Nightscape Guy Cards

Hello everyone! I am back today sharing two guy cards featuring the brand new June Product of the Month Grunge Gears Stencil. This stencil is yours free this month with a $50 qualifying order! Check out what the team has done with this fabulous stencil and be on the lookout for more inspiration throughout the month.

I confess, I had zero inspiration before this stencil arrived in the mail. I just started pulling sets out I thought might work with it and let the ideas flow from there.

I created the backgrounds almost exactly the same way. The lighthouse one is fainter because I started with a layer of speckled egg distress oxide ink since I wasn't sure I liked the first one I did. In the end, I decided to use both.

First, I taped down the stencil over a piece of white cardstock. Then, I went over it with distress oxide inks(picked raspberry, wilted violet, faded jeans and chipped sapphire). I continued to blend the inks until I was happy with it. Once I removed the stencil, I went over the background lightly with a combination of faded jeans and chipped sapphire. I die cut the panel, masked off a line with post-it notes where I wanted the water to be and went over that section heavy handed with chipped sapphire.

After I removed the post it notes, I heat set the ink and embossed the images with black powder along the water line. Don't forget to use an anti static powder first! I used post-it notes to mask off the embossed areas to add white paint splatters to the top and water texture to the bottom with white pigment ink and a texture stamp. Finally, I stamped the sentiment with black ink directly on the panel, matted the panel with black and attached to a white base.

Snarky Girls Unite!

For today's post, I had so much fun with one of the November sets called A Little Snarky. She reminds me of my friend Jennifer - I Love it!

I wanted to try multiple coloring options for her so I created two projects.

The first project is a card. I inked her up on some watercolor paper then used some shimmery Michael's brand watercolors. I splashed some ink over the card and created a shadow around her. I also used some designer paper from my stash (only a billion more pieces to use now :) )

For my second project, I created a page in my mini journal page. I used Distress Oxides for the background then used Texture Tiles 1 and Texture Tiles 3 for the dimension.

I colored up my Snarky Girl with Copics and fussy cut her and glued her onto the page. I added a little washi tape and the sentiment and just need to add her to my journal!

I hope you were inspired today!

Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Amazing

Hi friends! It's Julee popping in with a little slimline inspiration with the new Encouraging Peonies set.

I love this huge peony with leaves image and wanted to make it the star of a card.  I colored with Copic markers, then hand trimmed around the image and added foam adhesive to the back for a little dimension.  The sentiment is from My Thoughts of You and is stamped onto a panel of patterned paper, and then matted with cardstock.  I added this all to an 8.5" x 3.5" slimline card base and then accented with a few holeless sequins and rhinestones.

My next card is similar in style, but I paired the new Stamp for a Cause: Fear Not set with the leaves from Encouraging Peonies, making the Psalm 61:2 verse the star of the show. I stamped around the sentiment panel with the leaves, then matted onto a piece of patterned paper that I stamped with one of the patterns from the Texture Tiles 3 set.  Some black card stock matting and a couple of Copic colored and fussy cut leaves finish things off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day.

Mini Art Journal

Today I have a super fun project. I have been playing around with a mini, mixed media journal I made with watercolor paper (pages are about 4"x 5" so it's a small manageable canvas). I played around with background colors one day - just to get something done on a no-mojo day. now when I want to do a journal page, I can flip to color page I like and start building on it! It really is a great project!

For your inspiration, I have created two pages in my journal.

The first one uses this month's Stamp of the Month - Coffee Talk and one of its great little sentiments. To compliment the sentiment, I inked up one of the people images from Walk Humbly and tried to make it look like she was holding the cup of coffee from her favorite coffee house, breathing in the smell, and just in her own little paradise (I drew fingers on the cup for to this end.) I used the Tim Holtz Splatters stencil, and Texture Tiles 1 to add dimension to the background. I love it!

My second page uses the big sunflower from this month's Like a Sunflower set. I L-O-V-E this one! For the texture on this page (you know there has to be texture!), I used Texture Tiles 3, and Typewriter Text Background

This project has really renewed my mojo! I can't wait to do more pages in it!

I hope you are inspired too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thoughts and Prayers

Hi sweet friends! It's Julee, popping in to share a fun card with the new release.

I started by coloring this beautiful flower image from the Flower Garden set with Zig clean color real brush markers.  I then blended speckled egg distress ink around the edges and set aside.

I chose a background paper from the Sky collection from 49 and market, then added a bit more interest to it with the Texture Tiles 3 set and speckled egg ink.  The paper pad has some fun little image pages that you can fussy cut, so I cut the little chevron element from that, then matted my image panel with crumb cake cardstock that I tore on one edge and also added some interest with the Texture Tiles 3 set and also a bit of dry brushed gesso.  This panel is wrapped with twine and I accented with a paper flower and button.

The little butterfly was stamped, colored, and fussy cut, then added as a little accent to the top right corner.  I finished with a sentiment from Encouraging Thoughts.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you've been inspired.

Delightful Daisies

Hello Sweet 'N Sassy Friends!  Sheri here today with a couple cards featuring the recently released Delightful Daisies stamp set.

I was inspired by a couple of cards I found over on Pinterest and just had to try out this color combo.  I just love how the white pops against the kraft card stock.

Krafty Valentines

Hello friends...welcome to February and a new release by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Today I am sharing several cards made with one of the new stamp sets being released this month...Forever & Always.  These patterned hearts and sentiments are so much fun and perfect for crafting all year long!

The solid heart from Forever & Always was used to add a pattern to my Scan 'N Cut.  The shape was then used to cut the three heart openings from a piece of Kraft card stock.  One of the texture stamps from Texture Tiles 3 and Frayed Burlap Distress ink were used to add texture to the card stock.  The sentiment was white embossed at the bottom of the panel.  The solid heart was stamped in a light shade through the heart openings and the patterned hearts were then stamped with a darker shade.  Twine was dyed to match each of the hearts so they could be hung from the top of the card.  Nuvo drops were added to finish the card.

Dotty papers and dry embossed texture were used as a background for these dotty hearts from the Forever & Always stamp set.

My third Krafty Valentine was actually made with the Filigree Hearts stamp set which was last month's Stamp of the Month but is now available for purchase at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.  White pigment ink was swiped over the raised embossed hearts on the Kraft card stock background.  The Filigree Hearts were stamped and colored with Copic Markers.  They were cut with the Scan 'N Cut and popped onto a Spellbinder's lacey oval die cut on which the sentiment was stamped.  The sentiment is available as a Valentine Sentiments Digital Stamp.

As you can see...I am more than ready for Valentine's Day and you can be too...just check out all the new stamps available from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy crafting,
Cathy

doves of peace

Good morning! I have 2 cards to share today using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Doves of Peace stamp set. I also used Texture Tiles 3 and Thrill of Hope.

I thought the texture stamp on the first card would be a perfect background to mimic the water used in baptism.

The second card is a CAS Christmas card because we all need a little "quick & easy" during the holidays! Here I simply heat embossed the images in white and added a silver strip to the left.

Have a great day!
Diane

happy birthday

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a fun and playful card using the July stamp of the month: Texture Tiles 3 clear stamp set... along with Happy Ocean Friends clear stamp set.

I made a shaker card (seems to be the theme this month) to add a cool dimension to my design. I used the water texture tile image for the background... looks so perfect, don't you think?

I filled the shaker with turquoise micro beads, tiny star and circle sequins:

The inspiration came from this card I made a long (long) time ago:
