His Wings

Hello! It's Monika here today, with a collage card.
I had been wanting to make a card with different window panels so the other day I set down with a number of stamp set, and a "window" frame... and got inky.

The background was made with Nuance pigment powders I picked up at a stamp show couple of weeks ago. There are couple of different companies offering pigment powders... and I decided to go with them.

After stamping the small landscape image from Creative Worship: Good Shepherd clear stamp set, I used PrismaColor Pencils to add some shading. The silhouette images came from Forest Silhouettes and Nature Silhouettes 2 clear stamp sets. The words are from Good Shepherd and Creative Worship: His Wings clear stamp sets... I also used couple of dies from Forest Silhouettes die set.
The feathers from His Wings clear stamp set were stamped on vellum with VersaMark, heat embossed with white embossing powder, then cut out.

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

serene scene

Good morning!  We are using some of the SNSS masculine sets this week for some inspiration for Father's Day next month.  Today I used the Forest Silhouettes and Serene Silhouettes sets, along with the Bare Tree die on my card.

First I masked the hill and sponged the sun with a punched circle.  Then I sponged the sky and grass, followed by the water.  Everything was stamped with navy ink except the grass, which was stamped in green using the tips of the tree branches.  The large tree was diecut with navy cardstock.

Thanks for popping in and… happy stamping!

Diane

Happy Birthday, deer.

Good afternoon!

Jessica here with a masculine card that I made using a couple of SNSS dies: Forest Silhouettes and tall grass.  The sentiment is from the Forest Silhouettes stamp set.  I die cut the grass out of vellum and then embossed it on the card front for added texture.

Hope this CAS card gives you an idea for a card for those guys in our lives who love hunting and nature!

Have a great weekend!
Jessica

Birthday Mum

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are enjoying all of the fall inspiration that the Design Team has been sharing.  I love all things fall, so why I decided to make something other than a fall card is beyond me!  I chose to 'repurpose' one of the new sets, Autumn Mum Greetings, and use it for a birthday card in bright and bold colors instead of fall colors.

This is such a gorgeous flower that I could not resist coloring it in a bold pink.  I masked the image multiple times to create the corner bouquet.  I colored the main flower using Copics for the petals and a black Sharpie for the leaves.  Once I finished coloring, I masked the flower and sponged around the card edges with black ink.  I have never sponged with black ink before and I think there is a bit of a learning curve, but I still like the results.  The sentiment is from the Forest Silhouettes Stamp Set; it is stamped in Versamark and embossed in white.  I added sequins for a bit of shimmer and shine.
Now I cannot take credit for this technique.  The talented Deepti, who some of you may know from the blogging world, described this technique, which is called the Focal Black and White technique; she has lifted it straight from the world of photography!
That is it for me today; I hope you give this technique a try and I hope you try to 'repurpose' one of your Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Hugs!

Many Thanks.........

Hello friends!  Jacquie here to share with you!  I thought I would share one of my FAVE September Release creations!

I used the Forest Silhouettes Clear Stamp Set and the matching Forest Silhouettes Die Set for this project.  These are a GREAT pair, as they really make card making simple.  I stamped my trees with Versafine black ink, made a little snow with a sponge of Danube Blue Memento ink, and finished off my base with a little clear Stickles.  Have to have some sparkle for the snow, on the ground and the trees!

Once all that was ready, I stamped my bird in Black Versafine, cut it out with the matching die, popped it up with foam tape, and added my sentiment.  Lastly I added a silver ribbon and voila!  A simple thank you card for a guy or a girl!

Hope you enjoyed my creation!  I look forward to seeing what you all create with our NEW September Release stamps and dies!

Have a WONDERFUL day!

Leaves and Forest Silhouettes~

Good morning everyone! Mary here to share some leafy inspiration! Korin recently released some amazing new dies for current sets available in the store.

My first card is using the leaf silhouettes and newly released matching leaf silhouette dies! I layered these squares onto the leaf skeleton background that is perfect for quick colourful and textured coverage.

The second card is using the falling leaves stamp set with the Forest silhouette dies! I love the look of these images against the sponged background. For the "floor" I sprinkled some stampendous embossing fragments, tinsel and powders and melted them all together. I adhered the deer to the floor with the leaves falling gently. So serene.

Have a wonderful Day!

Materials used:
stamps: Falling leaves, Skeleton leaf BG, Leaf silhouettes

Silhouette Birthday

What a fabulous surprise I received recently when asked if I would be interested in Guest Designing for Sweet 'n Sassy during the month of June.  Of course, I replied immediately and accepted the invitation!  I love creating with Sweet 'n Sassy stamps.

I have been a customer of Sweet 'n Sassy for a long time.  The quality, design and customer service provided by Korin with Sweet 'n Sassy is top notch!

Today I'm sharing a very clean and simple design using "Forest Silhouettes".  I love how the Sweet 'n Sassy Silhouette stamps make creating so fun and easy.

The sponged background was created by using a square Spellbinders nestibilities die cut as a mask.  After sponging with Memento inks I stamped the silhouette images with Versafine ink.  Since I mail most of my cards to family and friends out of state I keep the embellishments to a minimum for ease of postage.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share with you.  I hope this has inspired you to pull out your silhouette stamps and play along.  You will find a whole category of silhouette stamps over at the Sweet 'n Sassy store.

A Little Glitz and Glitter

Hello friends!  I just LOVE Christmas...love the decorations, the carols, the family get-togethers, the special church services!  I LOVE driving around at night looking at all sparkly lights!  I LOVE the glitz and the glitter!  Glitter and glitz also looks great on cards, so that is my challenge today for the "Ways To Use It" challenge over at Splitcoaststampers...add glitter or glitz to your card creation.  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has many wonderful Christmas sets that are perfect for adding a little sparkle, but I chose to use a set that is not really considered a Christmas set for my sample.

The tag on my card was created using the Forest Silhouettes Clear Stamp Set.  When paired with papers from the Turtle Dove Paper Pad by KaiserCraft and some snowflake embossing, a wonderful wintery Christmas scene was created.  The layout for the card is this week's sketch at The Sweet Stop.  Stickles was added to the trees and snowdrifts and Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint was splattered over the entire card with a toothbrush.  Although it is hard to see in the photo, this card really sparkles.

With only five days left until Christmas, I'm sure everyone is frantically finishing up the shopping, the gift wrapping, and the last minute card making.  Let's not forget the thing I LOVE most about Christmas...celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior!  After all He is the reason for the season!

May the love of Jesus fill your hearts and home this Christmas!

Hugs,
Cathy

Wishing You a Season of .........

Happy Saturday everyone!  This will be my last time to post here as my time of being on the Sweet 'n Sassy Design Team is coming to a close at the end of October.  Boy - that 6 months time really passed by quickly!   I have enjoyed working with the rest of the Design team and Korin's lovely stamps.  I hope you have been inspired by my creations during my tenure here!

So, on with my card for today!  We are rapidly moving towards the season of Thanks so I created a fall color Thanksgiving card to share.  I love these 3 sentiments - they pretty much sum up all the things we have to be thankful for!
I used stamps from two Sweet 'n Sassy sets for my card - the tree is from Forest Silhouettes and the sentiments are from Autumn Bounty. I used this week's Split Coast Stampers sketch for my card.

First I stamped the images on a piece of patterned paper and then embossed it. Then I adhered all of the panels of patterned paper to the kraft card base and embossed that.  (Embossing actually shortened my card by 1/2" (!) so I had to cut a piece off of the back of the card.)  I tied the wrinkled seam tape around the card and then adhered the stamped panel over it with foam tape.  To accent the sentiment I added some tiny twinkles between the words and called it done!

I hope you have a wonderful fall weekend and thank you for spending some of your creative time stopping by here today!

Happy Stamping!

Julia Aston
