Star Teacher Digi + Blog Hop Winner

Hi friends! It's Julee Tilman,  popping in with a project featuring the new Star Teacher Digi I designed for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. My boys have had the most AMAZING teacher this year, and I was inspired to design a few little digis to make some projects for her for Teacher Appreciation Week next week. I'm also announcing  the winner of our April Blog Hop, so be sure to stick around to the end of the post to see if you won!

I started with the sip, sip hooray sentiment, cutting it out in a tag shape. I took the plain to go cup image and sized it down and copied it for the cup image layering the original sized cup over the top for a little dimension and colored with Copic markers.

For the inside of the card, I wanted to do a gift card to go with the "coffee's on me" part of the sentiment.  So I used a patterned paper strip, but only glued it down on the bottom and sides so I could tuck in a Starbucks gift card.  I then cut down the thanks a latte sentiment from the set and placed it in the center to finish things off.  A super quick and fun card done!

For my second project I wanted to create a bookmark to go along with a book store gift card. I haven't finished up the whole project yet, but the bookmark design is done, minus the laminating.

I lined up the two sentiments and the star image to print, then cut with the Bookmarks & More Die Set.  I then stamped the stars from the Back to School stamp set in blues and greens to fill in the space. Then I handed it off to one of my boys with some Copics to color in the star.  A little tassel finishes things off.

Okay, if you haven't checked out the $10 Deals category in the SNSS shop yet, there are still a few more days to take advantage of the sale!  Lots of goodies, including one of my personal faves, the Coffee Talk set!  Here's a throwback card I made with this fabulous set, on sale for only $10 until April 30.

 And the winner is.....

Okay, enough suspense, if you've read this far I'm sure you're excited to find out who the comment winner was from our April Blog Hop!

Congrats sharon g!

Puppy Love

Happy Saturday Everyone! There are four new digis in the house and all digi stamps are 50% off November 6-12, 2020.  I decided to play with GG: Puppy Love first since I love this sweet image. So cute!

After I printed her out on canson mixed media paper, I die cut the panel and colored with Arteza Real Brush Pens. I masked the bottom of the white panel and added some green ink just along the edge. After that, I wasn't sure what else to add to the card. I started digging through my stash of extra colored images and came across the sun from Melt for You and the flower pots from Happy Camper. I love mixing and matching elements from different sets!  I assembled the card as seen and added the sentiment from Sentimental Wordfetti

I hope you enjoyed today's card and may you have an awesome day!

2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

Hi coffee, tea, and cocoa fans! We're so excited to once again be amidst a long list of fabulous Super Sponsors for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Nothing better than a little caffeinated creation to put a little SPRING in your step! 😉

The hop kicks off today and runs through Friday, May 22. To be eligible for any of the fabulous Super Sponsor prizes, simply create a NEW spring or summer themed coffee, tea, or cocoa project and link it up over on the official Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop post. Enter as many cards as you like, the more the merrier! The deadline to link up is Friday, May 29.

Also, today we're launching a new DIGITAL set designed by yours truly. If you've followed me and my stamping adventures for any length of time, you know I have a passion for coffee... and stamps. So I dusted of my design software and drew up a new set in honor of today's hop.  My Sunshine in a Cup DIGITAL set is available in the shop now. It includes PNG images, as well as a printable PDF of all the images and sentiments for those who aren't comfortable with manipulating digis.

If you love digis, be sure to check out our other Coffee, Tea, & Cocoa DIGIS.

For my card today, I colored up the sunny to-go cup from Sunshine in a Cup, then chose some matching papers.  The yellow was a little too blank for my taste, so I jazzed it up with some tone on tone stamping with the trio of coffee beans from the Special Blend set. I layered everything together, then added the sentiment from the digi set and a black stitched bow.

Our new May release includes the beautiful new In This Together clear stamp set. This set was first available as a DIGITAL set, and is now available with a few more sentiments in physical stamp form.  Hooray! It has lovely floral cup and teapot imagery and a host of encouraging sentiments.

Getting Digi With It!

So I am absolutely loving this months's new clear stamps. They are truly beautiful!  But...Have you seen all of the fabulous new digital stamps in the shop? They are so much fun to create with! Last Friday night I printed up a couple pages of them to just sit and color over the weekend. I didn't quite get them all colored but I did enjoy the relaxing process of just coloring for the fun of it. Today's projects are what I came up with for the completed coloring.

I shared on the VIP FaceBook page my coloring pages (here they are for reference.)

I got all of the top page (a background page) colored and the bear doctor. I got most of the fairy colored too but not all so she will have to come out another day.

I decided to create some thank you cards for some healthcare workers who are so tirelessly working through the current pandemic. Adding the background page using the medical "stuff" from the Healthcare Bears digi and sentiments from the Healthcare Bears digi set and the Nurse Bear digi set (she is FREE) made some simple but awesome cards. I just chopped the page into four pieces and that was that... Fun right??

I had a great geli-plate mixed media page sitting in my stash that I thought would go with my doctor bear from Healthcare Bears so I fussy cut him and made a mixed media card...

I also colored up the new GG (stands for God's Girl). This one is called Love the Word and she would NOT be denied! This project makes me smile OUT LOUD! After I colored her, I wasn't sure what sentiment to add, whether she should be a card front or a journal card and I finally decided I wanted her in my Bible. It is a much bigger Journal card than I usually make but that is totally OK! I added a sentiment from God is For You because I thought that it was perfect for both my image and the times we are in.

Matthew 28:19-20
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

This is such an awesome reminder that we are to not only to witness to the non believers but to grow in our own faith as well; and in doing so we are rewarded with the knowledge that God is with us ALWAYS until the END! What a comfort in the face of the fears we are now experiencing...Do not fear! God is with you ALWAYS! Not just in the good times...ALWAYS!!

I hope you are inspired today to try dome new digital stamps. They mix great with clear stamps and are lots of fun!!

Have a great day!

Let's Go to the Movies!

Did you know that Sweet N Sassy had digital stamps? They absolutely do and there are some very fun ones to choose from! And today I had so much fun playing with the Poppin' By Digital Stamp Set. Complete with cute image and 2 fun sentiments!!

First I created a CAS card and because I couldn't help myself, I took a little tutorial and learned to make a kernel of popcorn with polymer clay to embellish it with.

I also created a gift card holder for a movie gift card (you know...to round out the gift :)).

I love it! However, it is now too thick for an envelope hmmm... maybe I will put the card and the Gift card holder in a small box (haha - is that to counter-intuitive for a GC holder??)

I hope you like it!! Hop over to the Digital department of the store and have fun!!!

Valentine Background Fun!

I have a fun background today (haha, I feel like I have been saying that a lot lately - YAY Me!!) - I have been wanting to do a background collage of images... so for this technique, I went with digis. The beauty of a digi is that you can change their size, in the case of this card, move them around on the paper as many times as you want before committing to the layout, and even flipping the image if you want. Pretty convenient for this type of project!
My digis include: Valentine Birdie Digital StampValentine Kitty, Valentine Bunny with Sentiment Digital StampValentine Teddy with Sentiment Digital Stamp and the sentiment is from the You & Me Clear Stamp Set (not a digi because white embossing and digis - not so much...)snss-valentines-copy
It turned out sweet right? Now it is your turn - create a simple card with an image filled background. This works with clear/rubber stamps too! I can't wait to see what you create!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday

Hello Sunday Friends!

I just wanted to quickly share the card I made for our Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps leader, Korin.  Her birthday was Tuesday and we "showered" her with cards to wish her the happiest birthday.

My image and top sentiment are from the One of a Kind digital stamp set.  I love how easy it is to search through the digital stamps on the site.  They are completely organized and just a few clicks away from being in your stash.

I added a layered Birthday die cut to finish my card and I hope it made her birthday just a bit brighter.

Have a great day and we'll be back very soon with another post.

Sending Lots of Love

Happy Tuesday!

I am loving my time as guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  Thank you or making me feel so welcome!

I used two different digi sets for my card.  My main image - the cutie pie flowers are called Doodle Flowers and it is a digi stamp..  This was a very easy image to color.  I'm sure it took less than 30 minutes!  I totally enjoyed adding just a bit of shading to each flower.

My sentiment is the Sending Love digi stamp..  I love the font and I think you will too.  I am a sucker for cute fonts!!

So that's it for me today.  I think you could use this as a Valentine or just a friendship card.  What do you think?

Be sure to check out all the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps digis.  And while you're there, take a peek at the wonderful clear stamps too!

Happy stamping!

I Love You More Than...

Happy Tuesday!

I am so honored to be a guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for the next few weeks. My passion is card making, so I have plenty of stamps and digi stamps.  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is one of my favorites and I especially love the digis.

I used two different digi sets for my card.  My jelly beans are from the Sweet as Candy set.  Can you believe how adorable these images are??  They are perfect for coloring.  For mine, I used Copic markers, but there are so many more mediums from which to choose.

My sentiment is from the Candy Sentiments 2 set.  Can you even imagine how many valentines you could make with these sets?  And the advantage to digi stamps is the ability to resize images and sentiments.  I even broke my sentiments apart before printing.

I hope you like my valentine today.  I had a blast making it and adding just a bit of bling to get it ready for sending to a sweet friend.

Be sure to check out ALL the Valentine's Day digis.  And while you're there, take a peek at the wonderful clear stamps too!

Happy stamping!

Cocoa's Heart - I {Heart} You :-)

Happy Monday Sweet ‘n Sassy Friends!

Julie here and since we just celebrated a new Digital Stamp Release this past week, I thought I would share a fun Valentine’s Day card that I created with some of the digital stamps that were already in stock- Cocoa’s Heart and Valentine’s Day Greeting.

Did you know that Sweet ‘n SassyStamps has over 200 exclusive digital stamp images (also known as “digi’ or “digi's”) in the online store?

Are you intimidated by digi stamps?

You do not need to be...they are so easy to use and you can print them out and color them just like a normal stamp image.

One thing I personally love about digi stamps is that you can re-size them to fit your design- for this card, I printed out the Cocoa’s Heart image along with cropping the sentiment from the Valentine’s Day Greeting set.

FYI- I did re-size both images for this card and before printing them on my white cardstock, I also inserted other images onto the document (I can use the other images for several cards in the future :-)).

Also, were you aware that you can color digi images with watercolor pencils, sponging, ink with a water brush (Distress Inks, etc.), alcohol markers, regular colored pencils (plain or with Gamsol)- basically any medium that you use for regular stamps.

I print my images out with an inkjet printer, so the only tip I can recommend regarding coloring digital images would be not to saturate the image with too much water or get too close to the printed lines with water (the printer ink can bleed a bit into the coloring medium if it is too wet).

I decided to color the Cocoa’s Heart image using Spectrum Noir™ Alcohol Markers and used a Faber-Castell® Pitt Penn marker to add the border.

After coloring, I “fussy-cut” out the heart and mounted the image onto white cardstock and cut around the heart by hand to create a white border.

I wanted to add some shimmer, so I used a waterbrush to paint Frost White Shimmer Paint over the entire heart (but tried to avoid Cocoa)...it is a bit difficult to see the shimmer in the photo (fyi- I also added Crystal Effects® to Cocoa’s nose, but again, this is difficult to see in the photo :-)).

The sentiment from Valentine's Day Greetings was printed and banners were created with a hexagon punch (although you can also create really fun banners with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Banner Dies- these are on my "wish list").

I mounted the banner onto a piece of black cardstock and layered everything onto the card using the Splitcoaststampers’ SC568 Sketch Challenge for inspiration.

I hope we have inspired you to try some of the digital images for yourself- if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Hugs and have a blessed week, sweet friends!!
