Let Us Rejoice

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!
It's Ceal, here. Today I am sharing a Christmas card made with the Let Us Rejoice set. This set is so adorable and easy to create a scene card with.

To create this card I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel. On the white panel I ink blended some distress inks in Prize Ribbon, Wilted Violet and Villainous Potion to create a night sky.
I stamped the barn from the Down on the Farm set, colored it with OLO markers and cut it out with the Coordinating die set.
Next I stamped the shepherd and the sheep from the Let Us Rejoice set, colored them with OLO markers and cut them out with the coordinating die set.
I cut some Kraft cardstock for the desert and than to finish the card I added the star and the sentiment which is embossed with white powder.

Merry Christmas Eve!

I finished up my tiered tray and some last minute Christmas gifts and I am so happy with the results!

First I created a block using We Three Kings. I think this set is one of my all time favorites. I bring it out every year for a new project. I cut the block from a 1x4 and used chalk paints to create the background and stazon black for the image. This is a simple block but it is so awesome on my tray!

My second project is a stack of "Christmas" books I made for my sister, mom, and I. I love, love, love them!

I used 1x3 blocks cut to 4 inches, round the edges on one side, painted them with chalk paint, and stamped the "Titles" with Bitty Minnie Alphas. I glued them together with hot glue, tied a ribbon around them, and topped them with a cute tree I painted specifically to go with them.

The biggest decision was the order to stack them. These were the choices...

This is the finally result.

Joy, Peace, and Belief in the blessing of Christmas...I hope all of this for you this Christmas. I pray for those of you who have had a difficult time this year and pray you will be blessed and inspired by this fun and simple project. Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas sweet friends!!

Adore Him!

I am not sure about you guys but Christmas stuff is popping up everywhere around me - It is 93 degrees here in Georgia so it is a little hard to get into the Christmas spirit, but this new set from Sweet N Sassy surely has done it! It is called Adore Him. It is so precious. It has so many different elements in the Christmas Story that I have lots of ideas running through my mind.

Today's images were colored with Polychromos pencils. They take a little while to build up the color, but the end result is great!

My first card uses Distress Oxides to create a night time sky.  I used Wood Backgrounds to create "wood pieces" for the "manger" and the colored the baby , fussy cut it, and popped it up on fun foam. I used the sentiment from an older set called Peace on Earth (retired) And that is all there is too this one - clean and simple but not really, right?

SNSS OCome copy

My second card uses The Three Wise Men. This one is very  clean and simple. I colored them, fussy cut them, and glued them onto a white card. I rounded the corners for a little added interest. For this one, I used a sentiment from We Three Kings - I love this sentiment!

These were so much fun! I hope you are inspired to get your Christmas cards started. It will actually be here before you know it!

For this card I pulled out two of my favorite Christmas sets, O Holy Night and We Three Kings. I thought the star of wonder sentiment would pair so beautifully with the nativity image.

I first sponged peacock feathers distress oxide on a piece of cardstock, then embossed the nativity silhouette in white over the top of it.  I cut this with a circle die and then matted with thin foam for some dimension.

I decided to follow the current Mojo Monday sketch for the layout, so stamped and embossed the star of wonder sentiment from We Three Kings in the upper corner of my card panel.  Next I masked off a section and blended with peacock feathers and broken china ink. I added some of the teeny star images from O Holy Night in white pigment ink for some texture.

Next I cut a horizontal strip of black cardstock and then a slightly smaller one of  white and embossed it with the silent night sentiment.  I finished off with a bit of washi tape at the bottom for accent and a star rhinestone embellishment from my stash.

That's all the creative details on this card! Next stop on the hop is my blog, Poetic Artistry where I'm treating you to another Christmas creation.

In other news, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is celebrating hitting 10,000 likes on their company page on Facebook. If you haven't already, be sure to head over there for a SERIOUSLY awesome giveaway!

Wise Men and All the Things

Hi Sweet 'n Sassy friends! Today I'm sharing a couple of Christmas cards using some old and new favorites. This is such a busy time of year, and all the things can sometimes overshadow the reason for the season. So for today's post I chose to focus on cards that shift the focus back on the true gift of Christmas.

Wise Men still seek him card by Julee Tilman using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

We Three Kings stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
First up, is this "almost" one layer card using the beautiful and timeless We Three Kings stamp set. I have loved this set from afar for many years and am so happy to have it in my hands now! To start the background, I did a bit of ink blending with evergreen bough, salty ocean and chipped sapphire distress oxides. I then stamped the wise men  and the star image in versamark ink and embossed in white.

Next I free hand cut a snowy bank from white paper, then embossed the sntiment in silver.  A bit of ink sponged along the edge gives some dimension and I finished with a silver bow.

For the next card, I started with this darling tree from the Christmas Topiaries set (50% off in the shop right now!). I colored in with Copic markers and then fussy cut.  I tucked a circle that I blended some spun sugar and warm lipstick distress oxides onto for a little glow.  The sentiments are both from the Jesus + Coffee set and I embossed them in silver. I finished off this sweet little square card with some Holly Jolly Christmas papers from Bella Blvd.

Christmas Botanicals

Hi friends, it's new design team member, Julee Tilman, here! Today I'm super excited to be sharing a couple of cards featuring the beautiful Christmas Botanicals  set for my first official design team post on the blog. All month long we're celebrating SNSS's 11th birthday with weekly specials and design team features on stamp sets from through the years.

A couple of my picks to feature this month are the beautiful Christmas Botanicals set and the We Three Kings set. These both have beautiful traditional Christmas imagery and the sentiments in We Three Kings really speak the true spirit of the season. I've also paired these with one of my favorite background sets ever, Texture Tiles 1.

I started this first card by stamping the two flower images from Christmas Botanicals in tuxedo black Memento ink and then coloring with Copic markers. I fussy cut the images and then accented with a crystal clear lacquer pen and a sprinkling of glitter.

The music background paper from the Old World Winter pack I've been working through seemed like the perfect backdrop, so I sponged with a big of antique linen and gathered twigs distress ink. Then I cut a couple flourish corner die cuts from brown cardstock for accent.

For the sentiment panel, I started with one of my favorite SNSS stamps, the script background from the Texture Tiles 1 set, stamped in antique linen across the paper. Next I stamped the We Three Kings sentiment using Versafine Clair ink and clear embossing powder.  The final touch was to layer everything together and add to a regular A2 sized card base.

My second card using Christmas Botanicals has a very traditional Christmas vibe to it. I colored the poinsettia and an extra leaf and berry sprig with Copic markers and fussy cut, then accented the berries with some clear glass glitter.  The greenery is cut with the Mini Holiday Greens die from Sizzix. I stamped the sentiment panel with the music background from the Textured Tiles 1 stamp set and then embossed the sentiment in the middle. All of the papers are from the Old World Winter collection from The Paper Studio.

Here's a look at the stamp sets I featured today...

wood slice ornaments

Good morning!

Today I am sharing some wood slice ornaments. Here I used my Holiday Hugs and Poinsettias & Candles stamp sets along with We Three Kings.

The ornaments were stamped with Archival ink and watercolored with Inktense pencils. The first two are from Poinsettias & Candles and We Three Kings.  I added some Wink of Stella to the star, base, and flames on the first one and a tiny rhinestone to the star on the wise men one.

The back side of the first two...

The third and fourth use Poinsettias & Candles and Holiday Hugs. More Wink of Stella on the flower centers and snow angel wings.

The back side of the third and fourth...

Have a great day!

Wise Men

Hello, Sweet 'n Sassy Stampers!
It's Ceal, here to share with you today.  I am featuring one of my favorite Christmas sets of ours We Three Kings. I love this silhouette of the wise men traveling to see the newborn king.
This is a set you can have so much fun creating backgrounds for with distress inks, distress oxide ink and of course alcohol inks like I used for mine.
To create the card I started with a side folding white note card and a piece of yupo paper for the background. I used several different shades of blue alcohol re inkers and dropped drops of them randomly on the yupo paper and then dropped drops of rubbing alcohol on top of them and just let them spread. After I achieved the look I was happy with I cut it out with an oval stitched die. Using the Misti stamping tool, I stamped the image from the We Three Kings set several times to get a good dark image and then used the ScanNCut to cut it out.
To finish the card I added it to the oval background and added the greeting underneath.

We Three Kings

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here and today I am sharing a quick Mixed Media Christmas card using We Three Kings (designed by Korin Sutherland).

I love the images and sentiments in this set- they are perfect for Christmas cards that reflect the true meaning of Christmas!

To create this card, die cut a circle from white cardstock and apply three different distress oxide inks to the background for the sky.

Ink the main image from We Three Kings with archival black ink, stamp onto the ink blended circle, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the powder has cooled, dilute a bit of white acrylic paint with water and splatter onto the top of the circle with a paint brush and mount onto a black cardstock circle die cut.

Stamp and heat emboss the sentiment from We Three Kings (in the same manner as above) onto white cardstock, create the fishtail banner either with a punch (or by hand) and mount onto black cardstock.

Layer a piece of embossed white cardstock onto a black card front, add a split metallic snowflake doily directly to the card front and mount the focal image along with the sentiment using dimensional foam.

Add a rhinestone to the center of the star to finish off the card.

Christmas is fast approaching- have you started making your cards yet?  If not, the We Three Kings stamp set is perfect for quick, easy cards that your family and friends will love!

Thanks for taking the time to visit us today - hugs and God Bless, sweet friends!

JOY

Hi there, Sweet 'n Sassy Friends!
It's Ceal, here to share a card with you today. I have had this card made for a while and I kept putting this one off and showing some cards made with our 2016 Christmas release. With only 80 days until Christmas, if you're like me you are full steam ahead on making your Christmas cards to send out. This card features two different sets Joy to the World and We Three Kings and although they are not new, they are two of my favorites.
To make my card I started with a top folding A2 card base in Crumb Cake. I used a page out of an old hymnal for my background and then stamped the images on it. The Joy is stamped with Versafine black onyx ink and watercolored in and the three kings silhouette is stamped in Crumb Cake. I love these two sets together I think they compliment each other well.

The three kings image (from We Three Kings clear stamp set) was stamped on colored cardstock, was heat embossed with gold embossing powder, then was cut out.

The greeting was stamped from We Three Kings clear stamp.
