Hello Sweet Friends! Sheri here today with a Christmas card featuring the Holly Christmas stamp set from the September 2022 Christmas Release! This set does have a coordinating die set available! You can find the September 2022 Fall and Christmas Release HERE.
For my card I wanted to create an embossed background panel with a mix of the beautiful Holly images in the set for an elegant design. This type of card can easily be mass produced for the holidays.
White A2 Top Fold Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2")
Gold Mat: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
Cranberry Panel: 3 3/4" x 5"
Vellum Sentiment Strip: 5" x 1 3/4"
Steps to Create Card:
- Create a White A2 Top Fold Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2")
- Cut Gold Mat: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8". For my sample I wanted the Gold Mat to perfectly match my embossed panel, so I took a piece of white card stock measuring 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and ran my embossing pad (VersaMark) around the edges and embossed with the same embossing powder that I will be using on the main panel.
- Take burgundy card stock and randomly stamp the holly stamps to cover the panel. I used a Misti (stamp positioner). You can stamp all the images and embossed at the end but I recommend adding the powder after you stamp each image. This allows you to see the placement and prevent the ink from drying. You will need to work quickly.
- Add a little ink blending to your stamped panel. I used a combination of Cranberry and Charcoal Brown ink. I was heavy handed with the cranberry but was very light handed with the Charcoal Brown ink and only added to the outer edges.
- Take Strip of Vellum 5" x 1 3/4" and stamp and emboss the sentiment. I used the same gold embossing powder. Next attach the strip of vellum to the panel by wrapping it around and securing it from the back.
- Assemble card. Foam tape is optional, I popped up the bottom panel for some dimension.
- For embellishment I added a few gold solid confetti sequins.
Happy Stamping!!
