Meet Our June Guest Designer!

It's the end of May....the weather is definitely warming up, and we're ready to kick off summer! Tomorrow our Sweet Peeks for our fabulous June clear stamp release will get underway; before we do that we wanted to introduce our wonderful June guest designer!

Meet Brenda Weaver:

Hi!  My name is Brenda Weaver.  I'm a SAHM to three kids (two boys and a girl) ages 13, 10 and 7.  I've been a paper crafter for about 12 years now and love paper crafting of all kinds, from card making to scrapbooking to decor items and fun party decorations and everything in between.  When I'm not paper crafting or taking care of my family, you can find me browsing the aisles of my local thrift shop or flea markets for fun finds to incorporate into my home or even my crafting.  I also love to read, cook, bake and taking photos.  I've been so blessed to have been able to serve on several design teams and have had my work published in several publications and I'm so thrilled to be a guest of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps this month.  I love meeting people who share my love of paper and stamps, so stop by my blog, Sweet Paper Treats, and say hello!

We can't wait to see your amazing work this month, Brenda!

Owl Be There

Hello!  Jennie here again with my last Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps guest design spot of the month.  The month has flown and I have greatly enjoyed working with Korin and her fabulous stamps.  I had to finish off the month using this adorable set Owl Be There which was released back in April.  My favorite technique is paper piecing and this owl image is just adorable paper pieced!!!

Thank you Korin, Taylor and the rest of the SNSS DT!  It has been a wonderful month and so inspired by your designs.  Will certainly be stalking to see the sneak peeks which (I heard) start tomorrow for the June release.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Happy Birthday...

Hello! Happy Memorial Day! Hope you are enjoying your day with your loved ones.
Monika here today with a masculine birthday card, using Timeless Classic clear stamp set. This fabulous set, with 11 images, has everything that you'd need to make masculine projects for nearly every occasions.

This color combination (red, light blue and a touch of dark blue) is a really great one for patriotic cards too, and you can see that it works great for guys.
I decided to do some heat embossing. It gives great textures to any projects.

My background is a book page. I stamped the gears with VersaMark, embossed them with White embossing powder, then I sponged and spritzed some ink on top to make the white pop.

I also did some tearing and distressing. I tucked a piece of Tim Holtz Film Strip behind the tears. I also attached a piece to the banner die-cut piece (Pennants & More die set) with Baker's Twine.
The star and circle dies are from Spellbinders.
In the bottom right corner, I stamped "first class friends" from Vintage Postcard clear stamp set.
This extra touch have become a favorite of mine lately.

Hope I inspired you to make something today!

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

Customer Spotlight Sunday

A joyful Sunday to you!  AND
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

We are back with another Customer Spotlight Sunday and I have another wonderful customer to share with you.  Today in our spotlight is, Jennifer Morley aka jenn47 on SCS.  She doesn't have a personal blog yet but she has a SCS gallery and that's where we found her!

What I have to share first are a couple of her cards made with Patriotic Cocoa!  The great thing about this image is that you can purchase it in STAMP or in DIGI form!  These are so perfect for this Memorial Day weekend, for the 4th of July, and any military type cards you may make.

I have shown you a few cards with the same image because it shows the versatility of that one image.  I love all the patriotic colored papers Jennifer chose and her embellishments for each card is perfect.

Okay, one last card to share by Jennifer.  I love the fun summer color combo she has with Cocoa in the card below! For this card she used Berry Sweet Cocoa and it too comes in STAMP or DIGI form.

Thanks so much for sharing such fabulous creations with us! You never know when we'll spot your card in our gallery or on one of our challenge blog linky collections, so be sure to keep those amazing uploads coming (we are always on the lookout in ourSplitcoaststampers galleryPaper Craft Planet, and the linky collections for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge and the Digi Challenges)!

Butterfly Blessings

Hi, it's Bridget here today and I'd like to highlight a SNSS set called Blessings and Thanks
with a number of sentiments which are perfect for thank you cards or for simply sending your wishes and prayers for God's blessing as I did here on my butterfly card.
I love the beautiful font as well as the beautiful meaning behind these sentiments.
I glued some tin foil onto cardstock before cutting the butterfly for a quick, inexpensive substitute for metallic paper or cardstock.  While I was in the kitchen I also reached for the Saran Wrap or cling film as we call it here in the U.K. and Ireland - by using a layer of it between the die and the cardstock, the die-cut butterfly pops right out of the die, which is so important with intricate dies like this one, or for example, doily dies!  I know some people like to use wax paper for the same reason - there's nothing worse than having die-cuts stick in the die, ripping or tearing in the effort to remove them.
This was made using a sketch for the Sketch Challenge which Korin gave us over at Splitcoaststampers a few weeks ago and it's such a versatile layout, perfect whether the focus of your card is an image or a sentiment.
I used pearls of various sizes and silver cord to finish.
I know this is a special weekend for all of you in the U.S. as you celebrate Memorial Day - wishing you all a very happy and safe holiday!
Hugs, Bridget

Poppies

I attended a stamp convention this last weekend and thought I'd try a couple of the techniques that I learned. I inked the poppy image with Marvy pens, stamped, and then used a watercolor brush to spread the color through the leaves, added orange Tombow marker to the flower centers and spread the color on the petals with the wet brush. The second technique was to color the embossed background with sponge daubers and pigment ink.
Stamps: Sweet n Sassy Stamps - Poppies & Greetings
Accessories: Sweet n Sassy Stamps scalloped border die, Cheery Lynn doily die, embossing folder, half pearls, Tombow and Marvy Markers, water brush, pigment ink, sponge daubers.

Cheers!!

A Little Inspiration

Good morning Sweet 'n Sassy Friends!  I have two cards to share with you today that were made with the help of "A Little Inspiration."  Sometimes my creativity needs a jump start...how about you?   When that happens, there are several places I go for a little inspiration!  This past Saturday, Korin suggested RedEnvelope for the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. There I found a giraffe platter that inspired my Embossed Silhouettes card.

The beautiful silhouette image from the new Nature Silhouettes clear stamp set was stamped with VersaMark ink and clear embossed.  The stripes were masked, then sponged with distress inks.  The frame was made by cutting ovals out of the Select White and Blueberry Sky panels.  The white panel was then dry embossed with a Sizzix folder and a canvass impression plate after the sentiment from the Season of Change set was stamped at the bottom.  Piercing, pearls, and a bow were added.

My second card was inspired by the "Hump Day" #41 Challenge on the SNSS Forum over at Splitcoaststampers. I happen to be hosting the challenge today which is a photo from a favorite inspiration spot, A Creative Mint.

The rosettes were made to represent the cupcake papers in the photo.  The stars, the rhinestones, and the pop of red were also inspired by the photo!  The Seeing Spots clear stamp set, the Star Die Set, Vintage Postcard, and the Pennants and More Die Sets were used to make the elements on top of the rosettes.  I hope you'll have a chance to check out the "Hump Day" Challenge and play along, especially if your creativity needs a little jump start!

Thanks for stopping by and have an inspiring week!

Hugs to You!

Happy Father's Day

Hello and this is Jennie back with a couple of cards to share using the stamp set Timeless Classic.  For this first card, I stamped the image on patterned paper, added some Thickers letters, and distressing the panel which seemed to work for this masculine design.

I have one more card to share today that is very CAS.  I used Memento Potter's Clay and London Fog ink and stamped the gears from Timeless Classic randomly along the top half.  The sentiment was double stamped with the same inks.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

{You & Me}

 Good morning!

Jessica here with some cards I recently made with the adorable You & Me stamp set!  This is such a fun stamp set with lots of fun 'punny' images and sentiments to use to make quick cards for friends and family.  I'm sharing these three cards that I whipped up for my husband and 2 kids.

As you cam see, minimal layers and embellishments are needed because of how adorable this stamp set is!  Gotta love that!

Before you go, I wanted to share this card that I made that can be found in the new Exquisite Embellishments book...

I used the beautiful Peace of God stamp set for this one.  I have one more SNSS card in this book using our sweet Cocoa Mouse too!

Have a wonderful day!  And, if you haven't picked up this You & Me stamp set yet - what are you waiting for?  *wink!*

Hello and welcome to another Customer Spotlight Sunday!

We have a beautiful card to share with you today from our friend, Bensarmom, on Splitcoaststampers.  You can find her blog HERE  or check out her SCS gallery HERE.

For her card above she used our, Treasured, clear stamp set.  What a beautiful job she did with these striking colors!  I love the addition of the flower button with twine and ribbon.

You Are Treasured ~

stamps: Treasured, music BG
papers: SU everyday enchantment, SU
Inks: memento, copics, Old paper distress ink, versafine
accessories: Spellbinder die, SU punch, SU twine, pearls

Love this new set released in April.  Treasured comes with four sentiments along with six titles to whom you can send your endearing messages. (grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, Aunt, friend) I stamped this image using memento ink and coloured it in using copics. After colouring the image, I stamped the music background released in May, using Ranger distressed ink. I fussy cut around the second image to layer over the base. I curled the fronds of the flower and also the butterfly wings.

Here you see the closeup version of my card. Why not try your version of creating a fussy cut card and post it on Splitcoaststampers SNS member forum. Be sure to use tagline SNSS

Have a great weekend!

~ Wedded Bliss ~

Happy Wednesday, Sweet N Sassy Stampers!

May 26, 1982.

Thirty years ago, I married my best friend.  It was a gorgeous spring day in Morgan Hill, California and we stood under a flower laden arch in the back yard of my aunt and uncle.  Even my aunt's goats wore bow ties.  If I think about all that we have been through in those 30 years, it makes my head spin.   But the important things is that we are happily married still to this day.

So, I felt it appropriate to make a wedding card for today's post.

I took two heart shaped wooden buttons and turned them into a bride and groom using acrylic paints and 1/2 pearls.  This sentiment from the Calla Lily set was perfect for a wedding card, don't you think?

Die cut layers with a vellum sentiment sandwiched between hover over a die cut cross.   Finally, I draped some yummy white ribbon topped with a beautiful flower.

What do you think?

Masculine Thank You

Today I have another card to share that I made using Timeless Classic and Music Background.  This time I wanted to create a more masculine thank you card and combined it with a Spellbinders Valor M-Bossibilites folder.  The musical score was stamped on a die cut piece of Ivory cardstock, gently sponged the edges, and added a little bling.   I found that sponging the edges of the card base really helped to give it a muted tone.  I adore this new set and was needing something with a more "mature" look for my masculine cards!  Hope you are inspired to try yourself!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
