You're A Star!

Good Morning Friends!!  Jacquie here to share with you today!  Today I have an card of encouragement to share with you!  Can you believe that it is ALMOST time to send the kiddos back to school?  Wow, this summer went QUICK!

So, with school in mind and my kids in mind, I created this card.  I LOVE to give my kids positive reinforcement! The set I used it PERFECT for that!  While creating I followed the Splitcoast sketch from yesterday, SC499, and added a bit to it.  Here is the sketch for you to check out.

Here is what I did with the sketch!  I used a pre-made black card base and added 2 panels of DCWV patterned paper.  Now, these were just scraps, as I like to use up what I can.  I added stars from the You're A Star clear stamp set and I combined 2 phrases from the set, to make my sentiment.  After piecing the whole thing together, I completed my project with some red bakers twine and green sequins.  I think this will make a GREAT card for my son!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

You Are Special

Hello Friends!
Today I am sharing a Clean and Simple card with you using the Birthday Word Art set.  I started out with white card stock and a Tim Holtz heart stencil. I sponged the rows of hearts in 4 different colors, sewed on some velum and added the "You are special" sentiment from the Birthday Word Art Set

Winter is...

Hello friends! Giovana here sharing a winter card with you. I got inspired by the last challenge "Winter". I used the "Winter Silhouettes" set, stamped the image and sentiment on a piece of light brown cardstock in Versamark Watermark ink, then added white embossing powder and heated set.
After that I added a strip of red cardstock on top, tie on copper twine and added gold sequins. Super easy!!

Hope you like it. Don't forget our new challenge"Winter", you can upload your projects HERE.

Have a great day!

Blue Poppy Garden

Hello, I hope your Sunday has been a good one so far!  It's Bridget here to share
a watercolor creation with you today. I used the beautiful set,  Precious Poppies.
The medium sized poppies have been stamped three times across
the bottom of the card in Versafine Black Onyx ink on watercolor paper.
Versafine works well because it's waterproof and won't run.
I masked the poppies once or twice so that the images could overlap.
I then sprayed the whole panel with water before brushing
in the color using Ranger Distress Shabby Shutters
and Peeled Paint for the green areas and
Broken China, Peacock Feathers, and Stormy Sky for the blue areas.
When doing this kind of watercoloring, it's hard to make a mistake,
it's meant to be outside the lines - fun, when you get used to the idea!
It works particularly well with flower images, such as these in
the Precious Poppies set.
I then sponged and splattered ink for some extra color
before adding some gems in various sizes.
The sentiment is from the fantastic Birthday Word Art.
My card is also for the Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoaststampers
today where we're being inspired by Heidi Tekunoff, aka Stamptek, and
here is the lovely watercolor card which inspired me.
Thanks for stopping by today!

For Your Wedding

Good Morning Friends!  Jacquie here on this rainy morning to share with you!  I created the card below for my step son.  He just got married last weekend and their colors were eggplant and black.  So, I got out my SU Eggplant ink and my Versafine Black ink out.  Then, I thought the Thankful Blooms clear stamp set and coordinating Thankful Blooms die set would be perfect!  Now, of course I couldn't really, THANK them for getting married?  Haha!  So, I used the, "Just For You", stamp from the Birthday Art clear stamp set!  Ahhh.....I love it when you can utilize your stamp sets for ALL kinds of occasions!  I completed my card with a scrap of black ribbon, as I am all about using up those scraps, and some clear sparklers!  Hope you like my creation and thank you for stopping by!  Have a WONDERFUL day!

You Are Special~

Good Morning Sweet'nSassy Fans! Mary here to share this fun tea card with you. To read about the inspiration, visit my blog. As much I am a coffee anything fan, tea can make a person feel very special.

My card uses Diane Z's illustration Special Blend. I coloured the image with copics and layered the handcut image (silly me, I forgot I had the die!) onto Cheery Lynn's french pastry doily. It is laughable what I can do or not do for that matter. You can use the matching special blend die if you remember. Next, I tied the silky ribbon directly through the doily. The sentiment is from Gloria Stengle's  Birthday Word Art set.

Materials used:
Stamps: Special Blend, Birthday Word Art
Inks: SU Calypso Coral, Memento black, copics
paper: SU
Accessories: Cheery Lynn Die, Ribbon, dimensionals

Birthday Bash Cupcake...

Hello! It's Monika here, continuing on my birthday card quest, and showing you another sweet birthday card. I find that I am always in need of birthday cards...
Have I convinced you yet, how much you need these 2 birthday sets: Birthday Word Art and the fabulous Birthday Bash clear stamp sets? If not, here is another card to inspire you to have these in your stash:

I love combining the images from the sets... The colors came from The Color Throwdown #302. The sketch was loosely based on Mojo Monday #355.

The frosting was die-cut with a die from the coordinating Birthday Bash die set. To embellish my card, I made a butterfly, stamping the image from Majestic Monarchs clear stamp set on vellum, and heat embossing it with white embossing powder. The image then was die-cut with the coordinating die from Monarch die set. I also used Borders & Backgrounds die set...

...and here are some of my previous cards, using the same birthday stamp sets, but with different colors:

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Baby Congrats

Hi Everyone!

I have a sweet post today; one in which I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried a collage style card.
I know when I start back to work next month, there will be several teachers who will be expecting, so I decided to build my stash of baby cards.

My bear was colored with Copics; this sweetie is from the Valentine Critters Stamp Set, but does great double duty as a baby card image. I fussy cut the bear out; to help the bear stand out more, I mounted the bear image on a bear shaped mat that I fussy cut out, then layered it on a tag die cut (Kaiser Craft), floral die cut (Glitz Designs), and cheese cloth.  I die cut two leaves using the Thankful Blooms Die Set; I cut them from white card stock and colored them with Copics, mimicking the leaves in the floral die cut.
The base of the card was stamped with the Delightfully Delicate Background Stamp.  I added a scalloped edge using the Scallop Border Dies.  Of course, there is nothing like a seam binding bow to finish off what turned out to be a very girly baby card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today; have a blessed week!

Lee Ann  :)

the greatest gift

Hello!  Today I'm sharing another Christmas in July card.  This card uses three new Christmas sets called Christmas Morn, Jesus is Born, and Christmas Innies.  They are wonderful sets for jump-starting your holiday card making.

A circle punch was used to create an opening in the card front in which the popped up sentiment shows through.  An additional sentiment was also stamped on the inside.

I hope this inspires you to get some Christmas cards ready.  Have a great Monday!

♥ Diane

Faith. Hope. Love.

Good morning!

Jessica here this morning popping in to share a card that I made that uses several Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps make a 'shabby chic'  love themed card.  I love the sunflowers from the Prim Blessings stamp set and paired them with the Delightfully Delicate Background as well some dots from the Lots of Spots stamp set.

First, I stamped the sunflower images in Versamark ink and white embossed them.  Then, using Distress Markers, I watercolored them in and let it dry.  Then, using some light inks, I stamped the backgrounds not worrying if they got on the sunflowers since I used such light inks.

Such a fun card - but one that I had a hard time getting the correct colors to show through on the camera for you... sorry about that!

Have an enjoyable day filled with faith, hope and love!
Jessica

You're How Old

Hi there is Ceal here to share a card using the Birthday Word Art set.  This is such a fun set to ink up. I used the Birthday Bash die set to make my balloons and ran them thru different embossing folders. For my background I took the number image and stamped it three times but not reining to get the ombre effect.  last I tied some head around them for the string.

Big Balloon Birthday

Hello, it's Bridget here with another card using the fabulous Birthday Word Art.
Ever have one of those sets that you keep inking up so much that it
barely has time to grow cold?  I've been having a lot of fun with this one!
I used a large Nestabilities Circle to create a round balloon shape, cutting
the little tied end free hand, then used the negative die-cut to sponge
the balloon in Ranger Distress Picked Raspberry ink.
I added the stars using SNSS Stars Dies, finishing off
with some matching gems and black sequins.
The string and border were added with a black fine line marker.
Depending on the color of the balloon, this design could be used for
either gender and for any age.  Another birthday card for the stash
and when I know who this card is going to, there's plenty
of room to add the age with SNSS Numbers Dies!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Christmas Morn

Good Morning Friends!  I hope you are having a GREAT start to your week!  Jacquie here to share with you!  Today I am sharing a Christmas in July creation.  We have some AWESOME new clear stamp sets that were just released, that are just PERFECT for your clean and simple, Christmas creations!

I used  a pre- folded black card and layered a piece of white cardstock on top.  Then I stamped my little horse on a separate piece of white and cut it out with my Spellbinder circles.  I sponged a circle of Real Red ink, then popped up my horse on top of it.  I wanted to add a little something to it, so I added some green sequins and  a sentiment to complete my creation!  This card is definitely something I will be able to mass produce, for the upcoming holiday season!  I just LOVE that rocking horse, don't you?   Thanks for stopping by to visit with me today and have a WONDERFUL week!

Texture in Nature

Hello everyone!  Happy Sunday!  The other evening I drove to church in a drenching rain, but the sun was shining, so naturally when I arrived, I looked for a rainbow.  I wasn't disappointed!  Though faint, it was still there.  After church, I came out to see the most gorgeous sky…the different blend of blues and pinks, including the most beautiful turquoise color, was amazing.  I had to stop and thank the Lord for creating such beauty for us to enjoy!  This prompted me to grab some of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Nature Silhouette sets and do some creating of my own.

The background for the first card was made by wadding up a piece of wax paper and using it to dap VersaMark ink on a piece of mixed media paper.  This was clear embossed.  The panel was then dragged through puddles of distress inks on my craft sheet.  Another piece of paper was used to dab up the remaining ink on the craft sheet to create the panel behind the Cattails die cut.  The embossing was ironed off to remove the glossy look and to allow the sentiment from the Script Birthdays set to be stamped on the card.  Texture paste was added to the fishtail banner through a TH Burlap stencil.  Some jute thread and a button were added to finish the card.

The same background techniques were used for this card.  Water was spritzed through a dotted stencil to remove some of the ink on the large background.  This was overstamped using the same colors of distress inks on the Delightfully Delicate Background.  A stencil and modeling paste were used to add the butterfly.  The embossing on the smaller panel was again ironed off so the Nature Silhouette image could be stamped.  Globs of hot glue, inspired by Karen Dunbrook, were added for more texture.  The sentiment is from the God is Bigger stamp set.  Felt and burlap flags and a button finish the card.

Hope these cards have inspired you to add a little texture to your card creations, and while you are at it, take some time to enjoy the colors and textures in nature…God's gorgeous creation!

Thanks so much for stopping by…enjoy your day!
Hugs,
Cathymac
