Surrounded in Prayer

Hi Friends!

Hi Friends! Today I have more projects (CAS to more complex) for you using the same stamp set. Today I am using Surrounded in Prayer which is a great stamp set AND it is for a cause..

My first project is a clean and simple card. I used the sentiment and ribbon from the Surrounded in Prayer set then, to frame it, I used a short border stamp from the Hymn Block set. It is so fun when you are able to use those little stamps from one set on project after project and in different ways! Do you have some sets you can stretch?

Recipe :
  • Paper – Neenah Solar White card stock
  • Image – Surrounded in Prayer and Hymn Block
  • Ink – Stamped image with Gina K Amalgam Ink And Copics (RV02, RV04, RV06, RV17)
  • My background paper is cut with an AJVD rectangle die and Spellbinders Square Die

My Second project is a mixed media art journal page in my 6x6 disc bound journal. This one has a fun layer that make me smile out loud! I found a free copy of Amazing Grace online, printed it and used gel medium to adhere it to my journal page (I put gel medium under it and on top of it) Then I started building from there. A layer of Distress Oxide spray, splattered and edged with ink, some fun washi tape and my favorite elements - the people (colored with Copics) and the sentiment (cut apart and put down in pieces) from the Surrounded in Prayer set. I wanted the characters to look like they were singing soooo I looked through my stamp sets until I found a solid circle (the period in the Chunky Alpha set - woo hoo, how about that!)  I love the colors in this one and I LOVE the song peaking through

Here it is a little close - see the music! So happy right now!!

Recipe :
  • Background - Gel Medium (Golden) and sheet music of Amazing Grace (printed on copy paper)
  • Background ink - Distrss Oxide Spray Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo
  • Splatters - White Pebeo acrylic and Black Dylusion Paint
  • Image and Sentiment - Surrounded in Prayer and Chunky Alpha "Surround" is embossed with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and clear Embossing Powder
  • Main image colored with Copics
  • Washi Tape - By Grace from Illustrated Faith
  • Outline image with Stabilo All Pencil and water brush
I hope you are inspired today. Think about the all the little elements from your various stamp sets and use them in a new way!! Just have fun doing it!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Refresh My Soul

Hello friends, Stephanie here today with 2 card for you using the new Refresh My Soul Set which I am just so in love with!

For my first card I wanted to make a masculine Birthday card so I colored up this cactus with Copics and used Teeny Alpha and Chunky Alpha to make the words. I added a little heart to the cactus and the paper is from DCWV.  You could finish it off with several sentiments on the inside I am going to use it as a birthday card and the inside reads: "for someone your age" 😁

For my next card I colored up the same cactus, I used one of the sentiments from the set and made the "xoxo" with Teeny Alpha.  I colored with Copics and the paper is from Simple Stories.  Remember we have a free with $75 purchase and this month is is an awesome set called Scripty Thoughts pictured below.

Today it's All About Alpha's

Hey Guys, Lyn here and today I have a CAS card using some of the fun new alphabet stamps available at the Sweet N Sassy Stamps Shop. And in case you missed it... they are actually on sale as part this weeks special - Oh yes they are!
I used some water color paper for my card base and went with a one layer card. I wanted some rich colors so I dug through my inks until I found exactly what I was looking for and for fun, I went with some mixed fonts. After stamping up the chunkier words, I went over the inks with my water brush to make it look more like water color. Then all there was to do was add the perfect final touches - a manger scene and a star. The manger was colored in using some inktense pencils and the waterbrush.
It took me a while to get it the way I want it, but now I absolutely love it. I have to be honest. I am not sure this will ever be sent as I now kind of want to cut of the front and put it in a frame. What do you think?!

hedgie hi

Good morning!

Today I am sharing this card using the Furry Friends and Chunky Alpha stamp sets.

I don't remember where I saw a card with a similar sketch, but I love it!  I think it will quickly become one of my "go-to" sketches.  This hedgie is quite cute...I masked him and stamped the stump below so he had a resting place.  Then I chose a patterned paper with a sort-of "woodsy" feel to go with him.

Thanks for popping in and… happy stamping!
Diane

Happy Birthday!

Hello! It's Monika here today with a set of birthday cards.
I needed to make some birthday cards so I decided to go Clean & Simple (CAS) and make a number of cards (several of the same designs).

I had the Chunky Alpha clear stamp set out on my desk so I incorporated some of the letters into the greeting. It's fun mixing up your greetings and letters... there are so many different ways you can mix n' match images.
On the first card, I masked off the first letter of the words from the Companion Words clear stamp set, and used the letters from the alphabet set to make it more interesting:

On my second card, I stamped HAPPY with pink ink and stamped birthday with black ink. It game me a nice contrasting look:

On my last card, I used 2 different stamp sets to stamp out the greeting. Happy was part of a retirement greeting from the Retirement Sentiments clear stamp set, but I masked off the rest of the words:

I worked with 2 different shades of the same color... one dark and one light...
The cupcake image came from Birthday Bash clear stamp set. It has a coordinating die set (which is not available at the moment), but you can just stamp up the frosting image, cut it out and use that as a template to make the sparkly frosting. I had a bunch die-cut from ages ago so I used those to make several cards.

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika
