Peony Cluster

{jane bosi} Hello, Friends!! Today, I am sharing several projects featuring Peony Cluster--the Stamp of the Month.  I'm also sharing my heart and a prayer journal I'm working in.  I'm glad that you've stopped by today!!

How grateful I am that the Lord is near to me when I am brokenhearted!  My heart breaks over a lot of things.  Sometimes, it's things in my own life and other times, it is broken over the children I serve in my day job or other stories in the world around me.

His Word, in Psalm 34, reminds us that He is near to us all the time, especially in our brokenness; when our spirit is crushed, when we feel cut off, when we are in pieces, and when we are hurt or torn--both in body and in spirit.  The word used in this verse--"near"-- is the Hebrew word qarowb (ka.rove').  It is used to describe place, time and relationship.  How awesome that we see very clearly that we are never alone?  Never.  He is close by.  He is right now!  We can have a personal relationship with the One who is Creator of all!!  He loves you deeply, wholly, eternally, personally!  Rest in that oh, weary souls!

I picked up this super cool prayer journal at a thrift store for a few dollars. I can't tell you what a treasure I have found this to be!! It's called The Weekly Prayer Project:  A Challenge to Journal, Pray, Reflect and Connect with God.

I used a variety of stamp sets and inks.  It rather evolved as I went along.  Stamp sets used:  Peony ClusterJesus & CoffeeGod Is Bigger, and Sunshine Girl Alphabet.  So much wisdom in all of God's Word (obviously!) but I am continually struck and grateful when He places, in front of me, the exact Word I need in the most unexpected and ordinary ways.  When you look, you will see God's hand in everything!

Be Blessed! Jane

Praying Through

Hello everyone!  Cathy here to share a card I made for a man at our church who just suffered a stroke.  I'm hoping this card will bring encouragement to him and his wife.  Since I'm hosting the Sketch Challenge today over at Splitcoaststampers, SC541 was used for the design of my card.

This sailboat image from The Sea clear stamp set is perfect for masculine cards and was stamped on watercolor paper using a waterproof ink...Versafine Onyx Black.  The edges were taped down to a cutting board creating a frame around the image.   Kuretake watercolors were brushed onto the dampened paper.  The panel was propped at an angle and enough water was added to the ocean allowing the color to drip down the image, stopping at the taped edge.  Each layer of color was air dried before the next color was added.  The same method was used to apply the colors to the sky, but the panel was left flat to dry, eliminating the drips.  When completely dry, the sentiment from the God is Bigger stamp set was added along with a few black pearls.

Here are the beautiful stamp sets and dies from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store
that were used to create this card:

Thanks so much for stopping by…hope you've been inspired by your visit!
Be sure to stop back again on Friday for a new Friday Feature!
Have a wonderfully blessed day!

butterfly thoughts and buggy get well wishes

Hello and happy Saturday!  It was a cold week but that didn't stop me from stamping some warm greetings.  Butterflies are cheery and I am smitten with the one in the Parisian Postcard stamp set!  The images all go together so nicely and are wonderful to collage.  Here are 2 quick and simple, black & white cards with just a pop of color.

The butterflies and sentiment on the first one are popped with dimensionals.  I also used an image from Grunge Elements to "distress" the panel.

I stamped the flowers repeatedly on a panel for the second card, then offset it when it was adhered.  The sentiment is from God Is Bigger.

The tips of the butterflies' wings were rolled on the green inkpad to add more color...but you could easily use markers to do the same.

I have one more card to share today...this one was made with my Get Well Critters stamp set which is part of this month's Sweet Perks Club...just released!

Have a great weekend!
♥ Diane

God has your back...

Hello! It's Monika here, bringing you today's project.

October is National Breast Cancer awareness month, so I decided to make something with pink. I've been blessed with good health and personally, I don't have any close friends or family members with breast cancer, nor have I lost anyone close to me with cancer. But it is out there and it's effecting people around us.

This card could also be used as a simple encouragement card for any occasion.

I was looking for small flowers, so I picked Long Stem Silhouettes stamp set.

I stamped the flower image with pink ink 3 times, cut the small flowers out, and curled them with a Stylus. Then I just arranged them in a cluster, around the banner.

The greeting was stamped on a banner with a slight curve. Clear stamp can be bent, especially if it's a really thin strip. So I bent the greeting to follow the curve of the banner. The greeting came from God Is Bigger stamp set.

I hope I have inspired you to make something today...

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Texture in Nature

Hello everyone!  Happy Sunday!  The other evening I drove to church in a drenching rain, but the sun was shining, so naturally when I arrived, I looked for a rainbow.  I wasn't disappointed!  Though faint, it was still there.  After church, I came out to see the most gorgeous sky…the different blend of blues and pinks, including the most beautiful turquoise color, was amazing.  I had to stop and thank the Lord for creating such beauty for us to enjoy!  This prompted me to grab some of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Nature Silhouette sets and do some creating of my own.

The background for the first card was made by wadding up a piece of wax paper and using it to dap VersaMark ink on a piece of mixed media paper.  This was clear embossed.  The panel was then dragged through puddles of distress inks on my craft sheet.  Another piece of paper was used to dab up the remaining ink on the craft sheet to create the panel behind the Cattails die cut.  The embossing was ironed off to remove the glossy look and to allow the sentiment from the Script Birthdays set to be stamped on the card.  Texture paste was added to the fishtail banner through a TH Burlap stencil.  Some jute thread and a button were added to finish the card.

The same background techniques were used for this card.  Water was spritzed through a dotted stencil to remove some of the ink on the large background.  This was overstamped using the same colors of distress inks on the Delightfully Delicate Background.  A stencil and modeling paste were used to add the butterfly.  The embossing on the smaller panel was again ironed off so the Nature Silhouette image could be stamped.  Globs of hot glue, inspired by Karen Dunbrook, were added for more texture.  The sentiment is from the God is Bigger stamp set.  Felt and burlap flags and a button finish the card.

Hope these cards have inspired you to add a little texture to your card creations, and while you are at it, take some time to enjoy the colors and textures in nature…God's gorgeous creation!

Thanks so much for stopping by…enjoy your day!
Hugs,
Cathymac

God has your back - shaker card...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a butterfly shaker card. I am (still) in love with shaker cards, and they are really easy to make.
I used New Beginnings clear stamp set and the coordinating New Beginnings Butterfly die set as my focal point, along with the shaker element.

The background (water-color paper) was stamped with Typewriter Text clear stamp using VersaMark ink, then it was heat embossed with white embossing powder. Next, using gold metallic acrylic paint (Ranger) and water, I painted over the heat embossed background, and I splashed the same ink on top with a small brush.

Next I die-cut a 2-1/4" circle with a Spellbinder die. Then I positioned the background sheet onto my white base card along with the die-cut circle, lifted the background piece off (leaving the circle), and using the die-cut circle as my guide, I adhered dimensional tape around the circle.

Before filling the circle with sequins and micro beads, take the protective sheet off of the dimensional tape strips. Otherwise the beads might end up all over the place while you are working on taking the top sheet off...
Add some more dimensional tape onto the back side of the water-colored background panel and adhere it to the base card.

The front was decorated with a border that I die-cut with Doily Border Dies, a die-cut leaf branch, pink thread, and rhinestones. The greeting is from God is Bigger clear stamp set.
My color inspiration came from Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

Thanks for stopping by today.
Hopefully I have inspired you to make something creative today...

Mid Winter Shape Up

Hello Everyone!
We have made it half way through February and I have to believe that spring is right around the corner!  That said, these cold winter days do make good crafting days!
I have 3 cards to share with you today~

I used the very versatile Shape Up Stamp Set for this masculine and very mailable birthday card.  The shape was stamped in a repeating pattern to create my background.  The sentiment panel uses a technique I do not use enough- stamping a sentiment over an image. I used a stamp from the Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set and using kraft ink, stamped off once and then stamped onto my card stock.  I added the sentiment and drew a line around the panel with a fine tip marker.  I have been hoarding this ribbon for quite some time, but this seemed the perfect card to use it on.

This next card uses another image from Shape Up and also uses its coordinating die.

I also used the  Bloom and Grow set as well as the Delightfully Delicate Background.  I stamped my three hexagons and die cut them out.  The flower was stamped and fussy cut out and I used the Small Leaves Die for the leaves (well, I guess that was obvious!).  My background panel was stamped in red on kraft card stock using the Delightfully Delicate Background image.  I added a decorative edge using the Scalloped Border Dies.

Lastly, I have a cheery card made with the Keep in Touch Stamp Set~

Washi tape is the main ingredient on this card.  I added diagonal strips of 4 different tapes to a panel of white cs and popped it up on dimensionals.  The rest of the background is dry embossed.  I curved the sentiment stamp to be able to stamp it around the inside edge of my circle.  The phone was die cut out with its matching die and popped up on dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a blessed week!

Ok, onto some sharing!  Have I mentioned that our NEWEST clear stamp set, God Is Bigger, is one of my faves?  This is such and AMAZING set!! So, many great ways to utilize this set!  The first card I mae, combines the Majestic Monarch's Clear Stamp Set, the new Monarch Dies, AND the God Is Bigger Clear Stamps Set!  I layered Bazzill Pear and GP White cardstock, added my Copic colored butterflies, then finished it off with some rhinestones and sentiments!!

My second card features the SNSS God Is Bigger Clear Stamp Set and SNSS Baby's Circus Clear Stamp Set!  Have to admit that animal sets are a favorite of mine too!!  The animals could create a masculine OR feminine card!!  When I created this one, I took some scraps of DSP I had and layered it onto some PTI Chocolate and PTI Blue cardstock.  I just cut my base pieces out in a square shape with  my paper cutter.  Then I stamped my cute lion with Tuxedo Memento ink, colored him in with my copics, and cut him out with my circle Spellbinders.  I stamped the Be Strong onto GP white and punched it out with  my SU label punches.  After all the sentiments were stamped with Chocolate Colorbox ink, completed my creation with some Hemp twine and brown rhinestones!

Hope you enjoyed my sharing and thanks for joining me today!  Stop back tomorrow, for there is LOTS more fun to be shared!!  I hope you all have an AMAZING Monday!!

Blessings,

Jacquie Peifer/Javablustamper
