Rainbow Birthday

 

Hello friend, Esther here today with a bright and cheery rainbow birthday card. I started by painting a background with distress oxides on Canson Mix Media paper. (These are the colors in order from top to bottom: Kitsch Flamingo, Festive Berries, Wild Honey(mixed with Festive Berries), Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron (mixed with Salty Ocean), Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet.) 

Next I spot stamped the  Geometric Background in Yeti Ink (Lawn Fawn) and embossed it with white embossing powder. I added some white paint splatters to fill in the empty spaces.

The Chinese lanterns are from the Shine Your Light stamp set, and are stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink  and painted with distress oxides. After they were dry, I inked them up with Versamark Watermark Ink and embossed them with Clear Ultra Thick Embossing Powder to give them some shimmer. 

Last of all I stamped the sentiment from Bold Birthdays  in  Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink  and added some sequins.

Make a Wish is the next set in our spotlight. The bold fonts  in this extremely versatile birthday set are perfect for both masculine and feminine cards. And the traditional birthday accoutrements like cake, cupcakes, party hats, and candles are so much fun!

I went for a clean mini slimline with lots of white space, wanting to make the fun images and sentiments in Make a Wish take center stage. Love the fun stamp that can be either sprinkles or confetti! I added a little dimension to the hat by curving the paper with my finger, then adding foam tape to the center and then gluing the sides down securely so it stayed rounded.

For our 13th birthday, we thought we'd bring a little bit more sassy to Sweet 'n Sassy with the A Little Snarky set. After all, SNSS is a teenager now! These humorous sentiments are sure to bring a smile.

Janelle brought this set to life with a set of little encouragement cards sure to bring a smile. So clever to use the A Little Snarky hangry sentiment with our Donut Worry set. She also used Grunge Elements 2 on one of the cards.

Our next spotlight set coordinates perfectly with the A Little Snarky set. Humorous Birthday Innies are funny little sentiments perfect for the inside or outside of your cards!

I created a fun slimline birthday card pairing the Humorous Birthday Innies with the new Birthday Gnome DIGI. These sentiments totally make me smile.

Our Creative Worship set this month is sure to light up your studio! Shine Your Light has fabulous encouraging sentiments and lovely lights of all kinds like lanterns, candles, fireflies, and light bulbs. Such a fun set!
