March 2021 Release Hop Winner + Inspiration

Hi Sweet 'n Sassy friends! It's Julee popping in with a little inky inspiration and some happy news for one of you blog hoppers!

As always, we had so much fun sharing the current release with you on our March Blog Hop. We so hope you enjoyed it, too, and gleaned a little inspiration for using this month's stamps! While we think you're ALL winners, we did randomly select ONE lucky reader from among all the comments on the hop to receive a $25 gift certificate to the Sweet 'n Sassy shop.

And the winner is...

Congratulations Laurie!
Please send an email to snssassistant@gmail.com to claim your prize.

Now onto a little inspiration from me using one of my favorite past releases... Birds & Blooms. I started out by stamping out the images in the set, then watercoloring with distress inks and fussy cutting.  My first card is a shaker, using the miss you sentiment and my horizontal panel was done with the Background Builders: Stripes set. The background is a blended and sprinkled with water distress ink background.

My next card used the branch image, and I added the Blessings Word Die, cut a few times and stacked, then ink blended for some color and dimension.  The background is done with the Delightfully Delicate Stencil.  I used up a frame left over from cutting the back of my shaker above, then layered everything together.

There's still a week to save during our Moving Sale!

My card for today features the gorgeous dragonfly in the new Garden Whimsy set. I stamped the dragonfly on cardstock and colored with Copic markers, hand trimming just the body and wings.

Next I took a panel I had created as a "clean up" page from another use of the Delightfully Delicate Stencil. I loved the look of it and thought it would make a pretty background for my dragonfly.  So I stamped the dragonfly again where I wanted it on the background, then paper pieced my colored dragonfly, popping up the wings just a bit for a little texture. This set has some fabulous all occasion sentiments. I picked miss you for this one, stamped in black, then matted the panel in black and was finished.

Let's take a little gander at the March release...

First up is the March stamp of the month, Fern Background. This set is available for purchase for $11.95, OR you can get it as a FREE gift with a $60 purchase (after any discounts and before shipping and tax) during the month of March! We're so excited for the newest addition to our Texture Tiles line. These small repeatable backgrounds are perfect for creating backgrounds and texture on your projects.  We're seeing flowers and leaves in both outline and silhouette styles in our new Texture Tiles 11 set.

Bursting with promise is a our new Count Your Rainbows Bundle. These beautiful images are brought to us by Rebecca Rios. Our next set in the spotlight is the beautiful Everyday Greetings sentiment set from Korin Sutherland.

This month also brings us some more gnomes from Jenn Nilsson. The Gnome-one Like You set is so adorable!

No spring release would be complete without a butterfly, and Krista Hamrock has brought us a beautiful one in the Garden Whimsy set.

Along with new stamps and coordinating dies, we have two new stencils and a word die set debuting this month.

That's our March Release in a nutshell! So many fabulous sets to choose from! What's your favorite? Let us know in the comments.

Your next stop on the hop is my blog, Poetic Artistry.

May you be blessed today and always!

Birthday Bunnies

Hi friends! It's Julee popping in with a bit of inspiration for your Wednesday!

My twins turn 9 next week and I'm really not sure how that happened so fast! It's been a whirlwind for sure! Back when I was pregnant, I picked out some adorable little JellyCat plush bunnies for them. This little bunny from the Hoppy Spring set totally reminds me of those sweet bunnies, so I knew I had to use it on their cards.

I colored the bunny up with Copics, then hand trimmed (there are coordinating dies, but mine haven't arrived quite yet).  For the background I knew I wanted to use blue and green, because those were their colors and how we kept track of them. Blue outfits for Kellan and green for Trevor, until they were about 2 years old, and Trevor just HAD to be blue, too! So I created a smooshed background with twisted citron, mowed lawn, broken china, and peacock feathers disttress oxides. When it was dry, I stenciled over it using the Starry Night Stencil and some teal paper glaze. I finished off with a simple birthday sentiment from the Make a Wish set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful week!
