Thank You for Your Kindness!

I am loving the great new stamps sets SNSS has this month and today's cards use a couple of them - Kindness Matters and  Fantastic Flowers

The sentiments in the Kindness Matters set are fantastic! They can be used on a variety of cards and the Flowers really are Fantastic - they are pretty big, but they are great and there are several to choose from including leaves.

For my first card, I played around with emboss resist and ink blending.

SNSS TY for your Kindness copy

For the second one, I went pretty simple using the twig of leaves and water color (with Distress Inks). I colored it up twice, then created a 3D effect then added the "Thank you!" sentiment and that is all there is it. For some reason, this one really makes me happy.

Finally, I got out my Inktense pencils and a Grid stencil and created a background for the bigger sentiment. The background was a little bight so I went over it with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

This is really exciting - Now I have a thank you cards for my stash which is something I don't really think about too often so... yay!!

I hope today's cards provide you with a little inspiration! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

friends

Good morning!  Today I am sharing a CAS set of 3 cards with the Kindness and True Friend stamp sets.  I made this set to honor Korin last week as she celebrated her birthday.

The first card I made was a little softer…I stamped the flowers in the background with gray ink and colored the flower with soft blues.

The next two I made a little bolder, stamping with all black.

The Kindness stamp set looks beautiful in many colors!  Do you have a favorite color?

Have a great day!

Birthday Wishes

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a birthday card... not just any birthday card, but the one I made for Korin, who celebrated her birthday last week. You might have seen it on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Facebook page, but I didn't want you to miss this pretty number... so here it is again:

I used Kindness clear stamp set with the coordinating Kindness Flower/Cloves die set. The flowers were stamped on vellum with VersaMark ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder, then die-cut with the coordinating dies.

For the background, first I water colored the right side with purple ink, then I stamped one of the flowers from Long Stem Silhouettes clear stamp set with the same color. The greeting came from Birthday Innies clear stamp set. I also used a retired leaf die set for the leaves. Pearls and green thread finished off the card perfectly.

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

Be not afraid...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a butterfly card. I hadn't made one for a while now so I had to clench my thirst.
The inspiration came from yesterday's CAS challenge (CAS284) at SplitCoast Stamper. I CASEd this card...

The butterfly is from Majestic Monarchs clear stamp set, and it was die-cut with the coordinating Monarch Dies. The background was stamped with the wood grain image from Grunge Borders clear stamp set with White Luxe Memento ink... the words are from Be Encouraged clear stamp set

... but wait... while it was a beautiful CAS (Clean and Simple) card, I just had to make it more 'fancy'... so I added some flowers and this and that...

I die-cut some flowers out of Vellum with the Kindness Flower Dies and stamped the coordinating images from Kindness clear stamp set with VersaMark, then I poured white embossing powder on the flowers and heat embossed them with my heat gun. These flowers gave my card a light and fluffy touch.

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

A Christmas Thank You

Hello everyone... hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  Now that the gifts have been opened and the trimmings are being put away, it's time to send out those Christmas thank you notes.  I'd like to share one of mine with you that uses a little bit of tissue paper recycling…didn't want all of that pretty wrapping paper to go to waste!

The background, salvaged tissue paper from one of my Christmas packages, was scrunched in a ball, smoothed out, and glued to a piece of Vintage Cream card stock.  The ornament from Mod Ornaments was cut with the matching Ornament Die and stamped in Pure Poppy.  The split sentiment is from the Script Sentiments and Kindness stamp sets.  A Small Snowflake die cut from a matching piece of wrapping paper was added and the gold pearls help to pick up the gold in the tissue paper.

To celebrate the end of another year and to thank you for your amazing support,
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is having a big Store-Wide Year End Sale
from now until December 31st!

Now I can put all of my Christmas stamp sets away for a while and concentrate on the beginning of a new year!  Can't wait to see what Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has in store for us in 2014!  Until next year…

Have A Happy & Blessed New Year!
Hugs,
Cathy

Shape Up!

Hello friends of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps...Happy Sunday!  Have you seen the new die sets just released?   If not, you'll want to check them out HERE...they are so much fun, and just in time for creating summer themed cards!

My first sample uses the Shapes Dies.  The possibilities are endless for the shapes in this fabulous die set.

The chevron die was used to create the background panel.  Cut the end off the tear drop shape and attach it to a trapezoid, and wah-lah...a vase!  The flowers from the Celebrate Today set (not currently available) were colored with water-based markers and stamped onto a Rectangle Nestie that was sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  The leaves were made with a punch from my stash.  The wonderful sentiment is from the very popular
Be Encouraged set.  Some texture from an embossing folder, a little ribbon, and some pearls finish the card.

My next sample uses the Wave Dies and was made for The Sweet Stop sketch for this week.

The waves were cut from patterned paper and card stock.  Both the positive and the negative waves were used to make the layers for this card.  The image from the Ocean Paradise set was colored with Copic Markers.  The shells from the Beauty by the Sea set were colored, fussy cut, and given a coat of Glossy Accents before attaching them to the card.  The really cool thing about clear stamps is that you can curve the sentiments on your block to match the contours of your card as was done with this sentiment from the Kindness stamp set. Aaaaah...I want to be sitting in that chair right about now!

To see more ways to used the wonderful dies from this release, check out the
Summer Die-Version Blog Hop!

And there is still one more day to take advantage of this Sizzling Summer Sale!

I hope I've encouraged you to find new ways to think of shapes...if so, you too can SHAPE UP!

Have a blessed Sunday!

Springtime Sparrows

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a Spring card.
I wanted to make something that looked soft and delicate. I decided to do some water coloring.

SpringtimeSparrowsTatteredMist

I stamped the image (Springtime Sparrows clear stamp set) on watercolor paper with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it using White embossing powder. Then I colored the whole image with blue Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist (straight from the bottle with a paint brush). After that, I filled in the images with pink and green ink, and at the end, splattered some more blue ink on.

I kept the embellishing simple. I added some pearls and Baker's Twine.
I die-cut a bloom with the smallest die from Kindness Flowers Die set out of Vellum card stock and stamped the coordinating image on (Kindness clear stamp set) with VersaMark... then I heat embossed it.

The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS198. We are giving away a prize this week, so please stop by and play along with us!

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Kindness

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a shaped card with some creative folds.
I challenged myself to make a Circle Side Step Card. Beate has a fabulous tutorial on SplitCoastStampers. I followed her directions, but I did make mine a bit smaller, so it fits an A2 envelope.
I am not ready for fall yet, so I used some pretty flowers on my card (no butterflies!). It never gets old or goes out of style, and works for almost all occasions. These pretties came from Kindness clear stamp set, and I used the coordinating Kindness Flower die set.

The frame was made with one of the Decorative Plaque dies and a square die from Spellbinders. To give texture to it, I stamped the wood grain image from Grunge Borders clear stamp set repeatedly on the frame. After cutting the opening out, I glued a piece of old book page behind it, that was spritzed with brown ink.

The background was stamped with Music Background clear stamp set. Another image that can be used for any occasions. I used one more fun die, the grass from Fence & Grass die set

To embellish my card, I used ribbon, pearls, Baker's Twine, Stickles, Cheese cloths, buttons, and a Tim Holtz pin that holds the greeting.

Hope you will challenge yourself to make something different today! Give your creativity a go!

Clean and Simple with Sweet 'n Sassy

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you Clean and Simple (CAS). I'm known for my messy/distressed style, but I always admire simple cards... and sometimes, LESS is more! So I set out to play around and come up with some CAS designs.

I decided to use the new Grunge Border clear stamp set as my base set...

For my first card, I used Kraft paper, and just added similar hues and white. The images are from Vintage Postcard, Thinking of You , and New Beginnings along with New Beginnings Butterfly die. The butterfly is die-cut out of vellum, stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder (something you've seen me do over and over-and I can never get tired of the soft look).

On my second card, I used bright colors with the awesome chevron image. (You might have seen this card on SplitCoast Stampers. I made if for one of the challenges at our last release party.) This was super easy to make, and you can change the colors to work for the occasion. The quote is from Kindness clear stamp set.

On my last card, I used the negative image of a die, Season of Change Leaf. I stamped the white base card with the wood grain image. You can also just stamp a piece of white card stock, and tuck it behind the die-cut image. The quote is from the new Autumn Collage clear stamp set.

Hope we will see some of your CAS creations.

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Fun With Images, Dies, and Numbers

**Looking for our Christmas in July Blog Hop?  Check out this post for all the information on our Christmas stamp sale, new sets available for purchase, and details on how YOU can play along with us!**

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a butterfly card. Hopefully you are not tired of them yet. I just can't seem to put my New Beginnings clear stamp set and New Beginnings Butterfly die set away!  A must have in every craft room if you ask me!

As you can see, I used a number of stamp sets along with the butterfly: Nature Silhouettes, Kindness (quote), Vintage Postcard (5c), and Ticket Sentiments. Don't be afraid of mixing up your images. It's so much fun to play around with the different sets and styles.

Other than stamps, I also love playing with dies... and Sweet 'n Sassy now has a nice selection of fabulous dies that are made in the USA. I used the brand new Decorative Plaque dies along with Pennants & More (ticket), and Heart die set.

My favorite way of using the butterfly image is stamping it on vellum, and on regular card stock (after die-cutting the images). The 2 layers are just perfect together.

The little ticket tag slides out and it can hold a special message. I just made sure that I didn't glue the coral panel and plaque down all the way.

The fun sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS 168. We have a spin on our sketch this week: fun with numbers (I dry embossed my background designer paper with a Tim Holtz/Sizzix plate and brayered brown ink on top)... and we also have a PRIZE! Check it out!

Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy your weekend!
