behind the lattice, and the large poppy from Precious Poppies was used in the middle.

The final card uses an old time favorite, Poppies & Greetings.  The image was stamped several times across the middle panel and colored with Copic Markers.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit with us today!  I hope you've been inspired by this Parade of Poppies!

Blessings to you....and have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Cathy

His Child Sneak Peek

Hello, everyone!  Cathy here with a sneak peek of a new stamp set designed by Dina Kowal being released this Friday by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  The CAS Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers this past Monday was to use the chalkboard technique on our card or project, and since I have never used this technique before, thought I would give it a try!

The darling image and sentiment from the His Child stamp set, along with a few small poppies from the Poppies and Greetings set were stamped on a piece of True Black card stock with Fresh Snow Hybrid Ink.  The frame and faux stitches were doodled around the border using a white Prismacolor pencil.  My finger was used to smudge on more Fresh Snow ink to make this panel look more like a well used chalkboard.  Pearls were added to the centers of the poppies. This panel was mounted on a piece of Sweet Blush card stock and a pink ribbon and bow from my stash were added.  A strip of Webster's Pages DP was mounted to a Solar Crest card base before the chalkboard panel was popped on to finish the card.  These sets were perfect for this technique!

I love this reminder that we are His!  The quote by Debbie Alsdorf is even more relevant at this time of year, having just celebrated Easter where Jesus demonstrated the love He has for each of His children!

To see this entire stamp set and the other sets being released this month, please be sure to join us Friday here on the SNSS Blog and on the SNSS Member Forum over at Splitcoaststampers for a fun day filled with challenges and prizes!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to stop back again tomorrow for another sneak peek!

Hugs,
Cathy

Birthday Poppies

Good morning!

Jessica here with a card I made recently using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' beautiful poppy stamp set called Poppies and Greetings.  I stamped the poppies on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  Then, I tore around the image and impressed it with an aida cloth impression plate to make it look like it was cross stitched.  To finish it off, I shaded the edges of the focal image with a light brown chalk ink.

To finish the card off, I added some patterned paper, stitched to the card front (which was impressed with a woodgrain impression plate) and added a sentiment to the front of the focal image.  For a bit of elegance, I added some beautiful gold shimmer twine.

Before I go, don't forget about the end of the year SNSS sale event going on now until the end of the year!  Every stamp is 15% off in the store - no coupon code needed!  Thanks, Korin!

I hope you had a blessed Christmas with your loved ones!
Happy New Year!

Poppy Greetings

Hello everyone!  Cathy here with another DT Favorite!  I just love the variety of floral images available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Store.  I'm not alone when I say that Poppies and Greetings is one of my favorites.

The color scheme and the layout of this card, which also happens to be the Sweet Stop Sketch for this week, were kept pretty clean and simple to show off the beauty of the poppies.  The rich tones on the flowers were achieved with Copic Markers, and several poppies were colored twice, cut out, and popped up for dimension.  Sponging, stitching, and some subtle texture on the background layer were added for interest.  The best thing about this stamp set is that you can get it now at the Sweet 'n Sassy Store for 25% off, as well as all of the other DT Favorites, until November 7th.  Our favorites are probably your favorites too, so don't miss this opportunity to add some of these much loved sets to your collection!

Thanks so much for stopping by...have a blessed Sunday!
Hugs,
Cathy
