There's a wideness in God's Mercy

Hi Sweet 'n Sassy Friends, Ever have a week that the days get away from you? We have had a busy week, that has been filled with opportunities of personal growth and spiritual growth! I have another card today using the beautiful The Sea Clear Stamp Set.

You will love using this stamp set in your creations to encourage others. The Scripture and the poetic quotes that are in this set are the perfect words to encourage someone who is going through a challenging time.

On my project to day, I stamped the Sailboat image using Staz-On Black ink on glossy cardstock. Using several different yellows and Jumbo Sponge Daubers, I added a golden hue to create a sunset landscape. I matted the glossy cardstock on a dark brown cardstock and then a piece of retired Basic Grey patterned paper. Repeating the layering on the dark brown and then an orange piece of cardstock for the base. Once I looked at the card, I realized I had too much yellow. So I added some white Sharpie, extra fine to the water reflections, to create more contrast. Once finished, I looked through my embellishments and added an anchor with a Mini glue dot, I took some chord and looped it to create a rope look and adhered it to the cardstock with liquid glue.

I appreciate you taking a peek today. Come back tomorrow for some more eye candy created by Gracie.
May your day be filled with many blessings,
Chris Dickinson

His Timing

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends, it's Ceal here to share with you today.
I am using two different sets for my card, The Sea, one of my all time favorites and Truth Quotes 1 recently released.

God's timing is something I think we all struggle with, we are an instant gratification society and therefore it is hard to wait upon the Lord for things in our lives. We may think that God is silent or distant as we are waiting, God knows us and wants the best for us after all He created us. His thoughts and ways are not our thoughts and ways, neither is his timing our timing, but we must have faith not only in Him but in His timing as well. The struggle is real but God is patient.

I love this image because it reminds me of the story where Jesus was in the boat with the disciples, who like us had very little faith. The storm was raging and He calmed the wind and waves. In my mind this is what I see after he calms the sea.
To achieve my background I masked off the sun and blended distress inks.

Just Tape It!

Hello everyone…happy Friday!  Cathy here with some sweet news from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and several samples to share with you.

Is there a day that goes by that you don't use some kind of tape…packing tape, scotch tape, duct tape, masking tape…oh, and don't forget that washi tape?

Where's the tape on this card?  The distress inks were applied with masking tape.  Water was dropped on the horizon so the blues would blend and drip down the card front.  The image and the sentiment come from one of my favorite stamp sets…The Sea.

Now for a little bit of washi tape!

Washi tape was applied on the diagonal for the side panel.  The hearts from the Grunge Elements 2 stamp set were embossed and Color Burst powders were spritzed with water to create the background.  There's Cocoa popping out to send a little love from the Cocoa Sends Love digital stamp set.

***********************************************************

Speaking of Digital Stamps…there are two new Bible Journaling digital stamp sets designed by Rebecca Rios that were just added to the store.  If you are a coffee drinker or a tea drinker and love to journal in your Bible, these sets are for you.  Wait…you will love them even if you are not a Bible journaler!

The Sweet as Candy digital stamp set released in January was so popular that it is now also available as a clear stamp set!

***********************************************************

Many of you love the Be Encouraged stamp set.  Now there is a Be Encouraged 2 stamp set that is equally amazing.  There are only a limited number of these at this time so grab one while you can.  When they are sold out, it will be available as a pre-order which will probably ship by the end of next week.  This beautiful sample was created by Korin using the Be Encouraged 2 stamp set and Parisian Postcard.

***********************************************************

YEA!!  The Creative Worship: Lovin' God's Word Bible Journaling Kits have been shipped, so if you ordered the kit, you should be receiving some happy mail shortly as long as your order did not include any pre-order items.  We were amazed that these kits sold out in just one day!!  If you missed getting one of these fabulous kits designed by Krista Hamrick, do not worry…the Decorative Banners and His Book stamp sets are now available for pre-order.  We will be receiving the stamp sets from our manufacture by the end of next week!

One last thing….today is the last day for Our Dies are to Die For Sale!

Thanks so much for stopping by…we had a lot of information for you today!
Have a blessed weekend!

The Sea is a wonderful stamp set with this gorgeous ocean scene and several verses and sentiments- perfect for masculine or feminine cards!

This card was fairly easy to create: Stamp the ocean scene using embossing ink, apply black embossing powder and heat set.  Create a mask with a circle punch and sponge various colors onto the sky and water (I used Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry).

Ink and stamp the verse from the stamp set using embossing ink, heat set with black embossing powder, trim and mount onto black cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base to finish off the card.

In honor of Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps Birthday Celebration we are doing an “About Me” segment for each of the Design Team Members :

My husband and I live in Maryland and we are about to celebrate our 33rd Anniversary in January.  We do not have any children of our own, but love working with 3rd thru 6th grade kids in our church’s Awana program and have done so now for 18 years.

We have always had “kitties” in the house and over the years have had two groups of three- four are in “Kitty Heaven” and we still have two that are with us ( our “girls” are almost 10 years old, Angel and Queenie).  They love to be with me in my stamping area and are faithful companions :-)

I have always been artistic and ever since I was a young girl had a pencil with paper in my hands either drawing or coloring!  I was introduced to stamping in 1999 and loved the idea of being able to show others how they could be artistic as well!  I have been blessed with a very supportive husband and am currently on several Design Teams.

How long have you been a fan of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps?
I believe I have been a fan since the beginning and a customer for at least five years or more!  I love all of the beautiful images, Christian sentiments and verses!  It has been a delight to get to know  Korin as well as the Design Divas on the team.

What do you enjoy outside of stamping?
I enjoy spending time with my husband and we love to take day trips to the mountains and enjoy God’s beautiful creation!  I love doing all types of arts and crafts as well as sewing and, of course, enjoy reading and studying the Bible (have also starting to do some Bible Art Journaling).

What is your "day" job?
I have recently “retired” after 40+ years working outside the home primarily in accounting.  Right now, my current “day” job is a stay at home wife that is able to stamp between chores (well, sometimes the house is cleaned- lol!)

Who inspires you?
As the others have said, that is a hard question!  So much inspiration is all around us as well as online- I tend to draw inspiration from nature, viewing online galleries such as Splitcoaststampers and I especially love to participate in online challenges- sketches, color combinations, themes, etc.  I truly believe that the Lord has gifted us all in various ways and am so thankful that He has allowed me to share that gift of art with others.

Share a fun or interesting fact about yourself that most people might not know...
My husband and I met on a “blind date” and have been inseparable ever since!

What advice would you give to a new stamper?
Join stamping groups like Splitcoaststampers (which is free) and check out the galleries, try a few challenges and of course, check out the tutorials.  YouTube has so many videos and Pinterest is another source of inspiration for sure!!  Remember to have fun and do not compare yourself with others- it takes time to develop techniques and skills.  Invest in stamps that can be used for many different types of cards and coordinating inks with papers.

What is your favorite SNSS set?
Oh my, another difficult question!!  I love all of Sweet ‘n Sassys’ sets– the featured set today is one of my favorites and here is a card that I created using a Salted Background:

I also love Parisian Postcard and here is a simple collage card  using this set:

Well, I hope you have enjoyed our “Getting to Know You” segments- have a blessed week, sweet friends!

Monochromatic Sea

Hello!  Diana here to share with you a monochromatic card I made with the stamp set The Sea.  To make it a bit more dramatic, I made an alteration of the telescoping technique.  After sponging the sea and sky and stamping the image, I die cut three concentric circles with the smallest centering on the boat.

I then popped up the outermost ring with one layer of foam tape, kept the middle ring flat, and then popped up the center with two layers of foam tape.  I liked how you still get a dramatic effect yet the card is not too thick.  I then added the banner with the Scripture from Mark and touches of white with a gel pen.

I just love this set!  So great for masculine cards!

Remembering Dad

Hello, sweet friends and Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there!  Cathy here with a Father's Day card for you today.  My dad passed away almost twenty years ago.  He loved the ocean, especially deep sea fishing, so The Sea clear stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, now back in stock, was the perfect choice for a card in memory of my DAD!

Graphics 45 papers helped set the stage for the sailing vessel image from The Sea which was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  The split sentiment is from the Camping Fun stamp set and was cut with the Banner Dies.  A sailor's knot made with rope twine and a few black pearls were added to finish the card.

Here are the products from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store
used to make this card:

Trips to the ocean always bring back fond memories of my dad!  Even though my dad is no longer here, I have a heavenly Father who loves me even more than my earthly father did…and so do you!

Have a wonderful Father's Day!!

Praying Through

Hello everyone!  Cathy here to share a card I made for a man at our church who just suffered a stroke.  I'm hoping this card will bring encouragement to him and his wife.  Since I'm hosting the Sketch Challenge today over at Splitcoaststampers, SC541 was used for the design of my card.

This sailboat image from The Sea clear stamp set is perfect for masculine cards and was stamped on watercolor paper using a waterproof ink...Versafine Onyx Black.  The edges were taped down to a cutting board creating a frame around the image.   Kuretake watercolors were brushed onto the dampened paper.  The panel was propped at an angle and enough water was added to the ocean allowing the color to drip down the image, stopping at the taped edge.  Each layer of color was air dried before the next color was added.  The same method was used to apply the colors to the sky, but the panel was left flat to dry, eliminating the drips.  When completely dry, the sentiment from the God is Bigger stamp set was added along with a few black pearls.

Here are the beautiful stamp sets and dies from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store
that were used to create this card:

Thanks so much for stopping by…hope you've been inspired by your visit!
Be sure to stop back again on Friday for a new Friday Feature!
Have a wonderfully blessed day!

birthday by the sea

Hello!  Did you see the new dies that were released yesterday?  They match 3 of the summer sets already available in the SNSS store.  Here I paired a stamp set called The Sea with seashells from Beauty By The Sea and their (just released) matching dies.

The shells were heat embossed on vellum and colored from behind with various markers.  A circle was punched in the light blue layer and then I lightly traced the opening before gluing the layer down so I knew where to stamp the boat image.

Seashells are great to use on a card because they can convey happiness or a sense of calmness and peace.  I think this design would work well for many occasions, including sympathy.  Just make several the same and switch up the sentiment.

Have a great Saturday!
♥ Diane

Speaking The Truth

Hi there!
It's Ceal here sharing some more samples from our August Release.  I do a card ministry at my church and I was so excited to see these sets released.  I love how they are over sized sentiments and become focal point of your card. They show us who God is and how He cares for us and sure to bring encouragement to those who receive a card made with these two sentiments.
My first card uses Calms His Child and I paired it up with  an older set The Sea. I stamped the image in Memento London Fog so it is muted and then sponged over it with some distress inks.
For my second card I used His Peace along with Authentique papers and one of the hearts from the Heart Dies

Thanks for stopping by!

The Sea

Hi there, it's Ceal to share with you today.

The set I chose to showcase is this classic elegance set,  The Sea, its so gorgeous and versatile, and I just love the sentiments. I chose the Mark passage sentiment because this is an encouragement card, and how encouraging it is to know that Jesus is in the same boat you are!

For my background I sponged distress inks in blue, purple and yellow.

The Day After

Hello stamping friends!

What did you think of our new release format yesterday?  Did you enjoy the hop and the challenges being stretched throughout the day?  I thought the hop was incredibly inspiring and I had a great time stamping for the challenges. :) I was able to complete all of the challenges yesterday....although I did get to work ahead on a few of them ;).

If you missed anything yesterday, don't worry---you can catch up today!!  There is still time to enter to win the entire release by blog hopping with us HERE and you have until Friday night to play along with our fun Virtual Stamping Day for more chances to win HERE

One of the challenges, hosted by Jessica Fick, was to use die cuts with patterned paper with a bonus challenge to stamp on the die cut so I made this super fast CAS card with our new Decorative Plaque Dies and The Sea stamp set.

I think it took me about 10 minutes to put it together.  I added some twine and crystal effects to give my card a bit more personality. :)  There's just something about a good clean and simple card, don't you think?

Here's a closer look at the stamp set and dies I used...

Thanks for visiting today!!

Until next time, happy stamping!!
