Refuge In Him

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here and today I am sharing a Mixed Media card created with the clear stamp sets, His Wings (Creative Worship set designed by Korin Sutherland) and Faith Quote Blocks (designed by NinaB Designs).

I love the designs in both of these sets and thought that they complement each other, don't you?

To create this card, stamp the feathers and bird image from His Wings using archival black ink, heat emboss with clear embossing powder, color the open feather images with distress oxide inks and fussy-cut the images.

I used distress oxide inks for the background panel wash before stamping the Faith Quote Blocks image with archival black ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder.

Layer a woodgrain panel of designer paper (embossed with a woodgrain folder) onto black cardstock, add the twine at the top and mount onto the card front.  Add the fussy-cut feathers and twine bow with the accent.

Add the bird image with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Thanks for taking the time to visit us today and I hope I have inspired you to create something this week- hugs and God Bless, sweet friends!

Christmas, Christmas Time Is Here.....

{jane bosi}

Happy Saturday!  I honestly cannot wrap my head around the idea that I am already making Christmas Cards!! The Sweet N Sassy release, however, makes it hard to resist!  You can see the full release HERE.

Coloring has always been therapeutic for me.  The various trees in the Christmas Topiaries set are just perfect for some focused art therapy.  On both cards, I've water colored using distress inks and Fabiano hot press water color paper.

I saw this fun idea--to create a shaker card using acetate and sewing--in an online video. After making an acetate pocket and filling with pretties, I sewed it closed, added a topiary and sentiment from Christmas easy, y'all. Think how impressed my non-card making friends will be when they get a card like this and wonder of the intricacies involved....LOL!

My second card features another beautiful topiary, pretty paper and some messy bobbin ran out and threatened a messy card, but I did what we crafter's do and pretended it was all part of the plan....

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to check out the wonderful sales and deals going on right now!

Be well---Jane

Merry Christmas

Hello Everyone!!  It's Sheri here with a Christmas card using the the NEW Christmas Botanicals stamp set. This is one of the stamp sets that is part of the September Holiday Release.

For my card I created my own pattern paper and embellishment using one of the smaller holly stamps from the set.  I love being able to customize and have everything match perfectly.  This is also perfect for mass producing.  I plan to stamp out full pages and bring out to the front room and color while I watch TV with hubby.  I can then use the colored images to create layers for my Christmas cards.

Peaceful Dove

Hello everyone!
It's Ceal, here to share a card with you today featuring some of our newest stamps.  There is only 103 days until Christmas so I need to get started on my Christmas cards and our new release has the perfect stamps to get me started.

To make my card I started with a top folding white notecard and a watercolor paper panel cut down with a stitched die. Using Daniel Smith watercolors I made a wash on the panel for my background and then stamped the dove image from the set Peace on Earth and watercolored it with Daniel Smith watercolors as well. The greeting I used is from the Christmas Wishes set.
We have more new Christmas sets in the shop, you can check them out HERE

Christmas Wreath

Hi Everybody,

Regina here and today I'm using a stamp set called Christmas Wreath.  This is the first Christmas card I've made this year!  I promised myself I would start in July and make a few each month and that did not happen.

The card stock I am using is from Gina K Designs called Cherry Red, Black Onyx, and Layering White.  I am really liking the brighter green and red together this year so I stamped the wreath with Colorbox Ink in Jalopeno.  I stamped the berries with Gina K Designs Cherry Red and it covered beautifully.

I got married this past April so I thought it would be nice to make cards using stamps such as 'from us' or 'from the family'.  I used a stamp set called Christmas Wishes.  I really like the fonts in this set. I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with Zing Clear Detail Fine Embossing Powder to give some dimension and shine.  I love how crisp and black Versafine ink looks.

I cut the letter 'B' out with the Silhouette machine.  I have been wanting to get a wooden letter B to go on the front door ever since I got married in April. Monograms are very popular where I live in Mississippi so I liked the idea of using the Letter 'B' on the card making it more personal since the card is 'from our family' and we're newly married this year.   The bow was also cut out with the Silhouette, folded and glued together.  I brushed Wink of Stella in Clear over the bow and put some Glossy Accents in the center.

To finish it off I used some red and silver metallic twine from my stash. Glossy Accents were used on the berries and the letter 'B' to give lots of shine and dimension.

HERE IS A LINK to the Sweet 'N Sassy online store for more Christmas stamps, dies, etc.

I hope I inspired you to make some Christmas cards, especially ones that are personal and unique for your family.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

just for you.

Hello! It's Monika here today with a flowery card. I've been under the weather for the last couple of days, so I needed a quick and easy card for my post... so I looked into my scrap pile and I found some flowers already colored and cut from a previous project. That's what I am talking about!
The images are from Scribble Flowers clear stamp set. They were stamped on water color paper, then colored and spritzed with distress inks.
I sponged the background with green distress ink. It's the perfect backdrop for the bold flowers. Added a touch of gold, black and white... and my card was done! A gold button with black thread completed the pretty look...
I am going to leave you with some Scribble Flowers stamp set eye candy:

Christmas Tags

It is still warm, but fall is definitely peeking in and if I don't get started with Christmas projects now, the next thing you know, it will be here and I won't have time....SOOOO today's project, using one of the adorable new sets called Christmas Blocks Clear Stamp Set, is some fun Christmas tags. I had this huge box of tags in my stash (I'm not sure how long I've had them but I'm I thought I NEEDED them at the time and this is the first time I have used them, but they were perfect so I am glad I had them :).

Some ink smooshing, embossed images, and colored pencils, and voila! I hope this inspires you. It is fun and easy to create as many as you need in a sitting. I did the inking on a bunch of them, then the stamping and embossing then brought out the colored pencils, and finally I added the twine and I had a handful ready to go! Is it crazy that now I just want to get a Christmas present to wrap??

Here is a close up of the cute Santa!

Now it is your turn! I can't wait to see what you do!

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Blocks

Good morning!
Today I am sharing two cards using the new Christmas Blocks stamp set released this week on the Sweet 'n Sassy website.  When it comes to making Christmas cards, I am usually making multiples so I need to make them quick & easy!  One great way to make CAS cards is to start with an assorted box of pre-printed card bases.  Just add your stamps and embellishments!
For the first card, I stamped and colored the Santa face, popped him up with foam tape, and stamped the sentiment.  Some Stickles and Wink of Stella add a bit of sparkle to complete the cards.

The second card had a snowman pre-printed on the front.  I simply die cut a speech bubble window and stamped the sentiment on the inside to peek through.

When opened, you see a second sentiment stamped beneath the first one. I also added the little present image in the corner and kept the coloring minimal.  Some Stickles added to the card front finished this one as well.

Have a great day!

Stamped & Stenciled One Layer Cards with Mason Jar Bouquet

It's Gracie from Graciellie Design with a new cardmaking idea to share. I'm saying good-bye to Summer with a set of colorful stamped and stenciled cards. I had lots of fun making these so I'm happy to be sharing them with you today!

I started out by picking my color palette. I wanted to go for a bright and unique color combo and that is how my first card came to life in yellow and green. I stenciled the backgrounds with a Distressed Details stencil using mostly ink. I did stencil a few patterns with heavy body acrylic paint in yellow and silver metallic.

I stamped and colored the flowers with Spectrum Noir markers and then added a stamped banner with the sentiment. This is a one layered card. I didn't add card panels at all and that is why I love these designs so much. If you use a nice cardstock you are able to add lots of ink and paint layers, but of course make sure to use as little medum as possible.

My second card came about as a consequence of the first one. I thought I should make another card using also yellow and so I combined it with hot pink. I tried to follow the same stencil design I had added to the first one, which is not precisely simple, but I was able to achieve the same look with a similiar stenciling.

Making these cards lifted my spirit on a very hard day, so I hope I they can also cheer you up and inspire you to create something pretty today! Until next time.

Art Journal Layout - God Writes the Gospel

Hello friends! Kim here with you today to share an art journal layout I created using the Fantastic Flowers stamp set. This beautiful set features three large flower stamps along with a variety of leaf designs, and the generous size of these images make them perfect for art journaling. I created a video to walk you through the steps I took to create this spread. It all started with two pages that I had basically ruined with a background. A little tissue paper, some paint, and this set covered up the mistakes and created a fun design. I hope you enjoy today's project! Happy crafting!

Thoughts of You

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here and today I am sharing a quick Clean and Simple (CAS) card created with the Nature Silhouettes, Nature Silhouettes 2 and Long Stem Silhouettes Clear Stamp Sets (all designed by Korin Sutherland).

I love the different scenes that you can create with all three of these stamp sets as well as the font on the sentiments in Long Stem Silhouettes

To create this card, use various distress oxide inks for the background.  Stamp the pads onto a silicone sheet, spritz with water and press a piece of white cardstock.  Lift up and dry with a heat tool, repeat the process until the background is finished (I used three different colors for this panel- twisted citron, worn lipstick and peacock feathers).

After layering the images from Nature Silhouettes and Nature Silhouettes 2 images onto the background with versafine onyx black ink, trim and layer onto black cardstock, add to a white card panel and stamp the sentiment from Long Stem Silhouettes using versafine onyx black ink.

Heat emboss the bird image with clear embossing powder, fussy-cut and adhere with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Thanks for taking the time to visit us today and I hope I have inspired you to create something this week- hugs and God Bless, sweet friends!

All About You

Hello sweet friends....happy Saturday!  Back in July, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps released a stamp set celebrating YOU!  This set is soooo versatile it can be used alone or can be combined with almost any other stamp set to create a card for any occasion.  Today I'm sharing just two ways to use

Distress Oxide Inks were used with the Lots-a-Spots stamp set to create a background for the Butterfly Flourish.  A second panel was also made using the same Oxide Ink colors.  Black acrylic splatters were flicked onto both panels.  A decorative square die was used to cut vellum which was then cut diagonally for the corners.  The word "you" from All About You was white embossed, fussy cut, and popped onto the card front with foam tape.  The butterflies from the Butterfly Flourish were stamped again and fussy cut to add to the card.  The word "thank" from the All About You set was stamped and highlighted with a white paint pen.

Typewriter Text Background was stamped on one panel, Floral Pattern Background (currently out of stock) was inked with Oxide Inks and stamped on a second panel, and a Pretty Potted Flower was stamped and colored with Copics on a third.  The three panels were cut into three sections and stitched together to form the card front.  The sentiment from the All About You set was stamped and a Majestic Monarch added.  The top of the flower was stamped a second time, fussy cut, popped onto the card, and a sparkly gem added to the center.

These stamp sets are available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.

THANK YOU for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful weekend!
