Owlways Remember

Karen here with a fun owl card featuring a background made with the brand new Grunge Grid Stencil.

I created the background with the Grunge Grid Stencil along with Pixie Pink, Pink Passion and Melon Mambo inks on white cardstock. I die cut the background, matted with brown cardstock and attached to a white card base. I stamped the owl and sentiment with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink on white cardstock. I trimmed the sentiment and attached to the stenciled panel. I colored the owl, fussy cut out and popped up with foam tape as seen. I die cut a small heart and inked it up with melon mambo ink. I glued the heart on the owl and added three small gems to finish the card.

My background piece came from a recent playtime. Be on the lookout during the rest of the month for how I use the other backgrounds.

Owl Be Here

Hi there Sweet 'n Sassy friends, thanks for stopping by! It's Ceal here to share with you today a card I made for the Hope You Can Cling To card drive that is going on the entire month of October.
To make my card I used three different sets. For the tree I used the Tree Background stamped in Ground Expresso distress ink. The leaves are from the Falling Leaves set stamped in Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade, and Fossilized Amber distress inks, since these inks react with water, I took a damp water brush and lightly went over the leaves to bring them together.  The cute little owl and greeting are from set Owl Be There. I wanted to make the owl a shaker, and using the Owl Die made it super easy.

Hello, Sweet 'n Sassy friends!  Welcome to this week's Friday Feature.  The samples we have to share with you today are as cute as can be.  Here is Owl Be There and the Owl Die by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Today's feature is:
Owl Be There and coordinating
Owl Die

  • set measures 4"x4"
  • illustrated by Korin Sutherland
  • includes 1 image and 7 sentiments
  • owl image measures approximately 2.5" x 2.3"
  • Includes 1 die
  • Measures approximately 2 5/8" x 2 3/8"
  • Coordinates with Owl Be There stamp set

Whether you need an adorable card for a birthday, for encouragement, for a friend, or just because, Owl Be There and the matching Owl Die are so much fun to use.  Colored, paper pieced, or just stamped...this fun set is sure to be a big hit!

Need a card for a special friend?  Owl Be There is the stamp set to use.  Here the owl has been colored and his little belly was paper pieced. The Branch from the Love Birds stamp set is the perfect resting spot and it is super easy to cut out using the matching Love Birds Die Set.

Using the Congrats Grad stamp set and matching Congrats Grad Dies makes this owl a wise old bird!  How cute is this for a graduation card!  The sentiment and the label were cut with the fabulous Decorative Plaques Die Set.

Here are some fabulous samples from the past that were made by the amazing Design Divas using the Owl Be There stamp set and the
coordinating Owl Die:

Kim used the Decorative Plaques Dies and the Scalloped Star Border Die along with the owl to create this enchanting tag…SWEET!

Here's another delightful card created by Kim.  Love the polka dot pattern used on many of the circle elements and the Scalloped Heart Border along the bottom edge.

On this charming card, Mary chose to completely paper piece the owl from Owl Be There.  Love how the fishtail banners on the side match the papers used on the owl!

Owl Be There is one of those stamp sets that can be used in any season.  This darling card created by Judy using fun papers, colors, and a Scalloped Border just screams SPRING to me!

This card created by Bridget was pulled from the archives.  In the stamping world, owls can be any color, especially if you are the queen of color!  The colors for this SWEET owl were pulled from the patchwork paper and the sentiment was stamped on one of the Clouds and Raindrops die cuts.

Owl Be There and the matching Owl Die is a winning combination to add to your stamping collection!

Both are 10% for a limited time!

Owlways Remember

I love stamps that can be used for all seasons and occasions. Owl Be There is one of those sweet, fun stamp sets.
It comes with cute-as-can-be sentiments. I love the artwork on this. IRL, the buttons are the same darker pink as in the cute designer paper  (Recollections). Here they look a little red, but they are PINK! I hand cut my little branch for the owl to sit on. I added an extra layer of wings, eyes and feathered tummy for dimension.
The green scallops are cut with the Scallop Border Die Set. Although I didn't use it here, there is a wonderful Owl Die to match!
I love how this turned out, and I know I will use this set again and again! Thanks for stopping by today!

Owl be There ~

Good Morning Sweet'nSassy Fans and Friends! Mary here with this adorable owl, sitting on a branch and hooting a sweet message. Whooo doesn't love this cute image? The owl is paper pieced after I stamped him four different times on coordinating designer papers. The base of my owl is cut using the matching owl die. Owl Be Here stamp and Die are available as a bundle or you can purchase them individually if you already have the stamp set. I perched my adorable owl on a branch from the Love Birds die. The branch is coloured using ink pads and a watercolour brush.
Materials used:
Stamps: Owl be Here, Love Birds
Inks: Versafine black, various Ranger inks (for branch), SU early espresso, Colourbox Chalk ink toffee
Paper: SU, My minds Eye, Echo Park, Basic Grey
Accessories: SNSS Dies

If you need something to jumpstart your creativity, why not participate in our bloghop from yesterday. All you need are a few polka-dots on your card. Don't forget to link it to your site using the linky tool at the bottom of yesterday's post.

Elaina name frame

Good morning! We are gearing up for another new release so be sure to check the store on Friday!
Today, though, I have a project to share that I recently made for a baby shower gift.  I used lots of Sweet 'n Sassy products to create a fun name frame to match the baby's nursery décor.

This is one of those projects that looks much cuter in person!  It's so hard to photograph without getting a glare from the glass and it's difficult to see the dimension with embossing and foam dots.  I have a few close ups to see it better.

The nursery is decorated with owls, so I used the Owl Be Here stamp set.  I didn't have a die large enough for the size of branch I needed so I cut my own.  Then I embossed it with a woodgrain embossing folder and sponged it with ink.

The flowers were diecut with the SNSS Kindness dies and accented with the Small Leaves.  I also diecut the Clouds and Sun with SNSS dies and the sun was accented with one of the Stars Dies.  The butterfly is from the Majestic Monarchs dies and the banner flags are from the Pennants & More dies.  Lastly, I added a single heart from the Heart Dies.

One of my favorite parts is the embossed clouds!

Besides owls, the nursery has some paisley so I made sure to add a paisley cloud.  I couldn't help but to sneak in some tiny embossed hearts too!

I hope this inspires you to create some framed art of your own.  I sure had fun creating this one!  I almost changed my name so I could keep it.  ;)

Have a blessed week, friends!

Owl be There ~ Hoot of a Friend

stamps: Owl be There

Good morning Sweet'nSassy friends! I hope your Saturday finds you refreshed and time for some creative play. I love a weekend where I can do some of that...but believe me, they are few and far between. So, where I can squeeze in some creative fun, I do!

Owl be there is a set that is sooo much fun to paper piece. I took this cute owl and stamped him on four different patterns of paper that coordinate. Next I mounted him on one of the matching papers and continued the coordinating theme on the base of the card.

Thank you for joining us! Pull out your favourite SNS clear stamps to paper piece a card today and Have a beautiful Day!

Owl Be There

Hello!  Jennie here again with my last Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps guest design spot of the month.  The month has flown and I have greatly enjoyed working with Korin and her fabulous stamps.  I had to finish off the month using this adorable set Owl Be There which was released back in April.  My favorite technique is paper piecing and this owl image is just adorable paper pieced!!!

Thank you Korin, Taylor and the rest of the SNSS DT!  It has been a wonderful month and so inspired by your designs.  Will certainly be stalking to see the sneak peeks which (I heard) start tomorrow for the June release.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Hoot of a Friend

Recently I was honored to have been asked to make a sample for the Inspiration Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers. I loved the site, Greenheart Shop, so much, I had to make two cards because I could not choose which piece of inspiration I loved the most!  Today I'm sharing a card inspired by this sweet little wool owl birdhouse.

I inked up the new Owl Be There set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and attempted to stick to the fun colors of the inspiration piece.  I think I ended up a smidge pinker than the original owl, but he's still cute!  I also added some hand-stitching to two of the panels, and snuck some of my favorite lace tape from Love My Tapes on there too.

Supplies:
Stamps: Owl Be There (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps)
Card Stock: Kraft, White (Neenah); Black (Recollections)
Patterned Paper: Social Club (Cosmo Cricket)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Coloring Medium: Copics
Accessories: Lace Tape (Love My Tapes), Pearls (Creative Impressions), Thread (Unkown)
Tools: Circle Punches (SU); Paper Piercer, Needle

Hope you're day is a hoot!

Good Morning Sweet 'n Sassy fans.  I"m excited to join the Sweet 'n Sassy team this month as a guest designer.  Did you like the new release last week??   It was so difficult to choose which sets to get, because I LOVED them all.  Isn't this little guy a cutie patootie!  What a great friendship set.  And so many possibilities with this image.

Wouldn't the image be cute with a little bow on the head for a girl, oh and what about a party hat???  That would make a great birthday card!  You could have him sitting on top of a birthday gift.  I'm trying to think of other things we could tuck under his wing .... what about a book and a graduates hat on his head .... or a balloon.

Another great idea would be to put two of them standing side by side with their wings touching so they look like they are holding hands.  There just may be enough room between the wings to have him holding a banner.  We can have a lot of fun with this little guy!

I'd love to know what idea's you have.  If you would like to share an idea or a card you created using this little guy .... hop over to this post on my blog and leave me a comment.  HERE.

Hope you're day is a hoot and I'll see you next tuesday!
hugs, Melisa
