Thank You Card for Your Serviceman

Happy Saturday Stampers! This is Michelle from East Bay Stamp Chick with another card share. Today's card is a thank you card for someone in the military. We are getting close to the 4th of July, which makes me think about all the freedoms we enjoy.

Let me show you the card.

I had a lot of fun with stencils to make the background on this card. I used 4 stencils, 4 stamp sets and 2 die sets. Wow right?! So let me tell you what I did.

This is an A2 size card. I cut a white panel of cardstock. I started with the Grunge Dot Stencil. I stenciled it twice in a light grey ink and then moved it slightly and used a darker grey ink. On top of that I used the Mixed Up stencil in an olive green ink. Both of these stencils fully covered the card panel. Then I used the Chicken Wire stencil with a dark brown ink in spots only. On top of that I layered the Script Stencil in black ink in spots only. The result is a camo looking background. Here's a closer look. Finally I did brush a little of a light brown ink over the top of everything, so the background would not be so white.

You can see the background a little better in this photo.

Now for the stamping and die cuts. I heat embossed in white on blue cardstock the stars from the Texture Tiles 10 stamp set. Then I used the Stars Dies to cut out several stars. I then heat embossed in white some stripes from the Background Builder Stripes set. I cut out hearts using the Hearts Die set. I glues some down and used foam tape on some to make a unique looking flag toward the top of my panel. I stamped the combat boots from The Lord's Battle stamp set. I colored them in with alcohol markers and used foam to pop them up on the card. The sentiment is from the God Bless America stamp set. I used foam to pop it up as well. Both the boots and the sentiment were fussy cut. I added a few gold sequins to 2 corners to complete the card.

Even with all the stencils it came together pretty quick. Here's a look at all the items I used.

Here are the stencils.

Here are the stamp sets and dies.

Thank you for visiting with me today and I hope you have time to get crafty this weekend!
