Pretty Potted Florals and an Instagram Hop

Hi Sweet 'n Sassy friends! It's Julee. Instead of our usual mid-month Blog Hop, today we're putting on our first Instagram Hop! Be sure to head on over to Instagram and leave some comments for the designers for a chance to win a $25 gift code to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps online shop. The beginning of the hop and all the details can be found on our Instagram page:  https://www.instagram.com/sweetnsassystamps/

Along the hop, we're playing with a something old, something new theme. I am sharing a card which features one of my very first Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps purchases, Thoughtful Words, and my newest purchase... Pretty Potted Florals.  Both of these sets are illustrated by NinaB Designs and all of her sets are on sale this week!

I started by stamping one of the potted flowers in Versafine Clair ink and then coloring with Zig Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a blender pen. I then stamped just the flower portion again and colored just the inner flower and fussy cut to pop up for some dimension on the stamped image.

The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Words set, and I stamped onto a circle that I stenciled with the Delightfully Delicate Stencil and salvaged patina distress ink.  Some patterned papers from my stash finished things off.

While I was at it, I decided to make another card with Pretty Potted Florals.  This time I attempted  watercoloring with watercolor pans.  I'm a little out of practice and was way too heavy with my paints, so ended up blending out with watercolor markers, then adding some Copic highlights to add some depth.  I fussy cut the image and placed onto a panel I had used to wipe up some salvaged patina ink, then finished off with a sentiment from one of my all-time favorite sentiment sets... My Thoughts of You.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check out this week's sale and I hope you'll join us over on Instagram for the hop!

I wanted to share some cards I made as a gift for my momma this Christmas.  The set features four cards using several of my most favorite floral sets in the SNSS store!
Happy Irises, Thoughtful Words
Delightful Daisies, Happy Day
Spring Blossoms, Lots of Love
Rose Banner

I pray that your day is blessed with peace, and that no matter what is happening in your space, that you are growing nearer to our Great God--Jane

Singing Praises

Happy Monday, Sweet 'n Sassy Stampers!
It's Ceal here to share with you today a couple cards using the Singing Praises set with two different looks.

The first card I stamped the image with embossing ink and watercolored it with Zig watercolor markers. I stamped the Wood slice from the Wood Backgrounds set as the background. The greeting is from the Thoughtful Words set.

The second card uses the same set Singing Praises but this time I created a fall card with it. I stamped the bird and masked off the branch and then stamped the leaves from the Give Thanks set. I colored them all with Copic markers. The greeting is from the Incredibly Blessed set.

Hello Friends, I have a "springy" card for you today using Genuine Love and Thoughtful Words.  I wanted to make a little wreath so I just took my circle die and traced the inside with a light pencil line and stamped the flowers and greenery on top .  I just love these colors, ink is from Memento and papers are from DCWV.
If you place a $75 order you will receive Doodle Florals FREE!  It is such a fun and versatile set!  As always you get FREE SHIPPING with a $75 order.

Genuine Love galore

Hello! It's Monika here today showcasing Genuine Love clear stamp set. I love flowers, I love grungy... so this sweet stamp set is just perfect for me!

My first card is a sweet feel better card, using most of the flowers from the set to make the border. It's really easy to make, as the images work well stamped over each other and clustered... I used Tim Holtz distress and distress oxide inks.

The greeting is from Thoughtful Words clear stamp set. It's stamped with VersaMark Ink then it was heat embossed with white embossing powder.

If you know me, you know I LOVE shaker cards! Here is a tulle shaker card!
Instead of acetate, I used a piece of tulle to hold the sequins inside of the circle. So, so pretty! It's more affordable then some of the fancy window sheets and it's pretty flat. The tulle allows the sequins to move around without having to use dimensional tape.

The background was stamped with all the tiny images from the set... it's nice that you can use these images in different ways.
The greeting is from Keep in Touch Too clear stamp set.

...and lastly, my card from the March Release After Party Blog Hop (if you missed it, it's not too late to check it out!).

... I love adding little details to my cards... flower clusters and rhinestones!

On this card, I used Texture Tiles 3 and Made New stamp sets along with Genuine Love.

I hope I have inspired you to craft today!

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

Filigree Hearts

Hello! It's Monika here today with couple SWEET cards. Have you seen the clear stamp sets from the January release? So much LOVE!

I decided to use the pretty hearts from Filigree Hearts clear stamp set on couple of non-Valentine's Day cards. I don't send out cards for this occasion, but I can always use friendship and thank you cards.

On my first card, I heat embossed some of the hearts with white embossing powder (using VersaMark ink), then sponged Abandoned Coral Tim Holtz distress ink over it... creating an amazing background.
The greeting is from Thoughtful Words clear stamp set. The first part of the greeting is heat embossed with clear embossing powder (using the same coral ink from before).

The felt flower was the perfect embellishment to this SWEET card.

For my second card, I stamped one of the hearts with Onyx Black Versafine ink then colored it with Kuretake Gansai Tambi water color and Reese Brea shimmer paint.
The background image is from Wood Backgrounds clear stamp set and the greeting is from Keep in Touch Too clear stamp set.

I hope I have inspired you to craft today!

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

In Stitches Alpha

Hello! It's Monika here today with couple of shimmery cards.

I took a momentarily break from holiday cards, and made a Valentine's Day card... although you could use this all year around.

It's really hard to see, but the stitched words (In Stitches Alpha clear stamp set) and the llama (Llama Love clear stamp set) are painted with pink and brown Reese Brea shimmer paint. I've been enjoying this paint a lot lately... I used water color card stock. Stamped the images with Onyx Black VersaFine ink, then I just colored the images using an aqua painter brush.

My second card was made with the same Brea Reese shimmer paint, but using only blue. It was super easy to apply it onto the water color card stock, and made an amazing looking background.

I stamped the nativity and the star images from O Holy Night clear stamp set and the greeting from Thoughtful Words clear stamp set on the panel with Onyx Black VersaFine ink.

Those 'white' looking specs are the shimmer particles in the paint! Gorgeous in real life!

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

Crazy About Snowmen!

Hello! It's Monika here today with couple of snowmen cards using Crazy About Snowmen clear stamp set! To celebrate Sweet n' Sassy Stamps' 11th birthday, we have a throwback stamp set full of SNOWMEN from the past! How sweet is that?!

My first card is a SHAKER!I just love making shaker cards, and they are not hard to make!
I started by stamping snowflakes all over the blue card stock. Then I splashed white paint onto the panel to add more dept to the card. I stamped the greeting with Onyx Black VersaFine ink.
Next I stamped the sweet snowmen images (for both cards) with Onyx Black VersaFine ink, and colored them with Kuretake Gansai Tambi water colors before cutting them out.

To make my shaker, I cut a slightly smaller rectangle than the blue panel out of white fun foam. Then I cut a circle out of the blue panel and also out of the fun foam. (I set the blue circle aside for the next project!) I also cut an extra circle out of white card stock, sponged it with various blue inks, then stamped the tree and moon images from Thrill of Hope clear stamp set with Onyx Black VersaFine ink.
Next I adhered the fun foam and the stamped circle onto a white base card. I adhered a piece of window sheet to the back side of the blue panel (covering the circle window opening). Then I covered the fun foam rectangle with double sided tape and glue and carefully filled the circle (in the fun foam) with micro beads and sequins. To finish the shaker, I adhered the blue panel onto the card.
To decorated the front of the card, I adhered white thread, the snowman (with dimensional tape) and  silver rhinestones.

I turned my second card into an anniversary card. Those snowmen are just so adorable and perfect holding a heart! I used the leftover circle from the shaker as the background! Easy and economical! LOL! The greeting was stamped with Onyx Black VersaFine ink from Thoughtful Words clear stamp set (my new favorite sentiment set!).

Happy Stamping!
