March guest designers and new Design Team Members

Today, we are welcoming 2 new members to the design team as well as our 2 March Guest Designers.

First however we need to say farewell to our 2 wonderful February designers- Claudine Poch and Denise Modin. These ladies have done an awesome job this past month creating beautiful cards with our designs. Thank you so much for inspiring us ladies!

The two talented ladies who will be joining us as guest designers for the month of March are Dina Kowal and Katie Skiff. You can read more about each of them below.

Dina Kowal- Hi! I’m Dina Kowal... you might know me as “dini” or “Mama Dini” from other stamping spaces on the internet. My family and I serve cross-culturally in S.E. Asia. Stamping is my 'escape,' and I love winding down after a long day with my watercolors, pencils, stamps, and cardstock all in reach. I blog over at Mama Dini's Stamperia, where you can see my other design team work and stamp designs. I love doing one-of-a-kind design work and am so tickled to be working with SNSS images this month!

Katie Skiff- My name is Katie Skiff, and I've been papercrafting for almost 11 years now. I started out with scrapbooking and quickly found stamping. In the past few years, my passion has been stamping and card making. I love being able to share my creations on my blog, and I also sell cards locally at a coffee shop. I am a SAHM to three kids, which provides me plenty of time to PLAY in my craft room. I am also a child of God, and so happy to have been asked to be part of this fabulous team for the month of March.

I am excited to announce that 2 super sweet and talented ladies, Taylor Usry and Lorie Ames, will be joining the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps team for at least the next 3 months. We are thrilled to welcome back Lorie and looking forward to getting to know Taylor. Below is a little more information about both of them.

Taylor Usry- Hello! My name is Taylor Usry, and I live with my husband and two kids in southern Virginia. I’ve been an avid crafter my whole life, but I’ve only been obsessed with papercrafting for the last 7 years or so. I cannot remember a time when I didn’t have a crayon, marker, glue stick, ribbon, or something crafty in my hands! I could wander amongst the craft aisles all day every day, and be quite happy. I’m often asked if I have a particular style – I’d say it’s eclectic. There really isn’t much I don’t like, or anything I won’t try. I love every aspect of the creative world. I’m honored to currently be part of several talented design teams, and am also proud to be the Executive Administrator for Christian Paper Crafts. I am so fortunate to be joining the team here at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps!

Lorie Ames
- Hello! My name is Lorie. I have been blessed to be married to the most wonderful man, Todd, for the last 10 years. Between the two of us we have four children, three boys and one girl, ranging in age from 23-12. I was introduced to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps about three years ago. I was honored to be on the design team for a term a couple of years ago, too and am SO thrilled to be back! I love that SNSS is honoring to our Lord and that I never have to worry about something that might be on the store website or blogs when linking up to them. Well, that and the images are all so cute! May God bless you as you go about your day today!

Please join me in welcoming Dina, Katie, Taylor, and Lorie to the team! I know they are going to blow us all away with their artwork and I look forward to seeing what they will create for us.

New Creature

I want to show you a couple similar cards that I made with one of our February stamp sets that was released on the 1st. It is called New Creature and it has 2 beautiful butterfly images and some love scriptures in it as well.

I decided to go with a clean and simple look for my cards. I colored the butterfly with copics, cut it out, and accented with stickles. I sponged around the sentiment and paper pierced a frame around it as well. Add some ribbon at the top and done.

This set is available as a digi set as well.

As always, thank you for taking the time out of your day to visit and have a blessed day.

Customer spotlight Sunday

Happy Lord's day Sunday! Today Danni Bindel brings us a very sweet Bethany Bunny card. This card reminds of spring with the butterfly, flowers and the cheerful colors she used. Danni used the Bethany Sending Hugs digi for her card. This cutie will also be available as a clear stamp set on Tuesday March 1.

Danni, thank you for letting us share your beautiful Bethany card today!

Spring Bunny

When I first saw this "Bethany Bunny" image by Sweet n Sassy Stamps, I knew I wanted to make a clean and simple card with it.  For this card, I printed the image, colored it with Copics, then added a stamped sentiment by Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  I completed this clean and simple card by adding gingham ribbon and a Easter basket charm.  Thanks for looking-Claudine.

Friends are Flowers

Happy Friday bloggers! Raise your hand if you're ready for the weekend!! I know I am and I'm looking forward to a having a little crafting time. If you have some extra time to create this weekend, why not start by making cards that feature Sweet 'n Sassy digi images! This little sweet bunny, named Bethany, is currently available for download. And...I'll let you in on a little secret...on March 1st, you just might be able to have Bethany as part of a stamp set. But don't let anyone know that I told you, it will be our little secret. **wink**

And how about that darling paper peeking out from the behind Bethany? Did you know that SNSS is now offering Echo Park paper pads! Yippee! The paper featured on today's card is from the Echo Park, For the Record line. I used four small pieces from the line to create my background.

Oh, and I almost forgot! I watercolored my image on this card and I've forgotten just how much I enjoy watercoloring. It's quick and easy and I love the finished look, perfect for a "please let Spring come soon" card!

Enjoy today's card and your weekend!

God's mercies are...

Good Morning!

I love making circle cards. The shape just adds something special to the card... don't you think? I decided to use one of the new clear stamp sets, New Creature. Lovely scriptures and butterfly images.

When I started stamping 10+ years ago, heat embossing was very popular... then it kind of got boring... couple of months ago, I picked up my embossing tools again, and ever since I really enjoy using that technique. For my card, I embossed the butterfly image on vellum with white embossing powder and carefully cut it out...

Behind the scripture, I stamped the flower image from Serene Silhouettes clear stamp set. The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS96.

Thanks for visiting!

Wishing you many Blessings

Hello Everyone!  I hope you're all doing well.  I am getting over a cold and now seasonal allergies are setting in.  Winter, as I hear it, is over here in Florida.  I guess I still have more acclimating to do.  I am hoping this sweet little card in it's very Spring-y colors will help me towards that acclimation and maybe bring some warmth to your neck of the woods.

I found this really great card on the Scor-Pal project site and just had to give it a try.  This is called a half-window card and was really easy to do.  I actually did this on the first try, which I think was dumb-luck.  Haha!

Recently, Korin introduced us to a sweet little bunny named Bethany.  Here's one of them called Bethany Picking Flowers - she's part of an absolutely adorable collection that is perfect for Spring and Easter greetings.

So as I said, this is a half window card and it was super easy to do.  All you need is a scoring tool, I have a Scor Pal and a circle cutting system, I used Coluzzle.  You score the card stock in half for a standard sized card and then score again the front panel in half.  Now I didn't score the entire front panel.  I only scored a little at the top and a little at the bottom.  Placed my Coluzzle template so that it was between the score marks and only cut the circle on the right side of the template.  Then finished the card.

Open it and reveal a message that you stamp behind the focal image.  Easy!  The sentiment is from Benjamin Bunny stamp set.  Pretty spring colors and a sweet sentiment is just what any friend would love to receive.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Don't forget the great sale going on in the SNSS store.  Have a super day!

Many Hugs & Blessings,
Melissa

Pamper Me Cookie

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends.  Welcome back to check out another great Sweet 'n Sassy  image.  Today, I've used the very cute Pamper Me Cookie which is a new February release!

Can you say r-e-d!!  Lots of it here, but it's one of Cookie's favorite colors!   Doesn't she look like she's quite ready to get all prettied up?  haha!  I used the latest The Sweet Stop sketch.  I added a couple of red flowers with button centers, some baubles from Robin's Nest and of course, glitter.  I also toned down all the white paper because the DP was so vintagey looking.  Thanks for stopping in today!  Hope you'll come back tomorrow as there is fun here every day.

Bethany Sends Her Love

Isn't Bethany adorable?
I just love this new image by Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.
I colored her with copics and airbrushed the background to give the appearance of clouds. DP is Memory Box Pixie. I added a ribbon and flower for embellies.

Thanks for stopping by and check out all the new goodies at Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.

Customer spotlight Sunday

I am a bit late in posting our customer spotlight today as I have been sick. Anyway, I am pleased to feature Jen Nevil today. I really like this adorable Cocoa birthday card she made. The patterned paper coordinates so well with the image and I love the party hat paper pieced. This cutie is from the Cocoa Kind of Birthday set and it is also available as a digi called Party Hat Cocoa.

Thank you to Jen for sharing her artwork with us! I hope you all have a blessed Lord's day Sunday.

In His Time

I can't believe that it is already my third week as a guest designer for Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  For today's card, I used the newly-released "New Creature" stamp set.  I used Wild Wasabi ink from Stampin Up to stamp the butterflies onto the coordinating card stock.  I cut out a Spellbinders pendant and stamped the sentiment in the center.  I completed the card by adding rhinestones, ribbon and a layered butterfly made with Martha Stewart punches.  I'll be back next Saturday with my final card as guest designer.-Claudine

Let it Rain

Hello everyone....Julie here with a Let it Rain card today.
What beautiful image, don't ya think?

I think her skirt just screams to be colored with Copics, don't you?
I'm trying to "master" my Copic skills.
I get so frustrated when I'm coloring, if things don't turn out
exactly the way I want them.
I need to learn to be patient and practice practice practice.

I love that polka dot umbrella!

Easter Blessings

Spring is in the air! Can you feel it? Almost time for Easter! Okay, not yet but one of Sweet 'n Sassy newest sets released this month is perfect for Easter and it's never too early to start Easter cards.

I used He Lives, colored with copics and cut it all apart. Layered all the pieces so I would have a 3-D image. Here is a side view to see the layering:

Sweet Bethany Bunny

Happy Tuesday all you sweet and sassy stampers.  I hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day.  Today I've popped in to share an adorable digital stamp called Bethany Bunny.  Isn't she just so sweet??

You may have already seen that a couple new Bethany Bunny images were included in Sweet and Sassy Stamps' latest release.  I used this week's sketch from The Sweet Stop .  I jiggled it up a bit, but that's where my layout came from.  I colored this in copics and used a few prismacolor pencils and OMS for more detail.  I added a bit of diamond stickles to the flowers and little butterfly.

Hope you enjoy!!  Have a wonderful day!
Denise

For my card today I used the adorable Woof you set. I added some spots to my puppy and softly sponged around her in pink to match the scarf and the paper I used. I used my white gel pen to add dots to the scarf. I used a older sketch from The Sweet Stop.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

She did a lovely job coloring the butterfly and the papers she chose are perfect. This set just reminds me of spring and I certainly am looking forward to that. Jane also gave the butterfly dimension and that really adds to the beauty of her card.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful card with us today Jane!

Beautiful Friend

For this week's card, I used the recently-released "New Creature" stamp set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps. This set includes two butterflies and several sentiments. I chose to use one of the sentiments and butterflies for my card. I stamped the butterflies in black then colored them with Copic markers. I made a long card and mounted the butterflies and sentiment on circles cut with Nestabilities dies. The papers used are Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry by Stampin Up and patterned paper by My Mind's Eye. I completed the card by adding a strip of coordinating Crushed Curry ribbon. Head over to the Sweet n Sassy store to see this stamp set, as well as the other newly-released sets. See you again next Saturday-Claudine.

Jacob Loves Reading

So a few weeks ago Korin sent the DT team a little girl digi stamp, Molly Loves Reading, and I responded that I loved it but...did she have any plans to create a little boy reading image 'cause this Mama lives with two sweet little boys. Not 24 hours later and this darling image arrived in my email in box! How wonderful is that and how wonderful that Korin created an image that reminded me so much of my darling oldest son. Swoon...

The name of this image is Jacob Loves Reading and even though the image is named Jacob I made sure, using my Copic markers, to make him look like a Carter. :-) I paired the image with little boy paper from My Minds Eye; this line is actually called Robots (it includes darling paper covered in robots!) The chipboard gear, located in the upper left hand side of the card, was included with the paper kit. The sentiment is also from Sweet 'n Sassy, from the Gifts from Turtle stamp set.

Enjoy!

What a Doll!!

Good morning folks!!  I'm Denise and this is my first post as Guest Designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!!  I'll be posting every Tuesday for the remainder of February.  And I must say I'm just thrilled to be here!!

Today I'm sharing one of their sweet digital sets called You're a Doll.  When I saw this little gal, I just had to have her!!

See what I mean??  I colored her up with copics and glittered up the white parts of her dress (love glitter).  I added a couple rows of hearts using MS edge punch, some buttons and one of the set's sentiments.  It comes with three including this one.  Anyone who has a little girl, or a big one for that matter, would find this a great image to make for them.

Thanks for stopping in today.  I hope you have some time to go browse around in the Sweet 'n Sassy store.  I think you'll have a great time!!  : )  See ya next week.  Denise

God made you.....

Good Morning!

Today I have a card I made using One of a Kind clear stamp set. I fell in love with these birds the first time I saw them.... and the greetings are just perfect!

I decided to cut out my main image. I love cutting and I think it makes such a big difference when you can pop up your main image.

I stamped the image and cut it out with a circle Nestie die... then I stamped another image on a piece of scrap paper, and cut it out... As you can see, I did not cut out the little vines, those are on the circle background. The image is colored with Copic Markes. To add a bit of sparkle to my image, I used Stickles. I love the aged look, so I sponged then distressed the edges... I also added faux stitching... it is very easy and a great technique if you don't have a sewing machine (or it's out of commission like mine). The little white flower is hand crocheted.
Thanks for visiting!

Customer Sunday Spotlight

Happy Sunday to you all! Today we are featuring Carolyn (stampencameper on CPC) as our customer spotlight. She used Cocoa's Heart digi stamp for her card today. I love how she paper pieced behind Cocoa and used embossing powder on one of the hearts of the dp for some texture. Carolyn also made a second card with the same image and I wanted to show you this one also.

Isn't is amazing how different both of these cards are even though they are the same image? I love how she enlarged Cocoa so he covered just about the whole card front, one of the advantages of using digis- they can be adjusted to whatever size you like.

Thank you Carolyn for allowing us to share your artwork today!

Spring is Coming!

Today is my first post as one of the February Guest Designers for Sweet n Sassy Stamps. I am excited to be here and share my creations with you this month! I will be posting a card/project each Saturday in February.
For this card, I used the newly-released "Benjamin Bunny" stamp set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps. I thought it would be fun to paper piece Benjamin. To do this, I used three different coordinating papers. I decided not to include the pot and flower that is a part of the Benjamin stamp. I like the effect that the paper-piecing achieved. In addition to Spring cards, I think Benjamin would also be cute on baby cards. I made a "quilted" background by punching squares from patterned papers and mounting them onto a piece of card stock. The papers used are So Saffron, Certain Celery, and Delicate Dots DSP by Stampin Up. I placed Benjamin on the frame made from Nestabilities dies then stamped the coordinating sentiment. I completed the card by adding pre-made flowers, ribbon, and a bunny charm.

Head over the Sweet n Sassy store to see the new "Benjamin Bunny" stamp set, as well as, other new stamp releases. See you again next Saturday- Claudine.

God made you special.....

...and He loves you very much. Are those words familiar to you? My kids were huge Veggie Tales fans and even now that they've out grown the sweet singing/acting vegetables, they will still watch them once in awhile or sing a silly song. Well, with the great line up of new releases this month, the sentiment (used on my card) from One of a Kind reminded me of Bob's wise words.

God did make you for a special purpose and I truly believe that in the way we treat each other, love our families and worship Him is a glimpse of the person He is molding you to be. Our real potential will never fully be developed until we are in Heaven with Him, but I think that here on earth we certainly should be practicing.

You can practice by just saying a little prayer for a friend, or helping a child see the awe of Creation or just being kind enough to create a card for someone special. So go ahead... practice!

Many hugs & blessings,
Melissa
