Mid Winter Shape Up

Hello Everyone!
We have made it half way through February and I have to believe that spring is right around the corner!  That said, these cold winter days do make good crafting days!
I have 3 cards to share with you today~

I used the very versatile Shape Up Stamp Set for this masculine and very mailable birthday card.  The shape was stamped in a repeating pattern to create my background.  The sentiment panel uses a technique I do not use enough- stamping a sentiment over an image. I used a stamp from the Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set and using kraft ink, stamped off once and then stamped onto my card stock.  I added the sentiment and drew a line around the panel with a fine tip marker.  I have been hoarding this ribbon for quite some time, but this seemed the perfect card to use it on.

This next card uses another image from Shape Up and also uses its coordinating die.

I also used the  Bloom and Grow set as well as the Delightfully Delicate Background.  I stamped my three hexagons and die cut them out.  The flower was stamped and fussy cut out and I used the Small Leaves Die for the leaves (well, I guess that was obvious!).  My background panel was stamped in red on kraft card stock using the Delightfully Delicate Background image.  I added a decorative edge using the Scalloped Border Dies.

Lastly, I have a cheery card made with the Keep in Touch Stamp Set~

Washi tape is the main ingredient on this card.  I added diagonal strips of 4 different tapes to a panel of white cs and popped it up on dimensionals.  The rest of the background is dry embossed.  I curved the sentiment stamp to be able to stamp it around the inside edge of my circle.  The phone was die cut out with its matching die and popped up on dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a blessed week!

Love blooms

Good morning!

I'm so excited to join you today and share a card that I made using two of our new February release stamp sets - one of which coordinates with an already release die set!

The sentiment is from the new Bloom & Grow stamp set (which is lovely!!) and the petals were cut from one of the Shape Up dies.  As you can see, I choose a variety of papers to cut from - some patterned, some white, and some solid yellow.  I embossed a couple and then stamped a few with the new coordinating stamp set called Shape Up

I LOVE this new Shape Up stamp set and had lots of fun playing with the shapes for my cards that you'll be seeing soon!

Have a great day - see you soon with more new Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps goodness!

Cherished Friend

Hi all!  It's Kim here today to share with you a great way to recycle using dies and paper towels!  I've recently starting using a lot of new products, such as ink sprays, and experimenting with many mixed media projects.  The results of much of my work left with my a large pile of brightly colored used paper towels.  (I use the towels to mop up access ink)

I held on to the piles of paper towels for a few months because they were just too pretty to toss and I figured I'd find something to do with them sooner or later.  Well when Korin introduced the Shape Die Set and I received them in the mail, I immediately picked up on the flower petal/leave shape and grabbed that stack of paper towels!

I cut a bunch of the petal shape and got to work scrunching the petals for a more realistic look.  I then layered the petals around a die cut circle that I'd covered with sticky tape.  Once my flower was assembled, I added the button and used ribbon to create the stem.  (Yes, the stem was the trickiest part of this card!)  The leaves were folded in half to create a vein and then the edges were tucked under the stem.  Then I just needed to add a sentiment and this one, from the Long Stem Silhouettes set, was just perfect!

So the moral of today's story?  Hold on to those pretty, inky paper towels...you never know when you might be able to turn them into a beautiful flower!!

Enjoy!

Shape Up!

Hello friends of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps...Happy Sunday!  Have you seen the new die sets just released?   If not, you'll want to check them out HERE...they are so much fun, and just in time for creating summer themed cards!

My first sample uses the Shapes Dies.  The possibilities are endless for the shapes in this fabulous die set.

The chevron die was used to create the background panel.  Cut the end off the tear drop shape and attach it to a trapezoid, and wah-lah...a vase!  The flowers from the Celebrate Today set (not currently available) were colored with water-based markers and stamped onto a Rectangle Nestie that was sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  The leaves were made with a punch from my stash.  The wonderful sentiment is from the very popular
Be Encouraged set.  Some texture from an embossing folder, a little ribbon, and some pearls finish the card.

My next sample uses the Wave Dies and was made for The Sweet Stop sketch for this week.

The waves were cut from patterned paper and card stock.  Both the positive and the negative waves were used to make the layers for this card.  The image from the Ocean Paradise set was colored with Copic Markers.  The shells from the Beauty by the Sea set were colored, fussy cut, and given a coat of Glossy Accents before attaching them to the card.  The really cool thing about clear stamps is that you can curve the sentiments on your block to match the contours of your card as was done with this sentiment from the Kindness stamp set. Aaaaah...I want to be sitting in that chair right about now!

To see more ways to used the wonderful dies from this release, check out the
Summer Die-Version Blog Hop!

And there is still one more day to take advantage of this Sizzling Summer Sale!

I hope I've encouraged you to find new ways to think of shapes...if so, you too can SHAPE UP!

Have a blessed Sunday!
