His Mercies....

Morning everyone!  My apologizes for the delay in posting this morning...I've been busy getting ready for this month's release!!  Exciting new stuff coming, can't wait to share!  And since releases have been on my mind I thought I'd share one of my cards from last month's release, showcasing some of my favorite Sweet 'n Sassy stamps...silhouettes!

It's no secret that I love silhousette stamps...there are just so much you can do with them and nothing makes me happier than getting inky, making a background, and then stamping a beautiful image on top to create a card or any other paper project!

To create this background, I used a variety of Distress Inks (Distress Inks are perfect for creating backgrounds due to their excellent blending quality) and a blending tool.  I pick up many of these background techniques from Michelle Zindorf.  However, Michelle uses a brayer and for the life of me, I cannot get the same look with a brayer....so blending tool it is!

Once the background is created (just use the same colors on the top and bottom portions of the card to create the reflection), I added some grass and stamped the tree image, from the Landscrape Silhouettes set, across the card, right at the line that separates the sky from the reflection.  To create the reflection I used a stamp-a-ma-gig (those stamp positioners).  Stamp the image on the slick side of the stamp positioner and then gently place it on your paper...rub your fingers over the plastic and once you pick up the positioner...perfect reflection!  I then used a white gel pen to add little waves and my sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today's card...be sure to check out all of Sweet 'n Sassy's silhouette stamps (Korin has a boatload of them and I love each and every one!)

Korin: I am in awe of all your cards you've been making with the silhouette stamps. This one would look amazing in a frame on a desk. Stunning! Can't wait for the release tonight.

I thought this card was gorgeous during last month's release, Kim, and I still do...thanks for sharing your technique! I'm going to try transferring the reflection with the stamp positioner!
