Lemons and Lettering

 Hello!

Have you been enjoying Customer Appreciation Month?  Sweet n Sassy Stamps has such talented artists.

When I think lettering, Rebecca Rios pops into my head!  I love her calligraphy and sentiments.  Life and Lemons is one of my favorites of hers~

Rebecca's letters are exquisite and because of that you can keep your card fairly CAS and the lettering alone will make it shine!  But this lemon though...I love this stylized lemon.  It was stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Ken Oliver Colorbursts.  It was then fussy cut out.  The card base was stamped with the same lemon and leaf, only this time it was stamped randomly in light gray.  A couple of white panels set the lemon apart and lastly, the sentiment is stamped.  a few sequins finish off the card.

And I cannot forget one of her newest sets, Count Your Rainbows with coordinating dies.  This is such a fun set!  I needed some thank yous for some students at school; this was the perfect set.  I made simple 3 x 3 cards using the smallest rainbow and coordinating die, along with one of the cloud dies.

The rainbow is colored with Copics and the sentiment is heat embossed on black cs.  The sentiment is from the Scripty Thoughts Stamp set

Rebecca's sets are currently on sale through May 20th, so now is the time to stock up!

Thank you for stopping by!

Have a blessed week!

Happy Anniversary

Hello everyone! I would like to share another watercolor card with you :).

I stamped the peony cluster on watercolor paper and colored it with watercolor markers. I blended a light blue background around the peonies and stamped the message with stamps from the Scripty Thoughts stamp set. It takes a bit of time to watercolor the image, but the result is really nice :).

I used the stamp sets Peony Cluster and Scripty Thoughts.

I hope you're inspired to create!

Dragonfly Dreams

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!
Ceal here, to share a couple cards with you featuring Dragonfly Dreams from our February release.  I love how the wings on the dragonfly are so realistic.

To create the card above I started with a white top folding card base, a white panel and a purple panel. I randomly stampd the dragonflies masking them off as I stamped them in Wild Lilac, Lovely Lavender and Sea Glass. On the two larger ones I embossed the bodies in Lilac Shimmer and Under the Sea embossing glitters by WOW embossing. The sentiment is from the Sentimental Wordfetti set.

The card below uses the same Dragonfly Dreams set but this time I gave the card a little more mixed media look. I started with a white top folding card base, a purple panel for a mat and a white panel for the focal panel.
I stamped the parge dragonfly and then masked it off and randomly stamped portions of the Psalm 23 Background in a light purple and then added some texture in a darker purple using the Texture Tiles 2 set.  Next I used a stencil to create the flourish background. I added a second set of smaller wings and embossing them with Lilac Shimmer embossing powder. To finish the card I added some epoxy drops to the body and the sentiment from the Scripty Thoughts set.

Birthday Borders

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy Stampers!
It's Ceal, here today to share a couple cards with you using the Birthday Borders set. This set isn't just for birthdays I have made Valentine cards with it and now a retirement card.

To create the first card I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel. I stamped the cupcakes from the Birthday Borders set, colored them using Copic markers and then masked them off to create the background around them. The sentiment on this card is from the Scripty Thoughts set.

The second card I created a retirement card using the Birthday Borders set. I started with a white top folding card base, a panel of Black Onyx for the mat and a white panel.

I randomly stamped the confetti image from the Birthday Borders set using my favorite embossing ink and white embossing powder and then created a rainbow background with the Life Changing Blender Brushes. I added a sentiment from the Sentimental Mash-up set along with some die cut balloons to finish the card.

June Challenge - Get Beachy!

Hi Friends!

Today I have some mer-mazingly adorable projects using the new Mer-mazing set. It is seriously so much fun and I can't stop coloring these beach themed cuties! For fun, I created a challenge at Sweet N Sassy's VIP Facebook Group with a video tutorial. If you are not a member of this group, you should join - it is so much fun and chock full of inspiration
and encouragement!

All my projects use the scene building technique from the tutorial but they all use a different medium... Use what you have, it is easy and fun!

My first project uses the beach scene technique with color pencils and the sentiment is built using the Scripty Thoughts set

My Second project uses Copics to build my scene.

My Third project uses Distress Oxides and white acrylic paint to build my scene and Copics to color the images. I used Texture Tiles 1 to create the texture in sand.

Recipe :
  • Paper – Canson Watercolor card stock (for color pencils), Strathmore Bristol Smooth (for Distess Oxides), Xpress It (For Copics)
  • Image – Mer-mazing set
  • Sentiments (not from Mer-mazing set) are from Scripty Thoughts set
  • Ink – Polychromos Color Pencils, and Distress Oxides, And Copics
  • Ink for Sentiment - Versafine Onyx Black

Masculine

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy Stampers!
It's Ceal,  Here to share another card using our Wood Backgrounds stamp set.
Masculine cards can be very hard to make and this set makes it much easier.
To create my card I started with a white top folding white card base and a white panel cut down a quarter of an inch smaller. I stamped the tree ring from the Wood Backgrounds set (which by the way is the stamp of the month you can earn free with a $75 order now through Dec 31st) in Versamark ink and embossed it with clear powder.  I used some Gathered Twigs distress oxide ik ad blended it over the tree ring. I stamped the trees from the Thrill of Hope set in Green and the went over them with Pine Needles oxide ink and fussy cut them out. The deer is from the Tender Thoughts set which is an older set that makes a great guy card. To finish the card I added the greeting from The Scripty Thoughts set.

Happy birthday!

Hello everyone! Today I want to share this birthday card with you.

I used the Brotherly Love stamp set to create the image on the card. There are so many options! I love to fiddle around with the images and create a lot of different results. I stamped the image on marker paper and colored it with alcohol markers.

I cut out the image and die-cut a frame in my patterned paper. I made a tag and stamped 'happy birthday' on it with black ink. I die-cut the edge of the tag to match the circle in my patterned paper. I distressed the edges of the card and papers with a blue ink to tie it all together. And instead of my regular sequins I decided to use wooden buttons to finish the card. I thought this would give it a more masculine look than the sequins :).

Be a Flamingo

Hi everyone, Stephanie here with 2 cards for you using one of our New Release sets for June.  I so LOVE this set called Be A Flamingo - OMGosh, so cute and versatile!  I used Memento Ink to stamp with and the paper is from DCWV.
On this next card I am using Be A Flamingo again along with Party Pals, Scripty Thoughts and I used one of the stamps from Texture Tiles 2 (which is the stamp of the month for June, Free with $75 purchase) to make the ground under the flamingo.  I intended it to look like a dock but hubby says it doesn't!   I colored with Copics and the paper is Fandango by Craft Smith, I found it at Hobby Lobby.
