Masculine Cards

Esther (from Shoregirl's Creations) here today sharing two masculine cards I created with the NEW Everyday Greetings 2 stamp set. Both of them are no-coloring cards, though the second one has plenty of color on it!

This first card is a fun birthday card that features the Gear Up and Time Well Spent sets as well as the Typewriter Text Background .  The watch and sentiment were stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink while the grunge elements were stamped in walnut stain distress ink.

My second card is a silhouette card. The background is dusty concord, chipped sapphire, speckled egg, stormy sky distress ink blended together to form sky and water. I used just a bit of white pigment ink to lighten up the center of my card and create the illusion of moonlight across the water. To add a little twinkle to my night sky, I spread some white gesso through the Starry Night Stencil.

The lighthouse and trees are from the Landscape Silhouettes set, and I added grass along the bottom with Scene Silhouettes: Tall Grass and the Cattail Die. The waves were created with a small stamp from Scene Silhouettes: Trees. All the stamping was done in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.

Lovely Lotus...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a card showcasing the soon-to-be-released Lovely Lotus clear stamp set and Floral Pattern Background stamp.

I stamped the lotus image three times on white card stock and colored them with Copic markers. Then I cut the middle part of the image out of the first one, the flower image out of the second one, and cut the last image out entirely. Then I adhered the layers on top of each other with glue dots. I added a touch of Clear Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

The background panel was stamped with the floral background image with VersaMark ink, and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I die-cut a circle out of the panel.
The cattail was die-cut with the Cattails Die out of vellum.

Thank you for stopping by today,
Monika

Texture in Nature

Hello everyone!  Happy Sunday!  The other evening I drove to church in a drenching rain, but the sun was shining, so naturally when I arrived, I looked for a rainbow.  I wasn't disappointed!  Though faint, it was still there.  After church, I came out to see the most gorgeous sky…the different blend of blues and pinks, including the most beautiful turquoise color, was amazing.  I had to stop and thank the Lord for creating such beauty for us to enjoy!  This prompted me to grab some of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Nature Silhouette sets and do some creating of my own.

The background for the first card was made by wadding up a piece of wax paper and using it to dap VersaMark ink on a piece of mixed media paper.  This was clear embossed.  The panel was then dragged through puddles of distress inks on my craft sheet.  Another piece of paper was used to dab up the remaining ink on the craft sheet to create the panel behind the Cattails die cut.  The embossing was ironed off to remove the glossy look and to allow the sentiment from the Script Birthdays set to be stamped on the card.  Texture paste was added to the fishtail banner through a TH Burlap stencil.  Some jute thread and a button were added to finish the card.

The same background techniques were used for this card.  Water was spritzed through a dotted stencil to remove some of the ink on the large background.  This was overstamped using the same colors of distress inks on the Delightfully Delicate Background.  A stencil and modeling paste were used to add the butterfly.  The embossing on the smaller panel was again ironed off so the Nature Silhouette image could be stamped.  Globs of hot glue, inspired by Karen Dunbrook, were added for more texture.  The sentiment is from the God is Bigger stamp set.  Felt and burlap flags and a button finish the card.

Hope these cards have inspired you to add a little texture to your card creations, and while you are at it, take some time to enjoy the colors and textures in nature…God's gorgeous creation!

Thanks so much for stopping by…enjoy your day!
Hugs,
Cathymac

So Thankful ~

Hi everyone, Mary here to share with you a card that reminds me of Canadian Lakes and sunsets.

I am sharing the new cattails die and the So thankful stamp set. What makes this new stamp set so versatile is the ability to pair different sentiments to create the perfect card...AND a variety of fonts makes this set a must have!

I started by masking a circle to create a sun and sponged colours to achieve the look I wanted. I randomly sponged colours to create a water/or hill and then die cut some cattails to give it dimension and a beautiful silhouette. I love how it turned out.
Materials Used:
Stamps: So Thankful
Inks: Ranger Inks - Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Pine Needles, Faded Jeans, Versafine black
Paper: SU
Accessories: SNSS cattail dies, SU circle punch

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
