Believe in Miracles

Hi, Harriet here.  I created this card for several challenges: HYCCT1111 (Taylor's challenge on SCS "To Fight Like a Girl" -  use girlie embellishments), Flutter By Wednesday which is to use scraps (and include a butterfly, fairy or an angel) and I used the Card Patterns#136 for my layout.   I used my favorite Sweet 'N Sassy stamp set on this card - Everyday Miracles.
I thought the Cheery Lynn Fancy Flourish die and the sparkly pink ribbon was "girlie" and I used a lot of pink!  The butterfly was stamped on Memory Box patterned paper and cut out and popped up.
This card will be going to MD Anderson Cancer Center along with my other cards from the SCS Hope You Can Cling To challenges.  My personal challenge is to do every challenge this month.  Will you be joining me?

Rhubarb's Christmas

Hi, happy Wednesday! It's Harriet here and it is my day to share here.  I just received my Rhubarb's Christmas card kit, the September Kit of the Month from Sweet 'N Sassy and I was excited to use it. I have never purchased a card kit before but besides loving the Rhubarb stamps, I really liked the Bo Bunny paper that was included.  Buttons, ribbon and twine were also included in the kit. 
I stamped Rhubarb with Memento ink and colored him with Copic markers.  I paper pieced the ribbon and cut him out with an oval Nestability.  The sentiment is also from this set.  I did my own thing for the sketch but the kit does include five samples that you can make with the kit supplies and then there is still more paper and embellishments for even more cards!

Patriotic Cocoa

Hi, Harriet here.  I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and for those of you in the USA, I hope you are enjoying the long weekend.  I wanted to use Patriotic Cocoa for today's post to say thank you to those who are serving our country so that we can enjoy our freedom.  I'm sure our armed forces are not getting a long weekend to celebrate Labor Day as we are here at home!
This is my take on the Card patterns sketch 130 minus a layer.  The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils. 

Faux Tile Wildflowers

Good morning and happy weekend everyone!  It has been such an exciting week for SNSS with the SCS company member opening, the announcement of Dina Kowal as our new stamp designer and the introduction of dies to the SNSS line of products!! What a fun time I had at our release party this week and it was equally as fun getting ready for it!  I think the SNSS team needs this weekend to recover from all of the excitement!
Today I have a card using one of my favorite SNSS stamps, Wildflowers.  This is becoming my go to set when I need flower silhouettes.  This is also the first time I have done the faux tile technique.  I got the inspiration for this card from Taylor's Inspiration challenge here on SCS.  I also used last week's Sweet Stop sketch for my layout.
I hope you take some time to play in the many challenges offered by the SNSS DT this weekend!

Tea With a Friend

Happy Friday everyone - it's Harriet here.  Today I am showcasing one of my favorite Cocoa images - Tea Time Cocoa.  I colored Cocoa with Copic Markers and I paper pieced the tea cup and saucer.  I love these Basic Grey Lemonade papers - they just look like they go with a vintage tea set.  I hope you are able to take some time and have tea (maybe iced tea!) with a friend this weekend!

Happy 4th of July!!

Happy Monday everyone!  Harriet here with a fun Cocoa card!  I decided to create a card combining two Sweet 'N Sassy challenges:  The sketch challenge - SSS113 on the Sweet Stop Sketch Blog and the challenge hosted by Jessica - Just For Fun Challenge on the Sweet 'N Sassy Connection.  The J4F1 challenge from last week was to use two buttons.  There is a new J4F challenge posted each Sunday - this week's challenge is to use polka dots - check it out!
I stamped Patriotic Cocoa with Memento ink on white card stock, cut the image out and colored Cocoa in with Copics (hard to see in this photo).  I colored the flag with watercolor pencils and an aquabrush and then sponged it with Tea Dye ink to give it that "Americana" feel like the patterned paper has.  I wound twine around the circle, stamped the sentiment and attached Cocoa with dimensionals.  I finished the card off with the two buttons for the J4F challenge.

It's Your Birthday!

Well, did the new Sweet 'N Sassy release get you in the mood for summer??  It would be nice if we at least had some Spring weather here in Northern California!  I guess I'll have to settle for these beach scenes for a while longer!  I stamped the main image from Ocean Paradise with Versafine Onyx Black on white cardstock.  I placed a Post-It note at the horizon, masking the chair and beach.  I sponged on Adirondack Aqua and Sailboat Blue inks.  I then water colored the ocean with an aquabrush and the Sailboat Blue ink.  The sand was created by rubbing a Memento Sahara Sand dew drop ink pad directly onto the paper.  The umbrella is paper pieced with Echo Park Summer Days patterned paper.

May Your Weeds Be Wildflowers

Hi everyone - this is my first post here for the Sweet 'N Sassy blog and I'm so excited to be a part of the Design Divas!  My card today uses this week's sketch from The Sweet Stop Challenge blog - SSS107.  I rotated it to fit my image.  I used the Wildflowers set from this May's release.  I used the marker watercolor technique that Korin featured in her video.  I used markers to color on the stamp, spritzed it with water then stamped onto the white card stock.  I love the way it looks!
