Thanks

Hello Sweet Friends!  It's Sheri here today sharing a card Thank You card featuring a couple stamp sets along with the NEW Texture Tiles 3 Stamp of the Month.

I LOVE the new bubble wrap texture stamp that is part of the newest Texture Tiles 3 set.  I picked a piece of dark olive card stock that I had a coordinating ink pad for and created a tone on tone background.  I also used the Whimsy Bouquet and Thankful Blooms sets.

Thankful.....for Everything

{jane bosi} Hello, Sweet Friends!

I recently purchased this set, Thankful Blooms, and matching dies.  And, then became completely uninspired--total loss of mojo....does that ever happen to you?  What do you do during those creative-less times?

For me, the spark came back through play.  Oh, what we can learn from the littlest of children.  Their whole world is about playing.  Learning and play are just one thing.  Wouldn't it be great for us, as adults, to embrace the same concept?

I'm always interested to see what I can make things do.  How my colors work together, alone and with water.  So, I started with water color paper, three shades of distress ink, some sponge applicators and...because the pipette from THIS TUTORIAL was still sitting on my desk, a pipette and some water.

The key to the water splatter omit, is to add the splash before the inks have a chance to dry--which is oddly different since, I feel like I am ALWAYS waiting, impatiently, for something to dry before moving to the next step.  This is a refreshing change.

The blues are more vibrant in real life and only required a bit of piercing and a colorful flower to pull it all together.  Naturally, I added a few rhinestones because......everyone needs a little sparkle every once in a while.

That's all for me today!  Don't forget to be awesome!  TTFN Jane

Rest in the Lord

Are you enjoying the flowers that are blooming?  I sure am!  So I brought the flowers to paper today.

I used the Decorative Plaques dies as a starting point in my card design.  I then made a soft colored floral background and stamped the words over top using Thankful Blooms and Wait on the Lord.  Then I filled in the background with some accent butterflies from Parisian Postcard.

The white Decorative Plaques panel was centered over the white square layer and both pieces were stamped together.  Then I diecut the pink Decorative Plaques layer to place underneath the stamped piece.  A few accent pearls were added to the lower corner.

Have a wonderful day!
♥  Diane

Ombre Stamping

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends,
It's Ceal here to share another tutorial with you. As you know ombre stamping is all the rage right now. Hero arts has those cool Ombre inks but what if you are like me and don't have those inks? I am going to show you how to get the look with inks you may currently have. I am using Tim Holtz distress inks but any dye inks in contrasting colors will work.

Here are the tools you will need
For the roses I used, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries. The leaves are done in just two different greens, Mowed Lawn and Shabby Shutters.
I also used my MISTI tool, which made it so easy to do this technique because you can stamp in the exact same place over and over.

To start you will need to take your darkest color and sponge the top of your image, next the medium color and sponge starting at the top, going down a little over half way. The last step is to take the lights color and sponge the entire image, by sponging in this manner it gives you that ombre effect. If the colors aren't dark enough you just keep sponging putting more at the top ect, until you get the look you desire.

I sponged the leaves the same way, with the darkest color at the bottom and the lightest color over the entire image, this gives you that middle color.

The set I used Thankful Blooms is perfect for this technique. I also used the coordinating dies Thankful Blooms die set . For the greeting I used the Precious Poppies set.

Here's another one I did in purple

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and happy stamping

It is well

Hello friends!  My card today was actually made for a friend quite some time ago and was forgotten in my files.  I am glad that I just found it, though, because it prompted me to search for the hymn on YouTube and listen to it today.  Here's the simple card I made...

The flower is from Thankful Blooms (along with it's coordinating dies) and the verse and bridge are from Bridge of Hope.  Just a few select areas were colored and some Crystal Effects was applied to the water.
Listening to the hymn on YouTube and reading the story behind it (written in the video) has really touched my heart today.  Here's the video if  you would like to watch it too.

I hope you have a blessed day!

For Your Wedding

Good Morning Friends!  Jacquie here on this rainy morning to share with you!  I created the card below for my step son.  He just got married last weekend and their colors were eggplant and black.  So, I got out my SU Eggplant ink and my Versafine Black ink out.  Then, I thought the Thankful Blooms clear stamp set and coordinating Thankful Blooms die set would be perfect!  Now, of course I couldn't really, THANK them for getting married?  Haha!  So, I used the, "Just For You", stamp from the Birthday Art clear stamp set!  Ahhh.....I love it when you can utilize your stamp sets for ALL kinds of occasions!  I completed my card with a scrap of black ribbon, as I am all about using up those scraps, and some clear sparklers!  Hope you like my creation and thank you for stopping by!  Have a WONDERFUL day!

I used a couple of the newest releases on my card Thankful Blooms and So Thankful sentiment set.

To make my card, I stamped the roses and leaves with versa mark ink and embossed them with white embossing powder , next I sponged distress inks around them.  Sorry for the not so good photo I normally take my pictures in the daytime and this one was taken at night.

Love You, Mom

Hello Everyone!

I am sharing a card today, made for that all-important person, Mom.  Word dies are so trendy right now and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has a great one, Mother.  I combined this die with the Thankful Blooms Clear Stamp Set to make this Mother's Day card.

I started by making my card base from a Spellbinders Die, then used the negative space of the Mother Die, allowing the purple to show through.  The diecut paper is popped up on dimensionals for depth.

The card is embellished with flowers I made using the Thankful Blooms Clear Stamp Set.  I used the rock and roll technique to stamp them in two shades of pink, then die cut them out with their coordinating dies.  Once they were die cut out, I spiral cut along the white petal lines of the flowers and then, using a quilling tool, rolled them into rolled roses.  A little bit of clear glitter to the edges of the petals gives them some sparkle.
I used the Small Leaves Die to cut my leaves for the roses and colored them with Copics.  I added other bits of dies- twigs and vine- and some tiny purple flowers using a punch to complete the floral spray.  Pearls added as flower centers finishes off the card.

Wishing all of the Moms out there a very Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks for stopping by,

Lee Ann  :)

a little birdie told me..

Hello and happy Monday!  Here's a different shaped card for today.  I used the new Sweet 'n Sassy sets Thankful Blooms and Love Birds to create this File Folder Card.

And here's the inside..

There are quite a few tutorials and videos on creating this style of card but I followed this one.  If you don't have a punch board, you can also make a file folder card following the directions found here

I stamped the birds onto patterned paper and only cut one out for the front.  An additional wing was stamped and popped up for dimension.  The flower was also popped up over the ribbon.  Two of the sentiments were placed on a clear block in a wavy manner to give the card a whimsical feel.

I am really enjoying this month's Sweet 'n Sassy release...I hope you love it too!

Have a lovely day!
♥ Diane

Blooming with Thanks

Hello Everyone!

We have all been waiting patiently for winter to be over, and I think we can safely say that spring is finally here!  I just love all of the great spring sets that Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps will release this week!  I have a sneak peek of a wonderful set, reminiscent of bouquets of flowers.

This flower from the Thankful Blooms set is perfect for the rock and roll technique; I stamped my flower two times using this technique.  Both were cut out with the matching die;  I cut one of the flowers out in a swirl, following the lines of the image and then rolled it up like a rolled rose, allowed it to loosen up some and then adhered it on top of the other flower.  I stamped a Decorative Frame and die cut it out with its matching Decorative Plaque Die.  The frame is  used  as a base for the flower.
The scalloped border is from the Borders and Backgrounds set and was stamped on patterned paper and cut out with its matching Borders and Backgrounds Die.   A doily, some weathered woodgrain patterned paper and some pearls finish off the card.
I hope you can join us for our Release Party; we will be celebrating Thursday evening (April 10th) at 8pm EST in the Splitcoaststamper Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps forum here

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a blessed week!
