Delightfully Delicate Word Art...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you an elegant card.

How do you make a quick card with a little bit of interest? Do some heat embossing and voila... everyone will want to know how you did it. Heat embossing is in style again and it is very easy to do.

I started with stamping Delightfully Delicate Background stamp on a white piece of card stock with Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next, I sponged the image with fired brick and mustard seed distressed ink (Tim Holtz). After I achieved the desired look, I wiped the card with a piece of paper towel to take the excess ink off.
It looks so pretty and elegant, don't you think?

The greeting is from Inspirational Word Art 1 clear stamp set. The card itself is only 3-1/2" wide... making your card look extra long is another nice touch. To finish off the card, I rounded the bottom corners... then attached some yarn, a paper flower, cheese cloth, and silver rhinestones to it.

The inspiration to my card came from CASE Study Challenges #178

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Pretty, I like the subtle background pattern and the sponged color, not busy looking, soft yet cheery! Ha, I wasn't aware heat embossing had gone "out of style". I've always liked the look, whether for background or for words, for shine or boldness or resist. I do it when I'm not too lazy to dig out my powders and no one is sleeping. :)

It DOES look pretty and elegant. I love the soft sunset effect background under the embossed pattern. Well done.

Yes, it does look elegant! I love the thinner card as well. It may have been a quick card, but it has the look of timeless beauty!
