Shape Up!

Hello friends of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps...Happy Sunday!  Have you seen the new die sets just released?   If not, you'll want to check them out HERE...they are so much fun, and just in time for creating summer themed cards!

My first sample uses the Shapes Dies.  The possibilities are endless for the shapes in this fabulous die set.

The chevron die was used to create the background panel.  Cut the end off the tear drop shape and attach it to a trapezoid, and wah-lah...a vase!  The flowers from the Celebrate Today set (not currently available) were colored with water-based markers and stamped onto a Rectangle Nestie that was sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  The leaves were made with a punch from my stash.  The wonderful sentiment is from the very popular
Be Encouraged set.  Some texture from an embossing folder, a little ribbon, and some pearls finish the card.

My next sample uses the Wave Dies and was made for The Sweet Stop sketch for this week.

The waves were cut from patterned paper and card stock.  Both the positive and the negative waves were used to make the layers for this card.  The image from the Ocean Paradise set was colored with Copic Markers.  The shells from the Beauty by the Sea set were colored, fussy cut, and given a coat of Glossy Accents before attaching them to the card.  The really cool thing about clear stamps is that you can curve the sentiments on your block to match the contours of your card as was done with this sentiment from the Kindness stamp set. Aaaaah...I want to be sitting in that chair right about now!

To see more ways to used the wonderful dies from this release, check out the
Summer Die-Version Blog Hop!

And there is still one more day to take advantage of this Sizzling Summer Sale!

I hope I've encouraged you to find new ways to think of shapes...if so, you too can SHAPE UP!

Have a blessed Sunday!

hey there, girlfriend!

Did you check out yesterday's special release blog hop?  Today I have another card using one of the awesome new Shapes dies, but first... here's a card with one of this month's new releases.

This card reminds me of window shopping or a dress hanging in a fancy boutique.  I used the "It's A Girl Thing" stamp set from this month's release.  These images are super fun to paper piece!

I added Liquid Pearls to the necklace, purse, shoe, and the border at the top.  The tiny flower on the dress is a separate image that was cut out and layered.

Now here's another card with the new Shapes dies...love, love, love them!  ♥

I stamped the flowers first and then cut them out but I would do the cutting first next time.  These dies are great for making CAS cards!

Where did June go?  Oh my!  Hope you are enjoying your summer!

♥ Diane

The Sea

Today I would like to share 2 similar cards that I made using the beautiful The Sea stamp set.

For the first card, I sponged a sky by making a cloud stencil from our cloud dies.  I then sponged a sun by punching out a circle from a post it note and using the negative.  The bottom of the card was scored and a decorative border was made by using a border punch.  Rhinestones were used as accents.

For the second card, I also sponged the sky but did not use any dies and I used a different border punch.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow for our blog hop featuring some awesome new dies that are being released.  See you then!

Tulips

Welcome to another Tuesday creation from me, Stacy. Today is my last post as your guest designer for June. Time sure does fly doesn't it? Today I have a sweet summer creation for you with Spring Tulips.

A lot of the cards I create are sent to our Troops over seas so they are able to write home to their families. I tend to leave them sentiment free on the front, this way they are able to use them for any reason they choose. However you can always add a sentiment to the inside if you find there are special requests later. Sometimes it is nice to not have the sentiment and more area to embelish. I will note, this card will not go to the troops since I added the stickles the flowers.

I stamped the Spring Tulips onto classic white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo black ink. Colored with several copic markers. My designer paper is die cut using Spellbinders Curved Rectangles using Echo Park Sweet girl paper pack. To hide the seam from the two different papers, I have some white lace trim and some seam binding ribbon in a soft yellow.
Added a bit of flourishes jewels for bling and some sparkles to the Spring Tulips.

A little trick I learned that is faster when die cutting two different cardstock, see picture below. Place your papers together under the die and use a piece of small tape to hold them together while I die cut the shape. This way the bottom lines up and looks smooth and dry embossed the same.
I want to thank Korin and Janette for having me as a guest designer this month. I have enjoyed my time with you all and hope you enjoyed the time with me as well. Have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday!

Hello! Hope you all are having a great Monday! I have a very CAS birthday card for you today using the new number dies and a sentiment from Flower Block 2.
I started die-cutting the number from Metallic Blue Cardstock (x3), then I glued them together to make them thicker.
For my card base I sprayed the front with Taxi and Espresso Green Mists from Studio Calico, added a strip of chevron washi tape, stamped the sentiment in Olive Archival Ink. Finally added the numbers and green and blue sequins.

A very fun and easy card to make!
Hope you like it!

Sweet Kiwi Koala

Hello Friends! It's Monika here today bringing you a super cute card, using the brand new Sweet Kiwi Koala clear stamp set. I just love this sweet guy to pieces.

During the release, you might have seen my circle card, where I 3-D paper-pieced the image.
This time, I only pieced the melon. I stamped the image on the base card, then I stamped it on scrap and cut only the melon part out. Then I colored the image and using a stylus, I rubbed the back side. This gave some dimension to the image. I attached the melon to the main image with dimensional tape.

---------

To embellish my card, I used one of the new shape dies that will be available next week. I cut three of them out of gray card stock and adhere them on top of the Vellum strip. I also used Baker's Twine and Silver rhinestones.
The grass was die-cut with Fence and Grass Die set.

...and just a little tip... make a cloud 'stencil' out of paper and using a sponge dauber, dab ink on the card:

The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS216.

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Special Blend

Good morning!

Jessica here with two cards that I made using the new Sweet Kiwi stamp set (for the sentiment on the second card) along with the Special Blend stamp set.  I stamped the tea cup and the tea bags on lightweight watercolor paper, stamped in Versafine ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then, I used my Distress markers and a water brush to watercolor, something I haven't done in quite a while!

On my second card, you can see the sentiment from Sweet Kiwi - I stamped that in Versafine ink and embossed with clear embossing powder too.  I think my camera picked up the shine just a bit.  I was thinking of summer time 'sweet tea' when I designed this one and thought the sentiment was a perfect fit!

Have a 'sweet' day!
Jessica

Framed Wild Rose

Hello!  It's Bridget here to share a card with you today.
Due to our computer crashing, I was unable to participate in the
SNSS Mini Blog Hops highlighting the new releases this month, but here's a card
I made using the fabulous new Flower Blocks 2.
This one has a lot of dimension because of the popped up layers and by using sponging, it
works great for those who don't enjoy coloring with copics so much!
I stamped the flower four times, cut out different layers, then sponged each layer.
I sponged the square base piece with Stampin Up's Lucky Limeade, and then used several Stampin Up ink colors for the flower petals, including Blushing Bride, Real Red, and Baroque Burgundy.
I do this in several layers, starting with the lightest ink and then building up color,
so that it's darkest at the outside.
The flower center was colored with copics.
The black frame was created with Marianne Designs Frames and Swirls LR0116 die.
It's a long oval, but it cuts apart easily into eight pieces, which I then arranged around the square.
Making a die-cut frame into a different shape works with some dies, I can only suggesting giving it a try and experimenting to see how it looks!
The text background is made using Stampin Up dp sponged with Ranger Distress Antique Linen ink and then stitched onto a black card base.  I added a few scattered pearls to finish.
Thanks for stopping by today, have a great Thursday!

Ship Shape

Hello friends!  I am back today with a fun card that comes with a surprise!

First the card...

See, isn't that fun?  I had a blast playing with some fun new dies. The sailboat is actually made from two shape dies. I stamped the trapezoid shape with a wood grain image to create the boat and cut the triangle shape in half to create the sails. So fun! The clouds are even sponged using one of our cloud dies as the mask.

I'm hosting the Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge today and this is my sample.  It's a really fun sketch.  I hope you'll join in playing!

Now for the surprise...

This fun card features some NEW dies we'll be releasing next Friday during our Summer Die-version!  Summer is full of fun surprises so we thought we'd share in the fun! :)  You're going to LOVE these new dies.

Watch throughout the next week and a half for more sneak peeks and plan to join us on Friday, June 28th for our Summer Die-version Blog Hop!
